Look in all fairness I didn't pay for the Hilton, so I didn't expect much especially after reading other reviews. Lobby area is very open and upon arrival I was greeted very warmly. My room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. It was perhaps a bit dusty but considering the location I'm not surprised. Overnight, it is noisy too... Patong is a busy place and tuk tuks do blare their sound systems quite loud and quite late into the evening. The bathroom has the shower over bath and served its purpose. Note the bathtub itself is on the small side, there weren't any towel rails or shower curtain in this one but that's not to say it's the same in every room. It wasn't in the best shape either but it was clean enough. There is no standard kettle/microwave or tea and coffee facilities in room, which would've been a nice touch if they had. The pool is small but fine, for the time I spent there very little people seemed to use it.. Most things here are a bit weathered. Breakfast was pleasant enough for limited options. Having had dinner here a couple of times, the food wasn't too bad either. Despite the faults, it's not the worst place one could stay at. I found the place fine for my 7 nights over the New Years period travelling alone. The beach will take you about 15 mins to walk to and there are plenty of eateries, convenience store, pharmacies and massage places along the way. Thanks to Mouse and the staff I passed by the week I stayed... Mouse had the friendliest smile always on show. She is the greatest asset to SM Resort.
Is my first visit this property It is conveniently located on the outer edge of the Patong entertainment district. Property offers a business center and motorbike rental. It is currently considered low season in Patong. The property is operating with a skeleton staff. The restaurant and bar are closed. The swimming pool is in need of cleaning and repairs. The rooftop offers a spectacular view with picnic tables and lighting but is in complete disrepair. The rooms are comfortable but aging quickly. This property has tremendous potential but will require a substantial investment in renovations and repairs.
I don't even know where to start. They staff at the front desk were very indifferent and didn't seem to care about us being there. When we arrived in our room it was filthy. There were things left over from the last people who stayed - half empty bottles of shampoo, and water, dried noodles on the floor. There was dust absolutely EVERYWHERE. We were told the room would come with a kettle - it didn't. We just had two mugs and some dirty cutlery. The sheets used to be white. Now they are a horrible shade of cream and had stains and tears all over them. There were these little bugs coming out of all of the holes in the wood. I don't know if they were mini spiders or what but there were thousands of them all over the room and really close to the bed which made me really uncomfortable about sleeping. We both woke up with mysterious bites almost every morning. The hotel building itself was in need of some major work as it didn't really look much like the pictures anymore - the roof terrace was really unkept and dirty and there was lots of damage to the walls in the corridors. There was a lot of noise from outside, including karaoke and a loud motorbike that went past a few times every night. The cost of the food in the hotel was super expensive - breakfast was an extra 300thb per person. We thought we might have had something positive to say about the pool as it is a good size and appeared to be clean. But when we wore our goggles in the water it was pretty dirty and you couldn't see more than a few feet in front of you. The tv was terrible quality and almost unwatchable with few English channels. This stay was £41 for 5 nights which I think is despicable for the quality of accommodation we received. By far the worst place we have stayed in Thailand so far. Save yourself the money and DON'T stay here.
