We visited end of January to celebrate two consecutive birthdays during our stay. The team at the hotel really went all the way to make this a legendary experience and brilliant memory for us!! Birthday cakes, champagne, a gift for the little birthday girl but also her sister, upgrades, etc. They even arranged surprise birthday champagne and birthday cake for us when we went for drinks at the Ritz. Obviously the facilities are fantastic but that should be a given at this level. Super clean and light rooms, great pool, three restaurants, fantastic Eiffel tower view :-) However, the level of service is unrivalled and personalised and what really sets this hotel apart. The team anticipates your needs and remember everything from your previous stays - from morning coffee preferences to the custom made hummous our daughter ordered. They really take pride in what they do and are always at the top of their game. We will be back again and again.... Compliments and thanks to the entire team!
We had a reservation through Trivago, for a beautiful suite at this hotel. All of the sudden, after very poor excuses for our room not being ready, a certain Mrs. I don’t remember what, because she did not give me a card with her name, told me in a very poor English, that the room we payed in advance, was not available because the hotel could not charge the stay to the company that sold it to us. It is terrible that a five star hotel like this could not let us know this before. I specifically wrote them to confirm if everything was ok and they say it was. They didn’t even offered us a standard room, and we had no place to go. They were rude, considering that we payed every penny of that room with months of anticipation. If they allow to this people to let the rooms being sold, it’s not the problem of the guests. We payed, we asked if everything was alright, and they... they say it was and... they kicked us to the street. We lost thouthands of euros. And not even a proper “I am sorry sr” of course, if you are thinking about staying in this place , I tell you: The Ritz, no doubt.
This hotel is beyond! So luxurious, everything is stunning. Breakfast was delicious and the dinner was Devine. The rooms are super clean and the bed was comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. I will be back for sure.
A week at the Shangri-La felt like a delicious dream we never want to wake up from. Walking into the hotel (although as a former Palace it feels vulgar to call it such), the subtle fragrance of Bvlgari, friendly smiles of the team and overwhelmingly beautiful décor were just breathtaking. From the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty. The entire Shangri-la team was amazing and responsive from pre arrival requests, transport, granting early and seamless check-in, restaurant bookings, directions, tours and little extras that made the trip that much more special. Julie with Guest Services was just lovely! Her historic knowledge of the building and tour really added to the stay. She was extremely welcoming and attentive. Staying at the Shangri-La felt more like an experience rather than just a place to sleep, it has likely ruined us for any other traveling! Breakfast each morning was delicious with fresh squeezed pineapple juice (thanks Stephen!), made to order cappuccinos, nutella crepes, eggs Benedict (or any other style you can imagine) and fresh fruits….. Luckily the gym was well equipped to burn off the extra calories, and the beautiful swimming pool was inviting and refreshing. Dinner at the Shang Palace was delicious. But the highlight of the stay was the decadent dinner from L’Abeille prepared on our rooms’ private terrace overlooking Paris and the Eiffel tower. Complete with beautiful rose petals, candles, a heater and lots of blankets to combat the cold Parisian winter weather. The room could not have been more perfect, and you should definitely ask for Room 410. It was immaculate and impressive. It felt as though we could almost reach out and touch the Eiffel tower, which was visible from the terrace, relaxing in bed or soaking in the large bathtub. Nothing could compare with watching the tower sparkle every hour while relaxing with a glass of champagne. The terrace itself was huge, perfect for a romantic dinner or a morning yoga session. Sunrise and sunset over the City of Paris and Seine River looked akin to a vintage oil painting. The bed was extremely comfortable and the comforter and pillows were soft and fluffy. The rainfall shower was just divine, the bathtub with the unbeatable Eiffel Tower view super inviting and the heated bathroom floors kept us cozy and warm. Only the draw of exploring Paris could coerce us to leave the beautiful sanctuary of this lovely space, but it kept drawing us back. I really cannot say enough about our stay. An enormous thank you to the entire Shangri-La team for making our Paris trip the best we’ve ever had and we look forward to our next visit.
