Had the opportunity to stay at this boutique hotel for 2 nights at the suggestion of a colleague. Arrived early from the USA but was allowed to check-in to my room (at 9:00 am) - great start. Staff was friendly, competent, engaging and professional. First impressions of the foyer and adjoining rooms were great - warm and inviting, with lots of seating areas and comfortable sofa chairs. Breakfast room can be accessed by a short flight of stairs leading to to an open area below from the foyer. Assigned room was small (normal for Paris) but well laid out with standard amenities, viz., safe, fridge, small work table, walk-in shower (rain shower with good volume of water), separate WC etc. I think this is fine for 1 person but may be a squeeze for a couple with more than one piece of luggage. Power outlets were sparse but reachable from the work table with a normal cord length. Room climate control was responsive and provided adequate cooling, given the warm temperature outside. Bed was very comfortable and sound-proofing adequate despite the room being located across from the elevator. It probably helped that there are only 4 rooms/floor (at least in the action that I stayed). Wifi was free and reliable. Breakfast was standard fare and probably a little expensive given the selection - but there are numerous alternate choices within walking distance.I should add that the hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of several city landmarks. I really liked this establishment and can recommend for business or leisure.
Comfortable room, excellent bedding and air on, clean. Very friendly staff, English speaking, good quality and variety breakfast. For a business traveller that needs to be able to work in-room, there are essentials lacking: no restaurant or room service (you need to get out for a cup of coffee or a late meal), mobile telephone reception and wifi was weak, and the desk and place to seat are inadequate to do any serious computer work. Nothing wrong with hote but just not what I needed.
We have always liked the great location and pleasant staff. Now that furnishings have been updated the ambiance is excellent. This location is an easy walk to shopping, and sites of interest. Breakfast room and meal are lovely.
I loved this hotel. It was central, good service, clean and comfortable. It was walking distance to the Louvre and a lot of places. A highly recommend. Just don't order cocktails - 2 very ordinary G & T's cost us 36 euro. Apart from that it was awesome
Nice hotel with not so many rooms, very warm and cozy. A bit expensive above all the morning breakfast but generally speaking this is an execellent venue to stay in this part of Paris. Rooms are very silent and peaceful.
Centrally located close to Boulevard Hausmann and to La Madelaine the hotel is easily reachable by tube and close to shops and amenities. The hotel is nice and clean. Rooms are cosy although a bit small. Price is OK for business travellers. Good choice.
I chose this hotel, but made an error as I had been thinking of another place in the same arrondissment with a similar name. I was given a suite, which sounded good, but was so TERRIBLE that I could not even stay in it for one night. The couch was horribly uncomfortable and there was no TV in the bedroom part. I was told there were no feather pillows, which later turned out to be false. As well, the balcony looked out on nothing. When I went down to say I was leaving, they came up with a much better suite, which was very nice and modern. However, I needed to stay two nights and the good suite was only available for one. As well, when I requested a toothbrush, they brought me a box with a toothbrush on the outside, but q-tips on the inside. When I called down to tell them, they argued with me, and said that they had delivered a tooth brush. When they finally came with a new toothbrush, the staff member had egg on his face, as he saw that indeed the box I had received had the wrong thing inside. The next night they shoveled me into a so-called deluxe room, which was like a mousetrap, with plugged drains and few amenities. To add insult to injury, I did not have breakfast but was charged for it anyway. There are an infinte number of better hotels in Paris for this price, and right around the corner from this one, where the service is much, much better. Give le Mathruin a big miss.
Lovely, little hotel in the center of Paris. Very stylish without going over the top. Quite street. Would return. Location: centrally location in the center of Paris, in a quite street Rooms: rooms was quite compact but very tastefully decorated, not like a typical hotel but very homey in a stylish way. Type of room you happily spend the evening hanging out. Was stylish, but not crazy modern. Breakfast: nice, stylish small breakfast room with good,breakfast.. Had healthy options.
We booked this hotel because of the good reviews and spa facilities. We were very disappointed to discover whilst staying at the hotel that the spa was being renovated. We were not informed of this when booking, so we're very disappointed on arrival. One of the reasons we chose the hotel was because it had a spa. Apart from this we had a very comfortable and peaceful stay. The breakfast is very good and the staff are very welcoming and polite.
We stayed here in December and it was lovely. The staff were friendly and helpful. We were delighted to find out that our room had a balcony which was a nice touch. Excellent location for sight seeing and breakfast was included. Overall, a lovely hotel even though it was a bit pricey.
