The staff was fantastic. The restaurant and lobby bar were lovely. Walkable to everything worth seeing and doing in Perth.
The breakfast is great. Nice and helpful staffs.
Nice
The room was fine. My issue was that there was a wedding dance party on the property that was incredibly loud that went until 1am and keeping me awake. Even closing my window did not help, it was so loud. When I made mention of it to staff when I checked out, I was not even offered an apology. Simply, "well maybe next time you stay with us there won't be a party." The hotel needs to put both time and noise limits on parties and be apologetic to unhappy guests.
Located in charming old mill (c. 16th century). Location is fantastic - 5 minute walk to train/bus stations and in historic district without suffering from noise. Staff is extremely professional. My room was of good size with two twin beds, TV, writing desk and sizable wardrobe. Downfall is the walls are thin so noise from hallway and neighbors were an issue. Also, the bathroom hasn't been updated since 1970. Cracked tiles and separate hot/cold faucets making it difficult to wash. If Mercure would update the bathrooms this property could be so much more comfortable.
Front reception employee failed to advise how to exit the off-site parking lot. And said we could not dine at the restaurant for dinner as we did not have the package. We said we would pay as we didn't have the "package" but we told they were full. We went out for a meal and returned to find the restaurant not even 1/4 full. Next morning a different employee was on the front desk and we asked about dinner at the restaurant to which we were told any guest can dine there and she had no idea about the package. We ate at the restaurant that evening and had a lovely meal with no concerns.
