Honestly I was expecting a bit more from the Mercure brand. The rooms are OK and the bathroom was fine but the hotel itself is outdated. Very small lift and dark, small hallways. Paying approx €250 for the night without breakfast did not make me happy.

I have spent 3 days in the Mercure Lafayette and I have to say that I was very disappointed by the room I got offered. Regarding the price I had to pay for these nights I definitely expected something more. Also because it is a 4* hotel (apparently) I had some higher expectations. My room was way too small to stay with two persons, the wardrobe as just sufficient for 1 person, bathroom was made for just one adult and the space in the room to put away your suitcase it also very limited. The location was good, but paying such a high amount of money for just the location... I think you can easily get better for your money than this hotel. Also noise when your room is on the street side, which continues till 01.00 am.

I stayed in this hotel for the weekend , I booked this hotel as previous reviews said it has great location , well not that great , very noisy area , difficult to sleep at night from street noise even though my room was in 5th floor , rooms are tiny hardly able to move around and quite basic . Good things are : very helpful friendly staff , ok breakfast ,

Stayed for a two day business visit at the Mercury. Room was a two level (sleeping part in the Mansard roof) design. Clean, pretty simple. Breakfast ok, good coffee, and all the basics. Ok lower business class Hotel.

We stayed in the Hotel Mercure Opera Lafayette for a week. The staff were very friendly, the hotel was clean, the breakfast good. I really missed not having any face cloth in the bathroom and I was told they no longer supply this - a real pity for those of us who like to wash properly ! We were upgraded to a Privilege Room and found that it was really quite small for that kind of room with only one armchair and no drawers or shelf in the room to put our clothe.

This hotel is well located but needs a total refurbishment It is not well maintained The rooms are tired and the cushions and bed covers need to be cleaned The only good aspect is the staff who are polite With a room rate of €330 per night excluding breakfast they have to be joking

Smallest hotel room ever. No room to open my suitcase. Bed took up almost all the space. Poor breakfast. Doesn't cater for lactose intolerant people. Was herded out of the usual breakfast seating area 25mins before it ended and had to eat in the lobby as they use the breakfast area as a meeting room from 11... Ignorant receptionist didn't deal with it well at all. I always put the do not disturb sign on my door but somebody came into my room when I went to work and tidied up! Different receptionist didn't seem to care. Poor wifi.

It's given that hotel rooms in Paris are generally small, so I won't complain on that. I enjoyed staying here nonetheless because the location is so nice, plus there's an awesome bakery right in front! Our room had a nice relaxing city view with colorful flowers and all. Rooms were well maintained and I will never forget those delicious sausages served every morning!

I've stayed there for business and was very surprised the size of the rooms: very small! However, it is a comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was good, staff at the reception was just ok: nice but too slow to check us in when we are in a hurry...

We chose this hotel as it offered a good balance in terms of location, price and conference service. Still it was a surprise that conference takes place in the same room as breakfast, though it was not a problem in our case. My room was really small with no view at all (window faced the walls of same or other buildings), but cosy. In the rooms on the first floor you could feel a smell of something like mold, it could be because of renovation that took place in the hotel during our stay. No such problem was detected on ther floors.