Out of all the places ive stayed in Thailand this is the absolute worst. Staff are terrible don't care about their jobs at all or service to customers. Its dirty around the hotel they'd only clean my room twice a week and give me old stained towels and bed sheets with blood stains. Wi-Fi is terrible and doesnt work half the time when all it takes is a simple reset and when you tell them it takes them over 40 minutes to get on to it lol. My tables are stained. My sink was leaking. They let someone who is not registered into my room while i was sleeping and wasnt a worker/cleaner was absolutely shocked he didnt even know my room number and they just let him up and in. On one occasion they called me at 5am saying my taxi to the airport is ready when i was not even leaving and i told them that, then 1 minute later they call back up arguing that it is for me... im pretty sure id know if im leaving thailand lol. Another time they called me around 6am saying my bus to a tour trip is here when i didnt have one booked as i told them its not for me, they then called again after hanging up saying it is for me when i said it clearly isnt! Then they ask my name for confirmation maybe they should check the screen in front of them. I dont come on holidays to get calls that are not for me at 5am. Also the restaurant is barely ever open, though its terrible and over priced anyways
On arrival here was told fully booked even though I had a reservation.the lobby was being used to sort all the dirty laundry,which was lying all over the floor.On insistence that I didn't want to change hotels (my previous hotel was also fully booked) they put me in a 1st floor room, next to the overhead power cables. I went to put some stuff in the fridge but there was just a huge ice block in there so I spent about an hour defrosting the fridge. It was quite obvious the room was filthy with dust, dirt,and grime everywhere.various things were broken, ie the towel rail, bathroom tap, curtain rail, but I didn't find out till later that the aircon was broken.there was sh.t on one of the pillows.a kettle is provided but no tea or coffee.im now waiting to be moved to another room. This place actually make my skin crawl! ( Though that could be some bug or other as I've mysterious bite marks on me this morning) after a very hot, sleepless night.cant believe they charged over 4000bt for 3 nights for this place!
I spent 9 nights in this hotel over Christmas. Basically rooms are quite ok with nice TV (with lots of channels) and a comfy bed. No noise issues from outside either. The hotel serves subpar breakfast for 200 baht per person. Better options within walking distance. So why 3 stars? Rooms are cleaned only every second day, the staff (if you saw any) seemed very very bored about their job and really left a kind of apathetic feeling about the whole place. For me the staff always is the most important thing as they will ensure your enjoyment and safety during your stay. Next time will find another place as there's lots of options available in Patong. But yeah, it was OK...
got a great deal for 300 baht a night . rooms were clean and spacious.. good room service... nice large bathroom.. room has flat screen TV and a stationary computer for your convenience... is a short walk to the beach.. and directly on the road leading to karon/kata.... about a 15 minute walk to bangla road... for the price you really can't find a better deal
The staff was excellent, very humble & helpful... enjoyed the stay. The towels wasnt so soft & breakfast could of been better but otherwise it was lovely. Will definitely go back there... transport could have been made available as the hotel does have a shuttle but it wasn't available the 10 days that we were there.
Stay in for 3 nites. For the price is really worth a stay. This Resort is not located along Patong Beach. Rent a Bike or take a motor taxi 5 mins to the beach. The resort have a nice outdoor swimming pool, restaurant and bar. Free Wi-Fi is available Connection is good but sometimes during the night power failure then you have wake up and on the air con again...Air Con is working fine. With a 42-inch flat-screen cable TV, DVD player, fridge and computer. Internet can also be accessed via the cable TV. Rooms offer views of Patong-Karon Mountain. The on-site restaurant serves local and international and Asian cuisines, with a bar as well.. The room is pretty big and clean with a nice bathtub. Family Mart just opposite. Sleeping is quiet good until morning some cleaning staff chatting a bit loud. All and all with the price is fine...A hotel with fine staff and well equip room. " NO COMPLAINT AT ALL" Will be back.
I have stayed at this hotel 3 times in the past 4 years. It is located on the edge of Patong near Simon Cabaret so not that close to the centre of town but that means that it is very quiet. If you stay in the centre you may have trouble sleeping at night due to the noise coming from the bars. The hotel is walking distance to Hard Rock Café and Hooters and there is plenty of shopping nearby. There are always tuk tuk's and moto's outside. 24 hour convenience store just across the lane. The rooms are clean and comfortable with everything you need except an in room safe. Safe Deposit boxes at reception, I have never had an issue here. Rooms on the top floor include a dining table and chairs. Breakfast room / restaurant on site or just step out to one of the many local places. Considering that the most I have ever paid here is $44 a night the hotel represents great value if you are happy to commute to Bangla Rd etc for the nightlife. I have been to Patong over 20 times including one stay of 9 months and wish I had discovered this hotel a lot earlier. Overall a clean, comfortable and safe hotel at a great price.
