Thay can poorly speak any english and on the top of the iceberg, they wanted me to pay 187€ at check out without any explanation why. I paid total amount of money at my reservaiton. Despite that the man insisted to pay more. Non of the receptionist ever introducet him/herself. We got small room, cold and dusty. And one more incident happend. I had reservation for 4 nights and pay it too. They tought it was only for two and almost throw us out. Thank God I had confirmaiton e-mail printed with me to show them. Totaly not recommend this hotel!!!!!!!

Nicely located, but we had the smallest room in the world (207). Space for only one suitcase in a double room. Not even 1 meter round the bed... 3/4 bath tub, no maintenance at all. No safe. Under the bed had not been cleaned since very very long time. Otherwise, the reception staff were so so. Even if the breakfast room is small, it's quite comfortable and the food is good with fresh bread and viennoiserie.

Back in 2015, my wife and I stayed at this hotel and enjoyed the good attention and services of the hotel personnel. We particularly remember the welcoming and friendly attitude of staff member Pierre. My TA comments reflected a very pleasant experience, see below. https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g187147-d233755-r270011666-Hotel_Ariane_Montparnasse-Paris_Ile_de_France.html#CHECK_RATES_CONT Because of that experience, we decided to stay at Ariane Montparnasse during our recent visit on September 24 - 28th 2017. Prior to our arrival, we felt very good about our coming stay, the hotel sent us an email asking for any special wishes or needed information on Paris. But in spite of this, once we arrived and stayed at the hotel, we felt somewhat disappointed about the changes we noticed in the personnel. The pleasant and friendly faces we remember were gone, and our second experience was far less enjoyable.. During our first visit, everybody was French, now it seems to be more European, and probably not all with the right personalities to work in the hospitality industry. The general characteristics of the Ariane Montparnasse hotel are still there; excellent location, access to public transportation, quiet neighborhood, etc. Our room was of good size, and always kept very clean and well supplied with toiletries. However, the main changes we noticed were the personnel attitudes and willingness to help. This time the character of the service received was cold, impersonal, almost dismissive. So much so, that we did not want to ask or request anything, and we managed to satisfy our needs by some other means. I could not recommend this hotel any more, and I hope other visitors have better experiences. My advice to others wishing to stay at the Montparnasse area of Paris is to try your luck somewhere else. While walking around, we noticed several hotel options nearby.

Very cozy with comfortable & clean rooms, hotel located in montparnasse, 5 min walk to pernety (nearest metro station) just walk ahead straight from metro...the rooms are too small and don't expect fancy or luxury, no refrigerator or kettle in the rooms even the hall for breakfast is too small

Small room with nice bathroom, very clean. Breakfast without vegetables, but there is Yum Yum noodle available...;) Quiet neighborhood with many shops and restaurants nearby. Fast way to metro station.

15 minute walk to Gare Montparnasse train station, many restaurants and stores nearby and a very inexpensive hotel for Paris. The staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet is basic, but usually included. Wifi is free and there's coffee in the lobby. The bathrooms are exceptionally large for Paris hotels, and the rooms are reasonably large in that context.

Friendly, convenient small hotel about a ten minute walk from Alesia Metro station. It was clean and comfortable. The continental breakfast was excellent with a wide selection of food and the staff were very pleasant. The hotel is situated within walking distance of many bars and restaurants and a short metro ride away from all the main attractions of Paris. We would definitely use this hotel again.

I booked a room via booking.com for the night of 21st June 2016 since I remained positively impressed by the photos on booking.com. Once checked-in I got a very small room at the rooftop of that old building with a small window and no air conditioning. In the room there were more than 40 degrees that night. No slept at all. The room was dusty, the chair in the room had spare hairs on it. Common areas (corridors, stairs ) have old and dirty carpet, no air because windows were totally closed, lift dirty. There was no care also in the small lounge. This hotel declares 3 stars though actually it should have 2 at least. I paid €170 for one night without breakfast. Too much for such kind of place. I do not recommend it to travelers. I told at the reception, and to booking.com as well, that it is not correct to publish pictures which do not correspond to reality.

We stayed in hotel for 6 nights from 17th to 23rd june 2017. Booked 1 triple and 1 double room. The triple room was a little small for 3 persons, and double room was good in size. There is no air conditioning in rooms neither there are good table fan in rooms so the rooms become suffocating and warm, when the temperature is above 30 degrees. I suggest the hotel to do something for this as the fans provided by them are not much effective. The staff is nice ,helpful and good. The breakfast area is small, only 4 tables with 4 sitting each. If more guest come for breakfast, they have to take their breakfast to their room or lobby above. I suggest the hotel to increase the breakfast space if possible. Overall a nice hotel to stay in Paris.

We stayed for one night in a very warm spell. The room was very hot and could not be adequately ventilated without the fan (provided) on full power. The shower room was very nice and modern. The breakfast was meagre and we were put off by the strong smell of cigarette smoke coming from an open doorway.
