we had a very nice room with a great view of Paris, the staff is very helpful and the location is great - nice nighbourhood with excellent transportation

Great hotel near a little of everything. It is an old Hotel so it is not the Ritz but well worth the price. Room was clean with Fresh linens. The shower in the bathroom and the bathroom itself was quite small but not unusual for European Hotels especially the older ones. I prefer the older ones as they have more character and charm. The staff is formal and polite as well as helpful. All staff members were bilingual although I speak French. The Breakfast was great as usual. I already miss the great breads and yogurt as they are so much better in France. It is located near restaurants, shopping, and of course a great boulangerie. The metro and train station are a five minute walk and I found many charming little gift and variety shops as well as a creperie nearby.

Great location and very nice and helpful staff. Not modern but clean and charming

I rented two rooms - one with a double bed for me and my husband and one with two single beds for my son and daughter. We checked in late at night (9:30PM) after a full day of traveling. Here's what we found upon entering our rooms: 1. Carpet badly stained in multiple places 2. Wallpaper had dark drip stains (either body fluid or liquid of some kind or water) also in multiple places 3. Wooden furniture and appointments in room badly chipped, cracked, and stained with water marks 4. Belongings from former occupant(s) - some paper trash items, a hand-written sign reminding them to take cameras, etc. with them when they left the room, a bobby pin 5. Coffee pot had standing water in it with mold floating in the water. No coffee packets or sweetener packets. 6. Bathroom had an area at the base of the wooden sink cabinet that was broken, chipped away, and had a patch of black mold where the chipped veneer met the tile floor. Overall, the rooms were tiny (hard for two people to even walk past each other in the room), very run-down looking and very unclean appearing.

The hotel has a good location close to the metro and the RER station, easy access to the airports. The internet was fee, the breakfast was reasonably priced with a good. The hotel room was small and can definitely use some updates. Overall the hotel is overpriced for the overall quality and I would not call it a 4 star hotel

excellent, good, friendly, clean,We enjoyed our stay was great and looking forward to doing it again.

We stayed at this so called 4-star hotel for a week in early November. Without exaggeration, the worst experience i have ever had in 15-year travel all over Europe. There is a long list of problems and i will go in the order of importance: 1. We got robbed on the first day of stay and they came back to the room in a few days and took more money from the SAFE BOX. We called the police and filed the police report. Spoke with the General Manager. The person is forcibly polite and basically told us that it's our problem. After the second robbery, we saw another couple talking to the manager. Their money was stolen from the safe box as well and the GM was trying to convince them not to call the police and submit a hand-written report to him so that he would "pass it through the proper channels". We found a hand towel in our luggage that clearly indicates that the robbery was performed by staff members as every each of them knows how to re-code the safe box. NOTHING has been done without a week of our stay, so we made it to the corporate office to complain and were told that this hotel is being investigated and it's nothing but a bunch of problems. 2. The conditions would barely suit a 2-star hotel in the US. The power outlet in the bathroom was broken in room 306 (our room) and had open wires in room 712 (our friend's). The bathroom cabinet's doors were totally broken and falling out every time we were trying to open the cabinet. The room is extremely small and didn't have any chest/shelving to put the clothes. A smell of something rottening was persistent. Mold in the bathroom tub. The old TV had only 5-6 channels, no English whatsoever. The clock or alarm didn't work in the TV set, no additional devices, such as digital clock, to verify the time. The room looked the same as it did a century ago. The bedding is the cheapest and very uncomfortable. 3. The staff is inefficient. We ordered a wakeup call, never got one. Thanks God we woke up on our own. They just "apologized" for that. One day we and a group of other people spent 20 minutes on the street at 6 pm because we couldn't get in the hotel. The front desk person was missing and the hotel was locked. Nobody was coming out. We were told that a day before the same thing happened at 1 am. Most of the times we entered the hotel, we would have to call somebody because there was nobody at the front desk to give us the key (yes, they still use those old-fashioned keys that you have to leave at the front desk). There is only one security camera on the ground floor and vertically anybody can enter the hotel. The front desk personnel speak very limited English. We urge everybody NOT to select this hotel. The chain has other locations they might work better. The only positive feature this hotel possesses is it's location - close to everything via train... Nothing else would satisfy the person looking for a 4-star accommodation.

I liked the staff attention. I would prefer to have internet access in the room. It was only available in the lobby. We did not get the breakfast in the hotel, it was 14 euros per person and I think it was too expensive, we had breakfast in the coffee shops a block from there. In total, I would recommend the place for the rate.

It was a good location. Near metro station. The station had a train directly to Charles De Gaul Airport. Some of the staff did not speak English. The Breakfast Buffet was nice. Hard to get a cup of coffee. The wifi only available in the small lobby. Need to do some refurbishing, especially in the bathroom.

this hotel was very small looks much better on the internet would not go back was very dissapointed not my kind of hotel at all very old looking the hotel key looks like a bell everytime you leave the hotel you have to hand the staff back the keys so in other words couldn't leave the hotel to go shopping with your room key very different than the rest of hotel we stayed

The best thing for this hotel is its excellent location. Very charming area of Paris. I have been to Paris enough times to know that the star ratings are oftentimes misleading. However this was over the top. Every part of my room was worn out, peeling paint, chipped corners, stained walls and carpet, very scratched furnitures. Big warning letter about keeping personal belongings in the room safe was posted prominantly in the elevator and same letter in the room. No CNN/BBC on the TV! When asked about this lack of english channels, I was getting different answers. The first nite reception person said that normally it is on channel 14 and 16 but today it is just not working but promised to have it looked into tomorrow (monday). Monday evening came and still no TV. So called down to the reception again and another person came up to my room to try the remote himself, finally announced that they don't have CNN/BBC servies and I was misinformed. Is this 4 star hotel? [...] Another advise, do not attemp to use the room phone. Even local calls would cost you about $1.40 per minute. So choose this hotel for location only and assume you are at two star hotel, then you will be fine.

I paid very little for the quality of the hotel. Booked three rooms and was given one suite! Very clean rooms, spacious enough for a Parisian Hotel. The staff was very helpful. The only drawback was the lack of a coffee maker in the room and the SLOW elevator! Would definitely book this hotel again!

The rooms were nice, but the service was horrible. They were completely unattentive and could not remember things from one moment to the next. They often acted as though you were being annoying o make them stand up and get your key when you returned (required to leave it there.) Also, only poor wifi connection in the lobby and no option for Internet in the rooms (even at a cost.) great location, though! Right near Rue Daguerre and all the cafes there.

This hotel was close to the underground metro and the that's about it. Room was the smallest I have ever stayed in. With 1 Queen bed, i had 2 feet on one side and 3 feet on the other side. 1 feet at the foot of the bed. Very old building and carpets were worn out. Since this hotel is at the corner of a major intersection, it was noisy all through the day. Definitely not worth the price. stayed during 2nd week of june 09 Two bright spots of the stay.. 1) Excellent staff 2) bathroom had super hot water with excellent pressure (even on the 6th floor)
