Have just returned from a visit here. Stayed for 3 nights and was pleasantly surprised after reading the bad reviews. The rooms are clean and comfortable, they are not massive but you have everything you want and need in a room- tea and coffee making facilities, hair dryers, clean towels daily etc. Staff 2ere friendly and all in all a great stay.

The hotel is a real disaster. Rooms are tiny and dirty. The first room I was given had soaking wet window curtains which were just washed so the water was dripping on the floor which was flooded. The result was that the whole room was also extremely damp. After having asked for a new room I was given a room next to the reception on the ground floor. The room was also not properly cleaned (hair on the floor) and some lamp bulbs were burnt. Additionally, you could hear all noises from the hall and reception. I was woken up at 5am by some guests complaining at the reception about their room. Overall very bad experience. Feels more like a hostel than a hotel. You have to leave your key at the reception each time you leave the hotel which is also quite annoying.

We stayed few days in Paris in this hotel, the location of the hotel was fantastic next to the underground, train stations and Republique square, a place with a lot of restaurants and pubs. Furthermore in the main street you may find supermarkets, And shops. Hotel rooms are small And the toilet too. We had a little problem, we ask for changing the towels, and one of the new towel had was unpleasant. But the rest of our stay was good.

The rooms were smaller than I imagined but they are clean and well equipped. It is rated with 3 stars, but I would give it 2. I stayed there for the location, as I needed to be close to Place de la Republique and the train station. The neighborhood isn't the best.

Centrally located and convenient to a number of transport hubs. Staff friendly and helpful. Rooms tiny in fact so small you would have a job to swing a cat. No air conditioning making sleeping difficult in such a confined space. Breakfast adequate but could do with the addition of fresh fruit. Wifi available but band width poor.

We had a short break booked and the hotel and its staff were amazing the whole time we were there. There were long days and my french failed me the majority of the time and the team went above and beyond to help. Huge thanks to Abdel who was fab for both myself and my other half. Great location for being close to the station and I would consider staying here again for the location. Its a good size room and bathroom.

I had called ahead of time to arrange a hotel room and confirm a rate with Thierry. When I checked in, a different employee, Abdel helped me and I realized he charged me a higher rate than what I was promised. I brought this to his attention and he would not listen to what I had to say. Even though his hotel paperwork showed the rate I was promised. I took a picture of the paperwork as proof as I had a feeling he would try to manipulate it later. I asked to see a manager and he got angry and defensive and snapped, "why do you need to see a manager." I waited until the employee that originally helped me came to work, Thierry. He was so friendly and apologetic. I didn't even have to tell him what happened as Abdel had told him that he argued with a guest. I looked at the hotel paperwork again and sure enough, Abdel had crossed out my rate and added a higher rate. The manager, Eglantine, came in the next day and was also very apologetic and friendly. Eglantine and Thierry were amazing, they handled it well and tried to make things right for me, which I definitely appreciated but I had already told Abdel I was leaving. Abdel should be seriously reprimanded as I've never experienced such service in all the countries I've been to. As for the hotel itself, the location is very convenient to the Metro stop. The room was small as is typical and not very clean. The carpets look very disgusting. There's also construction in the lobby and front entrance. I'm not sure how long this project is expected to last but they don't appear to be protecting the customers from this. When I walked out of the elevator, I walked into a huge dust cloud of drywall or some kind of sanding dust from the ceiling.

Good location on Rue Lucien Sampaix, small and cosy, clean room. Helpful and friendly staff. The hotel is located on a nice street with good places for nice breakfasts and dinner. Nearby the Metro Jacques Bonsergant as Republique.

I stayed for 3 nights with a friend. The hotel is a short walk from the Gare de L'Est and close to Republique as well. It's set back from the street a little and when we arrived there was building work going on so we had to walk across some unsteady planks they'd put down to get to the entrance. Staff were a mixed bag - some friendly, some rude. We had a twin room which was big enough but had an unpleasant musty smell. We could also hear water dripping through a pipe all night. Pretty comfy beds. The bathroom was small but had a great shower. Room servicing was annoying though - as per their instructions, we hung our towels up to indicate that we didn't want them changed, but when we came back the towels were folded up neatly. We couldn't figure out if they were fresh towels or if they'd just folded up our used ones, which isn't ideal if you're travelling with someone you don't necessarily want to share towels with. They'd also pushed the twin beds back together (we'd pulled them apart) and moved used pillows from one bed to the other. The next day we told them not to service our room to avoid all this, but they did it anyway. They charge extra for a small but nice breakfast buffet. Wifi worked well.

Very small room but clean and shower is quite big even though the bathroom is very small. The corridors are so narrow. The entrance is quite ugly but we don't really care about that. The area is ok, not dangerous and short walk to Gare Du Nord as we were coming from London with Eurostar. Not sure will return
