Holiday Inn Paris Gare De l'Est

Stayed there December 2016. Arrived on train from Strasbourg and hotel is directly across street from the Gare de l'Est rail/metro station. Staff friendly and helpful. Check in took only a few minutes. We requested and received a room in the back for quite rather than a view. Room was clean and bright exactly as in one of their photos.Average size by European standards, smallish by American standards, but certainly adequate. Limited English language programming on the TV as expected. Bathroom was small but adequate. Heavy people may have trouble entering the showere and shorter people may feel like a child on the high commode. Queen bed was comfortable. Small safe and refridge present. Breakfast was excellent. There is a pub on one side of the hotel with a New York City theme and happy hour specials and typical bar food (East Side Cafe) and a more traditional restaurant serving french cuisine on the other side (Cafe de 'Est).Metro entrances flank to hotel entrance only a few steps from the door. Another larger metro railway station (Gare du Nord) is only a few blocks or one metro stop away (less than 5 minutes).Bicycle rental station (very inexpensive way to see the tourist sites as it is only 1,70 euro for the day per bike provided you undock and dock the bike at the plentiful stations within 30 minutes. We rode to Notre Dame, Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triumph and back to the hotel never exceeding the 30 minutes on any leg. Check out the Velib site and use the app(s))

Like most Parisian hotels, the hotel rooms were small but very clean and updated. You have to pay for tv (only has a handfull of free channels, mostly news). And located in front of a very useful metro station with trains to main attractions.

Great place in Paris. Close to metro Clean rooms. Friendly staff.

I don't recommend this hotel. It is small and far from the happening areas of Paris. You are better off staying at the Holiday Inn in the Latin Quarter which is walking distance to Notre Dame and all the restaurants/cafes and shops.

Excellent location as its near the train station. Nice, clean hotel and the staff spoke English which was great.

My best friend and I did a Eurotrip and included Paris as one of our destinations. The hotel was clean and in a nice location. However, there was no wifi in our rooms and no complimentary breakfast.

If your in France for sight seeing this is a good place to stay at.. Major train station is across the street making it very convenient to get to any landmark you would like to see. Not much around the hotel but there are good local cafes and coffee shops for quick bites and casual conversation. If your tight on cash (like I was as a student) than this is great deal. I would rate hotel as a 3 star out of 5. My trip was during new years eve with my girlfriend, overall I would book same hotel all over again if I had choice.

We stayed one night and booked a USD 450 "executive room" which turned out to be a glorified match box dated and stinking of smoke! If you need a hotel room of "executive" quality dont be fooled by the Holiday Inn! Street noise was disgusting....

This hotel is extremley convenient as it is located directly across the road from the Paris Gare De L'est train station. The price is a bit high but you are paying for convenience. I do not, however, recommend staying in room 228-238 as these rooms are directly above the breakfast buffet and it is very loud very early in the morning. The hotel staff was very nice and they held our bags the entire last day after we checked out until our train left Paris at 1710.

Great location, clean, as good as hotels twice the price.

Hotel was excellent in all respects.

spent 9 days in Paris.used the metro system snd found it was easy to use. THE HOLIDAY inn was dissapointing. No Wifi and maid service was weak. The room was missing a lamp and a reading light was broken and not fix ed. The coffee was not refilled after the first day. The good point was cafe down the street called l'entittlement {little gnomes}

Although the neigborhood is easily accessible, it is kind of sketchy overall. Also, staff was very unfriendly and made the check-in a pain. Probably would not stay there again.

I have to say that this was a great experience. I stayed in 2 Holiday Inns while traveling in Europe and was very satisfied. Great location for getting around the city. Rooms were small but very nice. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Would definitely stay again.

I have never had a room so small. The room measured 7 feet wide by 12 feet long. We barely had room for our luggage. This is no exageration. We had to put a trash can under a night stand and the chair in the bathroom so we would have room for our 2 bags and were barely able to move around each other. Other than that the room was clean and the staff were friendly.

We arrived early, and they checked us in. I think they put us in a smaller room though. Across the street from Gare de L'est and so convenient. Great breakfast (not included), and tons of brochures/maps for you.

Excelent value for money, clean & decent rooms (a bit small), good service and great location if you plan to use the metro. It was muuuch better than many 4 star hotels in Europe (and it is registered as a 3 star). No complains at all. I will come back for sure

We stayed there for a 7 nights.Room was very small with just coffee maker and hair dryer no iron for the clothes.Service was OK however they need learn how to knock to the door. They just want to get in without knocking first. The worse part was that 200$ was missing from the safe after talking to manager(that was maybe 24 years old) he said that there is only one thing that he can do for us witch is calling the police that was 400 ft away from hotel. Not a I`m sorry or here it`s a free breakfast or something like that. Will not go to the same hotel ever! For more deatels you can e mail me at [@]

I just got back from 10 days in Paris and stayed at this hotel and would highly recommend it. While I didn't spend much time in and around the neighborhood, I had easy subway access to other parts of Paris. I had read some other comments about noise because the hotel sits directly across the street from the Gare d'Est train station, but I didn't have any problems with noise and slept like a baby. The hotel didn't have the charm of the other, smaller hotels I'd stayed at in Paris, but my room was spacious, similar to American hotel rooms It was highly functional hotel. The staff was very helpful and very friendly and all spoke English. It is a bargain for its price. My main complaint was that I didn't get my wake-up call (the only one I made) on my last day, which put me in some jeopardy of missing my plane, but I woke up on my own early enough to get to the airport. And one other complaint was that instead of getting a room with one double-bed, I was in a room with two twin beds. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Great Location to Subway, Hotel Employees were very friendly and spoke english. Rooms are definately small(very small but we were out and about most of the time so we only needed a place to rest.
