Shuttle bus is a bit rare for travellers to travel around. The last one is 8:20pm, it is a bit early if you go to Patong area. The restaurant is just near the pool, you can enjoy the view during breakfast, lunch and dinner 🙂 But the infinity pool is good for couples and the view is stunning.
My boyfriend and I took a trip to Thailand and decided to splurge a little towards the end of our trip. We booked a room w/ pool access at the Ayara Kamala Resort & Spa and we were NOT disappointed! Pros: - BREAKFAST - Man oh man. This was definitely one of the best breakfast experiences we've ever had! Unlimited made-to-order coffee drinks, breakfast buffet with both western & thai options. A La Carte menu with lots of different sweet and savory options. Tons of different fresh juices & unlimited champagne (aka bottomless mimosas!) - Wonderful pool(s) - originally we booked a deluxe room w/ pool access, but we were lucky enough to get upgraded to a private villa w/ our own private pool! The private pool was huge! Big enough that my boyfriend actually taught me how to swim lol. Additionally, the communal pool is also wonderful! If you're looking for a place to get a bunch of basic "infinity pool pics", this is your place! OH! Also, in your room, they give you a floatie of some sort! We had one of those cute donut floaties haha. - Free shuttles every 2 hours to Kamala. The little town of Kamala was wonderful! Not anywhere as rowdy as Patong. The beach was clean and there were tons of food options around. - Super quiet & relaxing! The entire resort is tucked away in the corner of Kamala! It's a great place for a relaxing and romantic getaway! - Service - All of the staff were exceptional! Even when my boyfriend and I were too tired to hike back up to our room (and trust, some of the rooms you legitimately have to HIKE to), they were kind enough to shuttle us back! A huge shout out to Kit & Chai for their wonderful service and willingness to help all the time. Cons: - Our room wasn't available until almost 2 hours after our check-in time. It was a bit annoying, but the hotel staff were kind enough to offer us free cocktails by the pool until our room was ready! - Like I said previously, some of the rooms are kind of difficult to walk to. They're super uphill, but if you ask, the staff will always be more than willing to drive you up to you room lol. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back! If you're looking for a place to relax, you can't go wrong with Ayara Kamala Resort & Spa!
Loved the privacy. If you want to stay away from the hustle cities, this is the recommended place. Great services, helpful staff, got halal food choices, perfect sceneries and lots lots of facilities! Free shuttle every 2 hours to Kamala beach/centre. Sooo beautiful and relax. Will stay here again!
I recently held my wedding reception at Ayara Resort and I was beyond impressed with the service from this resort. During the wedding planning process, Khun Aon was amazing to work with and always responded to my dozens of emails promptly. She was able to give me options to work with my budget. She was flexible in her time to meet with me prior to my wedding once I arrived in Phuket and made sure she had every detail and request of mine documented. The evening of my wedding went perfectly - the Cradle Restaurant venue was beautifully decorated and totally transformed from its daytime look. The staff were attentive to all my guests - one of my guests especially praised the staff for their attentiveness to their 18 month old baby who had multiple food allergies, making sure they had everything they needed and were comfortable during their stay. My room was also beautiful - including a bedroom and a huge ensuite bathroom, a separate living room area with kitchen, and also an outdoor area with a private infinity pool. The view was magnificent. The resort also managed to put my family members in the rooms right beneath us so we could stay close together. The resort is a secluded resort in Kamala and great if you are looking for a beautiful place to relax and just enjoy the view and what the resort has to offer. A complimentary shuttle was available to take us to Kamala town and when our group size exceeded the size of the van, the staff was super accommodating in arranging an extra transport for us. To go anywhere further was a bit more pricey - the next closest city would be Patong which was about 20 minutes away, but it was easy enough to get a taxi or have the staff at the resort arrange a transport for us. Overall, I am beyond impressed with this resort. Thank you to Aon and all of the staff for giving me such a memorable and perfect wedding and vacation!!!! 100% recommend this resort to others!!
A quiet and privileged resort with a beautiful view of the sea above Mount Kamala Beach View from the pool where the breakfast buffet is beautiful The resort is quiet where there are no crowded places nearby There is a shuttle service to Kamla Beach The staff are friendly and ready to serve Room features a large bathroom The resort has a tennis court
We split our 4 days in Phuket between this property and the Amari in Patong. Definitely not a 5-star resort; as others mention, don't expect the Ritz. This hotel is a mountainside of bungalow/townhouses. The rooms require a physical key vs. key card, the shower had terrible water pressure, and there was a lot of deferred maintenance. The common pool is relatively small and a hike from most rooms; if you can afford it, splurge for the private pool. On one of our days, the resort had the pool reserved from 11AM to after midnight for a private wedding - they did offer to make an alternative accommodation, but the resort should have a second pool if they're going to offer that service. The hotel is too far to walk to anything, but their complimentary cab service every 2 hours was nice. I personally found it overpriced for my expectations. Breakfast was the best part because it had a mix of buffet and menu items you could order off of, but the breakfast wasn't very expansive with options.
