Our first time at this property. We go to Phoenix a lot and have stayed at many Marriotts around town since I'm a Platinum and loyal member of Marriott. We were very happy with this property. Right across the street from the Chandler Fashion Mall, which is one of our favorite malls in the Phoenix Metro area and close to the Keg restaurant. First of all, check in was easy and pleasant. I do check in on the Marriott app to make it even easier. Still need to stop by the front desk to pick up the key and the woman at the front desk was terrific; friendly and efficient. Room was a studio suite; clean, open and very fresh looking. Love that the Res Inn had a real coffee pot and decent coffee, unlike some of the in room coffee Marriott gives you at other locations. Grounds are great. There was a youth baseball team staying there and there is not only an outdoor pool but tennis/basketball court and barbecues. Bed was comfortable and no excess noise (even with youth teams staying at the hotel). Why not 5 stars? TV didn't pivot to both the living room and bedroom area and maintenance man couldn't figure out why. That needs to be corrected for the next people. Also, shower was warm -- just warm. We showered the afternoon we arrived before going to dinner and then the next morning. Neither time did it get above warm. Not expecting super hot but the temperature was not what it should be and we both had it turned up on hot as high as it would go. We would definitely stay there again; location is terrific and hotel is very clean.

We got a two bedroom suite, which is more expensive. But I slept like a rock. Wish we had these mattresses at home. I thought the breakfast was good, my daughter only wanted donuts. They didn't have donuts. They had bagels, and English muffins, and other stuff. Just no donuts. I ate breakfast, then took my daughter out for donuts...Win/ win, right? They also have a kitchenette, with a small stove, refrigerator, microwave, metal silverware, glass glasses. Pretty nice. Only frustration was web site. It would have been nice to check that you need a two bedroom suite, and have the site automatically show only those hotels with openings. Instead, we had to find them one at a time. And it was spring break. It wasn't fun. One other thing. The pot for hot water had a coffee taste. Happens a lot, but sure can ruin a good cup of tea. I dumped out the cup, and heated up water in our room. That works.

Great hotel..rooms were very comfy and huge...great area for walking, mall across the street, dining on both sides of the highway..within walking distance... Pool needed cleaning..lots of leaves in it..morning breakfast was just perfect..nice place...friendly people working here!

My wife and three daughters stayed her for a gymnastics meet a few weekends ago. The hotel was very accommodating to all of our request. We checked out late and they were very understanding when the meet ran long. They were also very helpful finding utensils when we wanted to grill out. The rooms were very clean and we had enough room to spread out. There are also a lot of food options nearby

For a place that's at least 16 years old this residence inn is in sad shape. Wanted to work in the room at the nice desk, no plugs anywhere to be found unless you move a big couch. HOT Breakfast is the same every day, with a rotation of eggs, egg whites, sausage and chicken sausage. NO pancakes, no potatoes no French toast after 3 days of the same food it was getting old. The special hour at night includes no beer or wine, only the second residence inn that I have found this in 15 years. Apparently they do not want it.

I want to give this property a higher rating! The positives are great price, good location for business needs and shopping, friendly staff, was able to get early check in, pet-friendly hotel, great breakfast, clean & comfortable rooms. But....because I had a pet I was put in a room on the first floor right next to a basketball court. People were playing basketball which upset my dog. Luckily she isn’t a barker but it stressed her out. All day and night, on the weekend, the court is used. I needed to be up at 5 am and people were playing basketball from 8:30 pm on, which included continually dribbling and bouncing the ball off the side of our room. The next morning their energy drink cans were left on the side of the building. I would only return or recommend this property if I was guaranteed a room on the opposite side of the basketball court. This affects a good 1/3 of rooms on the west side of hotel. Even if you are on the 3rd floor you would hear the dribbling, ball hitting rim of basket and balls hitting side of building. Not quite sure what genius executive thought this was a good idea for a hotel where people come to sleep. Perhaps an ex-professional ball player? It really is too bad because my son lives near here, but I will find another property next time. I like my peace and also like to sleep without balls being rebounded off my room walls all night.

The rooms are spacious and pristine! The bed and pillows are super comfy. Breakfast was ok, the coffee delicious. All employees and common space were super nice. U enjoyed a couple of pieces of original art they had displayed. It’s a great central location .

Nice , spacious rooms with our King Studio Suite. We had a good kitchen with appliances; 2 burner range top, pots and pans, dishes, dishwasher. I appreciated this convenience since I have a special diet. Didn't use the pool or half tennis court. Went on a fun hike near South mountain with our son who lives in the area. Loved eating at the Wildflower Bread Company in the Mall right across the street. Overall pretty nice.

The entire staff at this hotel is very friendly, helpful, and welcoming from the people at the front desk to the maids to the breakfast room help. They go out of there way to greet you and smile at you, and they offer various amenities like giving you a gift bag when you arrive. The rooms are comfortable and quiet. They are bright and cheery. They are currently doing a renovation to parts of the hotel, but this did not interfere with our stay at all. Breakfast is very good - varies a little from day to day. The only bad thing about this place is the tap water (tastes like you are drinking minerals), but they do have a nice container of citrus infused water in the lobby, and they do make bottled water available to guests.

The Residence Inn is typical of all Residence Inns. The rooms are nice and spacious and there is a living area/kitchen so you don't feel so far from home. Two flat screen TVs, good WiFi (no password) etc. Fashion centre is facing the hotel and Walmart is just round the corner (even closer). As a note, and to explain the title of the review, the hotel is undergoing renovation of its dining area so there is no indoor seating. Food is served but it has to be taken to the room or out into the area beside the swimming pool. Being Arizona in October, this is pleasant but, despite notices about pixie dust etc. it is something that potential guests should know about in advance. Staff are friendly and helpful.
