Baan Karonburi Resort is everything you need, good pool, great location, everything is as it should be. Location is great, Karon beach is 50 metars from the hotel, breakfast is great. Nice room decoration.
The hotel is okay, good location, etc. The beach is okay, a bit dirty. The staff is somewhat rude and tired of tourists. The room was okay, typical Thailand. The shower door was broke, when we called to ask for them to fix it, they broke the part that wasn't broke and left the other part broke. We couldn't shut the door and could barely squeeze into the shower. When we checked out, they tried charging us for a glass. We said it was on the patio. Then when we asked for a bill to show that they didn't charge us, they couldn't provide, saying that there was no bill and they didn't charge us. Again, I am chalking this up to Thailand. Typically, when you check out, you get a closed bill.
We had a lovely stay at Baan Karonburi and would definitely recommend it to others. The location really couldn't be better - directly across the road from the beach and surrounded by restaurants and shopping stalls. The staff were all very friendly and always did their best to assist us even though their English is not strong. Our room was comfortable and we particularly enjoyed using the pool and swim-up bar. I don't eat meat and I enjoyed the vegetarian breakfast options, but my partner does and mentioned that the meat items did not taste fresh. We loved having free Wifi but it was quite slow, and we did have a few issues with the safe in our room. Other than that, we had a great stay.
Stayed at the hotel twice now. They looked after our luggage in between stays for 7 days whilst we went on a North Thailand tour and now whilst we are island hopping. The staff are very helpful and always happy. We have only had breakfast in the hotel as there are so many restaurants close by. However the hotel is situated at the quieter end of Karon Beach (which is a beautiful beach) which makes for a restful night but only a short walk to town for those who like a livlier evening. Strongly recommend this hotel.
The resort location is nice. It’s located along Karon Road and across the street from Karon Beach. Our check-in process went smoothly and we were greeted by friendly staff. We were notified that our room was upgraded to a swim out access room. The hotel has a main pool with a bar. In the center of the hotel. The swim-out access rooms are connected to small side pools that are shared with about five other rooms, so it is not as crowded as the main pool. The side pool is near the side of the hotel property and the adjacent hotel overlooks the pool. It is not very private. Our room was neat when we arrived, but it could have been slightly cleaner. The bed was terribly uncomfortable. The bed springs can be felt through the mattress. The fitness center holds three older cardio machines and is by no means impressive. The breakfast buffet featured an omelette station, toast and pastries, fruit, cereal, and hot Thai dishes. It was a good spread. The breakfast is held at the outdoor front patio, which is a nice airy spot. The hotel wifi worked well while we were in the room. The front desk staff members were kind. They helped us book a taxi to the airport through another company. This hotel is decent and its quality is about equal to the lower accommodation price.
Wide Room (41s.m. ) silent with good air conditioned (hot and super humid climate in this season ) Super clean Very great and gentle Hotel Staff Breakfast giant i liked the small gym The beach is in front of the Hotel ( just cross the road ) Few minutes from 3 restaurants with live fish, fruit market, pharmacy, ecc.
Front office at the lobby need some training to manage ppl in a friendly tone. Other than that hotel is located in a gd location. Great restaraunts nearby and taxi right outside the hotel. Parking lot for cars are limited..beaches just a road away.
We are currently staying in the hotel and although it is a fair hotel for what you are paying do not expect to be able to communicate with any of the staff other than a Barman at the pool.None of your queries or requests will be adhered to and you will NOT get any dry pool towels even if you ask Nicely. The breakfast is adequate,Our room was dirty when we arrived and we had to ask for it to be cleaned.Hardly any water pressure in the shower and the amenities come in big bottles with squeeze tops. Their communication is so poor that they bring you the WiFi password as they cannot give it to you over the phone?! The Hotel is well situated on the front road of the beach but other than that it truly is nothing special.Smallish pool old towels and you get only one key card so all shuts down when you leave. The rooms show a bit of wear and tear and the shower door wouldn’t close properly due to mildew. The Pool view room has no pool view unless you stand on the end of your balcony and look straight down. Then you have a definite view of the pool!Towels are nearly threadbare but Bed linen is fine.Bed is as hard as concrete but I like that at least.Poor to hardly any Lighting in the room which makes it difficult to read and in general it is very stark with no character or charm.Rather make your Holiday something special with a place where the staff are friendly and they can at least understand you in a way.Not special at all and I am very disappointed. We will most definitely not return and can not recommend the hotel at all.It is a three star hotel tops.If the staff would only attempt to be interested if would make a huge difference
First of all, i must highlight reception doesn’t speak very fluent English, however you can still manage to understand what is being conveyed. The room we are having is a sea view room. Apparently I Guess it’s a limited view however it is superior view of the sunset at the balcony. The location is just right in front of the beach across the main road. Not far to the main town area as well. There are good massage shop within footstep. breakfast was OK. I expected there are warm water served too. The local breakfast menu was a little heavy, not to fussies. I considered that a wide range to select from. I had a second Guess on the baht bus travelling to Phuket Town at 30baht. Apparently The bus stop is just right in front of the hotel. You’ll find the blue sign asking you to wait right there. The frequency of buses are better in the morning between 7-10am. As for the airport transfer. If you arrive in 4 you my request the van transfer at the reception that cost you about 1000baht for the entire private van. However if you come alone or in 2, just ask around outside.charges is 300baht p/ person but it travels longer to the airport as require picks up other passenger. Private Van would save more time. It’s entirely your choice ! Amenities, don’t expect very luxurious shampoo. It was just ok. So bring your own if you checked in your luggage.
My friend and I booked this place purely for its location. There is a pool within the resort complex but with the beach across the road, it didn’t seem important to specifically pay for a room with private pool access or a pool view room. The morning buffet was ok as it had some variety between continental and Thai breakfast. The shower in our bathroom had mould within the shower door which made it difficult to open and close the doors as needed. The room itself was tidy and we were given fresh towels and water bottles when we requested them. The reception staff was a bit difficult when we wanted to cancel our taxi to the airport as they said it was non-refundable even though we hadn’t paid anything yet at the time. They said it was impossible to cancel the taxi and that they didn’t speak still English (even though we were already conversing in broken English to understand each other). It wasn’t until we asked to see the manager (who was only available the next day after breakfast) and asked for her name that we went back to our room and they immediately called us and said in English that they called the taxi company and cancelled it for us. Didn’t know why it had to be difficult in the first place 🤷🏽♀️
