The SIS Kata is a stunning hotel perched above Kata Beach, offering incredible sea views, stylish modern rooms, and a really relaxed, luxurious vibe. The infinity pool area is a highlight — perfect for watching the sunset — and the staff were always friendly, welcoming, and quick to help with anything I needed. The location is also great, just a short walk down to the beach and local shops.
However, my stay was overshadowed by a bout of food poisoning I unfortunately got after eating at the hotel’s restaurant. It was really disappointing, especially given how great everything else about the hotel was. I believe it was the salmon gravlax which caused it, and it definitely affected my experience.
If you’re planning to stay here, I’d still recommend it for the rooms, views, and atmosphere — just be cautious about dining at the hotel and maybe try some of the great local restaurants nearby instead. With some improvements to food safety and quality, this place could easily be a 5-star stay.
