Austin's Saint Lazare Hotel

This is a small boutique property offering rooms in the city and great service. We enjoyed our three nights here. The rooms are small and have some age but are clean and tidy and just what you need in the city. The staff are welcoming and very warm as you come and go throughout the day. This was a good base to start from each morning with most tourists sites within a 30 minute walk.

On my way to the Normandy area, I decided it would be much more convenient to stay a night in Paris. Austin's St Lazare Hoter was located right across the street from the train station and has great reviews, so I decided to stay there. Although the room was European-sized, it was clean, quiet and had everything I needed. The staff was great! They secured my luggage when I arrived before the room was ready so I could go out exploring, they lent me a wine glass, provided a wake-up call and were always quick to answer a question. I'd stay there again anytime.

I chose this not expecting much from a station hotel but because it was immediately next to Gare St Lazare and I had an early depart. Check in was quick and friendly. The room was clean and had everything needed. It was quiet even though it overlooked the square and street. Perhaps a little small for some but if you’re looking for somewhere quick easy and convenient this will be hard to beat.

From the outside the Austin is unprepossessing but the rooms, though small, are clean, comfortable and quiet. I had room 44 which was well away from lift noise and considering the street it's in, it was amazingly quiet at night. The location is terrific if you're travelling, as I was to Rouen, because it's a 5 minute walk to Gare St Lazare train station. It's also a short walk to the Boulevard Hausmann and the old Galeries Lafayette department store with its stunning Belle Époque stained glass ceiling and it's glorious gold balconies.

We visit Paris frequently and have not stayed in this hotel before. We would stay again. We were travelling to Giverney next day so we wanted to be by Gare St Lazare , perfect for that! Great location, turn right up Rue Amsterdam and you get to Montmartre, turn left and you get to Opera and galleries la Fayette. Rooms are small but we had a tiny balcony! Very clean, comfy bed...a kettle! Hurrah! The windows don't keep out the noise from the street but we liked that we could hear Paris below us.You can borrow so many articles from an umbrella, adaptor, iron and even print out your flight tickets.

Clean modern fresh Perfect little hotel in a great location near St Lazare station Light breakfast of pastries juice and cereals with lots of little extras served in a quaint stone basement Room is not huge but quite adequate with aircon heating and coffee making facilities Staff friendly and helpful Would definitely stay here again

Location: ideal as vis-a-vis the train station St. Lazare, i.e., metro, RER and SNCF direct access. Supermarket in station, as well opened Sunday. 24h shop vis-a-vis. Hotel clean, but rooms small, beds small (140cm wide = cozy :)), better take 2 beds. Staff friendly. Area around is a little "shady" but that's fine, or usual for having a station near. We didn't take breakfast as you can make instant coffee in the room and buy everything for breakfast as the supermarket (Carefour). Ideally situated for all trips to the center (3-4 metro stations), direct train to Versailles. Walking distance to Galeries Lafayette.

Good location close to train station and walking distance to some monuments if you are eager to walk a bit. Room is small however expected due to the location. Cleaning was ok and reception was helpful.

The hotel is very conveniently located near the Gare Saint-Lazare and Galeries Lafayette, and also has good enough sound insulation that the street traffic is not noticeable when you'd like to sleep. While the rooms are on the smaller side, they have very nice amenities (air conditioning, WiFi, a very nice continental breakfast), and the hotel staff are also quite nice. Since the point of being in a city like Paris isn't really to stay in your hotel room, size is not really much of an issue.

Friendly front desk staff, good location on 9th arrondissement, convenient and pretty good breakfast included. Rooms are small and tired but clean. Quite noisy neighbourhood with train station across the street but amazing job done at sound proofing!! Would stay here again!