There are so many great things to say about this hotel and very few negatives. Plus the negatives are so minor I feel like I’m being too picky! First of all the location is great. 5 mins drive out of town which is perfect if you have a moped. They do run a regular shuttle but it’s much nicer not having to rely on time constraints. We were too early for check in so explored Kamala. On our return we were taken to our room on the little tuktuk. Walking in to that room took my breath away. It was huge!! Absolutely gorgeous views of the sea from the private pool. Just wow. I love the little touches, like selecting which oil you want burned in the bathroom and the turn down service at night. The staff are brilliant, the breakfasts sensational (although they ran out of champers after day one 😢) and the beach area very nice, although a bit of a hike up and down. I’m still at the hotel at the time of writing this review, chilling on my porch. We had to retreat from the main pool due to the amount of noise caused by the newly checked in posers from Turkey. Loud and crass and playing their own music from their phones. It’s really NOT that kind of place and I am sorry the staff allow it to happen. In fact I can still hear them from my veranda. Anyway. We love sitting outside at night with just the local frogs to keep us company! Very chilled indeed. Let’s just hope the group of lads are as far away as possible tonight. This hotel is one of my favourites ever. I just wish the last few hours of tranquility hadn’t been spoiled 😢
My husband and I booked the grand pool villa for 5 nights. We knew bankok and chiang mai were going to be busy with tours and city life, so we wanted a nice room to relax into for the last leg of our trip. For us, we're in our 30s and we wanted something romantic and relaxing and yet still close enough to nightlife Patong. I'm so glad I picked this resort. The staff was excellent and the room was amazing. The sunset views every night were exceptional. Their beach is not worth visiting but a free shuttle to Kamala is available every 2 hours until 8pm. My husband and I have our birthdays one day apart and the resort celebrated them by bringing us a cake! How sweet! On Valentine's day they had beautiful fireworks. The food was excellent in the restaurant and even the room service. Night life in Kamala is okay and Patong was worth a visit at about 30 min away. I highly recommend this resort and thank them for being so generous, kind and professional!
Staying at this hotel might be the best part of the holiday. Away from the smelly and loud Patong area you will be greeted with staff ready to check you in and take your luggage from the cab. My partner was having some belly aches and they even provided free hydrolyses while checking in. The staff can speak English well and were able to let us into our room even earlier. Theres even a little golf cart that takes you to your room. We chose the pool access room (pay extra, its worth it). This is one of the hotels where the room and hotel meet the photo expectations. The room is modern with a touch of Thai influence. Its clean smelling, well maintained and the aircon works well too. Rooms have a rain shower, a huge bath tub that has an ocean view too, comfy firm beds and pillows. The restaurant above also has a pool , you can get Italian, Thai , Australian dishes which were really tasty. The pool is stunning, your backyard has two deck chairs and inflatables to lounge in the pool with... Dont second guess this place...just book it , you wont regret it.
I struggled to write this because as another reviewer said, the staff here really means well. But for the prices they charge (especially over the holidays) they need to make some improvements. I'll start with the positive. The location is very convenient. About 10 minutes to the little town and beach area (with many restaurants, stores and massage shops). They offer plenty of free shuttles as well. And, if you want to check out Patong or even Phuket City it's an easy cab ride. I'd strongly recommend using the app Grab Taxi, as the rates are much cheaper than the taxis you find on the street. The views from the room are wonderful...looking directly out to the ocean and sunset. We splurged for a Grand Pool Villa, which is supposed to offer priceless views of the ocean. Unfortunately our room (404 I believe) has two trees which obstruct part of the view. I think this is the only Grand Pool Villa that has this issue. When we checked in, we were originally shown a different room, but unfortunately there was an odor so we declined to stay in that room (or another one which was also available). I haven't read about that issue previously, so hopefully it was an isolated incident. I'm incredibly sensitive to smells (as I have allergies). I will say that the Grand Pool Villas have wonderful outdoor space and the pools are very large. We enjoyed the private pool every day. The food was certainly decent. We didn't eat at the main restaurant. We had breakfast there and then either ate out for dinner or had room service. Room service food was fine...but didn't amaze us. I will say there was some communication challenges when we were ordering. Now, I don't speak Thai. That's on me. BUT, if you are going to bill yourself as a 5 star resort, and charge 5 star resort prices, you really should have folks on staff who can effectively communicate in a variety of languages. This wasn't a big issue most of the time. But, when you are trying to solve a problem (like the room issue) or order room service, it was a challenge. I've seen a few responses from the hotel team (on TA) saying they wish they had known someone had an issue as they would have worked to solve it while they were there. In our situation, they didn't seem to have anyone on staff who was really empowered to solve problems. Maybe that's why people have written here about issues, but not reported them to the hotel while they were staying there? I can only speculate. We felt that the morning after our check in, a manager should have proactively found us and spoken to us about the check in issue and offered a solution. Rather, we had to go to the front desk to discuss it. I think that's the difference and why I think this is a 3.5 star resort. The location and views are 5 star. The service just isn't. Another small example. As part of our room rate, we received transportation to/from the airport. The day before checkout I asked to try and get that scheduled, and that took quite a bit of explaining. For the prices they charge, that should be something they proactively reach out to me about the day before. That's not to say they don't have hard working, wonderful people there. They absolutely do. I just don't think the owners/GM have really taken the time to set them up for as much success as they could have. So, tremendous potential if they focus on it. We were there for New Year's Eve, which included a (mandatory) evening gala. Small nitpicking here, but if you are going to charge us (quite a bit) extra for that gala, you should include alcohol. It felt cheap to then have to pay for our drinks. At that point, even charge a few dollars more if you need to. The food on NYE was very tasty, so we did appreciate and enjoy it. The entertainment that night was quite an experience. Ultimately we had a very fun evening. I do have to question the decision to have pole dancing as part of the entertainment. To each his/her own...but that sure seemed out of left field for us. We weren't the least bit offended...just totally surprised. If you can get a good deal here, I would recommend it. Again, the views and private pool were fantastic. So as long as the prices are reasonable, it's worth it.
