We chose this hotel as it offered a good balance in terms of location, price and conference service. Still it was a surprise that conference takes place in the same room as breakfast, though it was not a problem in our case. My room was really small with no view at all (window faced the walls of same or other buildings), but cosy. In the rooms on the first floor you could feel a smell of something like mold, it could be because of renovation that took place in the hotel during our stay. No such problem was detected on ther floors.

I moved to this hotel after a truly awful night at the Ibis Styles Paris Lafayette Opera next door. This hotel was a hundred times better - the staff was helpful, polite, and cheerful; I wish I could remember the name of the gentleman who helped me the morning I checked out, because he was fantastic. Wifi was free and strong throughout the hotel. I stayed in Room 121, which was next to the stairs but far from the elevator. Very small room but quiet, clean, well-appointed, and with a very comfortable bed. The bathroom is tiny, so larger folks will have a problem navigating it. The elevator is also comically tiny - it will fit one adult with a medium-sized bag. The breakfast was continental plus some hot choices of scrambled eggs, sausage, and bacon. Excellent variety of items and a very good meal overall. This hotel is not perfect, but I highly recommend it if you are interested in staying in this area. The metro is a 5 minute walk away, and the Louvre, Galeries Lafayette, and Opera house are within 30 min walk.

I enjoyed half of my stay at Mercure Paris OL very much. I reserved a room with two single beds for me and my visiting friend. The first night we were given a room so small that we could barely walk around the double bed. I cannot convey how truly tiny the room was. When asked what they could do for me since I was given something very different from my reservation, I was advised there were no other rooms but I could get two free coffees the next morning ... The next day we were switched to a room of normal size with two beds. We could walk around the room, and even turn around in the bathroom. I would be writing a very different review if I had been given this room for both nights.

This small hotel, turned out to be an excelent surprise: ideally located close to the Opera Garnier, guarantees direct access to all city by foot or by metro/bus, is surrounded by innumerous bars, restaurants and theatres, with a good atmosphere in the street. The hotel itself is small – so the bedrooms – but offers a great personalized service, a fantastic petit dejeuner for a fair price for Paris. Definitely, a place to go.

The place isn't value for money even for Paris standards. The bedding smelled of mould, the room was awfully small, noise in the bathroom woke us up- it sounded like a rat in the pipes. And the worse of all - we asked for an iron and we were told that theu do not have any anywhere in the hotel, which i find shocking!

Yes small rooms, however balcony is a bonus. Easy access to metro and all tourist attractions. For a weekend stay ideal. One small wardrobe, no drawers so staying longer than a few days, if part of a couple would maybe have to live out of case . Polar bears were a bit of a surprise !

Worst stay ever! Waited over 2 hours in lobby waiting for my room. riom was extremely small. Could barely fit myself and a kid with no large luggage. Bathroom sliding door does not close all the way. If laying in bed can see person using bathroom.

The room was so small, that you could sit on the toilet, shower and brush your teeth at the same time. You had to go to the hallway to get dressed. It was also very noisy. The positive was that the bed was good and the room was clean.

The location of the hotel is great! But that is as much as I can say about the experience. I am very disappointed because there was NO HOT WATER during our stay. We were not able to take a hot shower for the 3 days we stay there! Unbelievable, considering it was January!! Not even a discount to compensate us from this. Would not recommend to stay at this place.

The hotel has some good elements. The position was very good and at least, I got a very spacious room. However, I doubt that these elements can make the hotel a four star. The reception is not very welcoming/cosy and the breakfast area neither. The price for the breakfast is definitely too much considering what there is some very basic stuff. Nothing was bad but not a rich and variated breakfast to remember. My room was having just some basic in a indefinite style. Wardrobe was standard size, but there was no place to hang jackets. The desk was so small it was not possible to place the laptop on it. The cleaning was ok, although I found a chewing gum stuck in a component of the TV. Everything looked a bit torn, especially in the bathroom. The bed was quite comfortable but I got very much disturbed by the light coming from the bathroom balcony window/door and the noise from the street. The main problem has been that the day we arrived (at midnight) the warm water and heating wasn't working in all rooms. We were NOT notified of this at check in. When arriving in the room, it was ice cold. The morning after I complained and they mentioned the possibility to take a shower in the nearby other hotel (an Ibis hotel). I accepted and asked when the heat would come back. They were not sure of when (to a colleague of mine that was there since three days earlier and got moved to the Ibis hotel, they told him instead it'd take two hours). At the other hotel I got a key to a room. I entered and apart the room being untidy, the bathroom had dirty towels on the floor and was clearly had just been used. I went and protest again, getting another room to shower in. Also this shower was untidy and had trash in the bathroom. The shower was dry but one of the wall was dirty of hair from the previous occupant. I protested again and got a very rude attitude from the person in charge. As I had no choice than take the shower (I wonder though why they couldn't be reactive and make sure to have a backup plan to this since they didn't have warm water for few days) I did ask though to have a place where I could put my stuff/clothes, since the bed was undone. They sent then a cleaner who came and put a sheet over the dirty blanket. After taking the shower, while I was drying myself, the personall in charge came in the room without even knocking. I found all this behaviour unacceptable considering the cost of the room. Without this accident I would have rated the hotel though with a three star. Therefore, I still think that there are plenty of things to improve. Another note. The last day of my staying the elevator broke....