Generally I try to stay with the Mandarin or, if one isn't available, the Four Seasons in each city I visit. During my 25 years in Asia I learnt that Shangri La was a bit hit or miss. In Paris the Four Seasons is, in my view, overpriced in the sense that EUR1500 for a room that looks at a building doesn't represent value to me. The Mandarin in Paris is in the wrong location for me. So, because I got one night free, I stayed at the Shangri La with low expectations. Upon arrival I was upgraded to a suite with a view of the Eiffel Tower, and by view I mean it is very close to the hotel. The suite was immaculate and the bed big enough for a family of six. Over the course of 3 days I discovered that the food is excellent, the hotel beautiful, the location is great, and the service is fantastic. for my future visits I will only stay here. I have never said that about a Shangri La before.
One week ago, we left our dream wedding and honeymoon in France behind and came back to reality. Still, we are reminiscing about all of the wonderful memories we made at the Shangri La hotel in Paris where we spent 6 amazing nights. I knew from the start of planning our intimate Paris wedding that the Shangri La would be the place we would get ready for the big day and stay over part of the honeymoon because the hotel's grounds, beautiful rooms, and grand style speak for themselves. However, it's the *people* who make this hotel truly perfect. Having the Christmas decor really added to our wedding photos and the magic of the season. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by Ms. Gurnova and given a tour and some lovely tea. We had reserved a suite with a partial Eiffel Tower view, and the team made sure to assign the best suite to us. The view really took my breath away and I knew our stay was going to be magical. I cannot emphasize enough how much Ms. Julie, Ms. Slizevich, Ms. Gurnova, and the entire guest relations team made us feel welcome and cared for before, during, and after our wedding (which ended up being in the hotel's garden on a rare sunny winter day). I am probably forgetting some names, but really, cannot thank the guest relations team enough. Truly, everyone we encountered at the Shangri La was excellent and their attention to detail meant a lot to us. The concierge team was great at communicating before our trip and suggested what turned out to be an excellent restaurant (the Pre Catelan) for our wedding supper. They also saved us a lot of hassle by kindly keeping my wedding gown while we travelled outside of Paris during our honeymoon. The dining team delivered great service every morning as we delighted in the yummy spread at La Bauhinia. Room service was great the one time we used it, and the hotel is spotlessly clean and tidy. The entire Shangri La operation runs like a well-oiled machine, but all you ever see as a guest is prettiness, kindness, luxury, and smiling faces. These are just a few positive memories among many, and we look forward to returning to Paris as soon as possible. When we do, we will for sure stay at the Shangri La again.
The Shangri-La Paris is one of the best hotels I have ever been to. The service is simply incredible and the house is amazing. The hotel full filled all of our expectations and beyond! We will come again! Thank you very much!
This is 5* palace starting from the outside. The exterior is outstanding and the greeting and the service from the first step. The interior of the hotel is so classic totally high level. Rooms are very nice and some has amazing views of the Eiffel tower. The hotel has their own perfume and you can smell it everywhere in the hotel. It is in your room, elevator, bathrooms, every corridor. The smell is very delicate and again brings you to the other level of the service.
I am a well seasoned traveller and have travelled all around the world since I was young, I always do my research before booking anywhere. The only reason I set-up a Trip Advisor account is due to how truly amazing our stay was at the Shangri-La and feeling the need to write a platinum plated review. Whether your used to 5 star service or not the Shangri-la team were faultless from pre arrival communications, transport, check-in, room set-up, restaurant bookings, everything and anything we practically needed to make the trip that much more special. We felt like we'd walked into a dream and never wanted to leave. What was also amazing is the staff genuinely want to make the stay that extra little bit special, and not just for tips, purely out of love for their jobs and fulfilment of their guests experiences. For a weekend away or a celebration, I would re-book this whole trip in a heartbeat !
We stayed there for New Years Eve. This hotel is not cheap but I have stayed at more expensive places with much lower service levels. It all started when they allowed us to leave an empty luggage there when we were enroute to South America. When we came back and checked in 3 weeks later at 0900, the luggage was already in the room. Marie and Julien from the concierge desk were amazing.
