This unit’s air conditioning is controlled through a building wide controller, managed by the complex’s maintenance staff, and turned off during the Winter months. There was an unseasonable warm spell during December, and we were unable to cool the master bedroom below 76 degrees. The increased unit temperature made sleeping at night uncomfortable. There was no way to cool the unit, and we were advised by complex maintenance to leave the windows/doors open late at night and early morning to provide cooling. This was difficult to accomplish due to our vacation itinerary and our safety concerns at being in an unfamiliar location and the inability to lock the front door’s security gate. Both the front door and back slider are easily accessible to the public. Additionally, once the door, slider and windows were closed the temperature would elevate back up within a short time. The unit’s owner, Tami, was receptive and attempted to resolve the issue by providing us with two oscillating fans, which helped move the air, but did not decrease the bedroom temperature. She also offered to provide us with a portable AC unit, but at that point, we were already halfway through our stay. Again, to Tami’s credit she did provide some additional resolution due to this inconvenience. Otherwise, the unit, the property, amenities and location were decent, and we would have provided this unit with a five-star review if it were not for the uncomfortable sleeping temperature.
