Hotel is very compact. Elevator and hallways are small and walls are thin. We assumed we were in a smoke free environment but our neighbors smoked constantly and chatted outside our room. Cable television is in French which was frustrating because we speak English. Room temperature would fluctuate between hot and cold and the view outside the window was frightening. Hotel is located in a very expensive location and store owners don't speak English. However we felt safe and public transportation was easily accessible.
This was an extremely comfortable and clean hotel. Staff were helpful. Subway is close to hotel and made it easier to travel around. Wifi did not work on the 4th floor where we were staying so that was a bit disappointing. Also note that you need to collect the keys at front desk for security reasons so be prepared for that. Breakfast options available at 5 euros and 12 euros, definitely worth it.
The staff was very nice, but the room was very small.
My wife and I traveled to France for a music festival in Nantes, and wanted to spend a few days in Paris afterwards. This hotel was in a good location, with a few metro stations within walking distance. The market was directly across the street (on Tuesdays and Fridays) which was a great opportunity to buy cheap fresh produce and cheese, however, there is no street parking on these days and it can get pretty congested and loud during market. The hotel itself was fine, although there were constant renovations being made (mid June 2015), including stone cutting outside our window and painting right outside the dining area. I was disappointed with not having coffee or tea available past breakfast time, but there were plenty of cafes around to find a good cup. The large saving grace of this hotel was it's staff. The front desk was exceptionally helpful, as we did not speak french well and needed some serious help when our rental car got towed. The gentleman called the tow company and found out where our car was and how to get there by metro. Once we got the car back, he also recommended a parking garage which offered discounted parking ($25 a day) to hotel guests. The hallways were small, but the room was great (queen), with large windows that opened to the street, allowing us to sit in the window and enjoy the fresh air. The air conditioner worked fine and the bathroom was large and clean. The major concerns were involving the renovations, which they seems to be at the tail end of when we stayed. I recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a nice paris experience, avoiding all the major hustle and bustle of touristy locations, yet still close enough to take the metro to all the major sites.
The person that works at the front desk, Michel, was amazing. He helped us figure out how to use the metro system, was always attentive, and able to help with anything. The location of the hotel was really nice because it was away from the touristy area so kind of a good getaway from the crowd. My only complaint is we had issues with our shower draining well. However, the room was well equipped and the a/c worked well.
Clean, calm, charming, and cosy. This is small hotel near Place de la Republique. The brakfast with croissants fruits and cheeses is served in a vouted ceilling room. The rooms have been recently renovated and decorated with good taste. Polite and helpful personal. A Market is every 2 days across the street.
Wonderful breakfast, perfect location. I got a great rate through Orbitz and they did not charge extra for my daughter. Close to metro and in a hip quartier.
Location of this small but very comfortable hotel is pehaps the first quality which recommends itself-not located by any particular tourist sights-Notre Dame, etc.-but well within walking distance to many attractions and if not wanting to walk Metro station Oberkampf a mere block away. The immediate neighbourhood is very much a lived in one that contains all the amenities one would expect-restaurants,bars, grocers and much more. Hotel staff is young and friendly and guests ranged from tourists to business people.
