This place should be condemned. Worse than awful - beware.
the property and room was falling apart. unsafe, exposed electrical wires etc. pool not heated, hot tub broken
Our room was missing part of the door frame on the front door, as though it had been kicked in previously. There were multiple outlets missing cover plates. Our shower didn't work, but the staff was able to come fix it. There was staining and discolored paint on the walls. On the second day both of our key cards stopped working for our door. There were limited amenities with a microwave and a mini fridge. No coffee in the room.
It looked in bad shape we drove up. Checking in and out didn't seem to know what she was doing or answers to simple questions, ex. may I have a receipt. I couldn't get a refund so stayed there. Went into the room, which looked like it hadn't been clean for a long time. Piles of dirt and stains on the floor, there was toothpaste spit on the faucet and mirror and the glass shelf was grimy with hair stuck to it. The room only had one table lamp and no other lights, we took out a light bulb was the bathroom and put it in a fixture on the ceiling (which techniquely was a wall fixture with a knob). Do not stay here or believe the pictures.
Due to the COVID19 Pandemic I was NOT able visit the Desert Lodge. I've stayed there several times before. Despite calling to cancel more than a week in advance, the hotel would NOT waive their cancellation policy; not for the first night, not for the entire four night stay. More infuriating than that is simply knowing that the property undoubtedly resold my room for the same dates. Sounds like double dipping to me and taking advantage of disaster on the backs of their patrons. I will NEVER book with them again.
It was very rundown & unsafe. The front desk was friendly enough & location was decent.
I liked the service. Beds were super comfortable. I liked that they had several different kinds of pilliws to chose from as far as firmness guides in the room. I wish they had full size towels. Wish they would have programmed the tv to the remote, cable was but remote wouldn't turn on and off the tv, and would have really loved some coffee in the morning even if i had to get it from the office.
Gnats breeding in the sink and I get charged $25 a night for a pet charge! Air conditioning didn't cool the room properly. Peep hole on the door was missing and had toilet in paper shoved in it. No weather stripping on door bottom gone, Leaves and trash kept blowing in. Shower totally disgusting, went to family house to take showers. Door connecting to room next door was shut with big screws sticking out. Maid was surly and just not a nice person. I was a housekeeper in a party resort. I know she hates her job. She should quit. Honestly.
Friendly staff. Great location. Perfect for Coachella.
When arriving to the desert Lodge it' was immediately apparent through the condition of the facility that they don't put any money into fixing, painting, repairing, anything! When I arrived at the front desk I was told that I have to pay an additional fee for electricity which was obviously a scam. I asked the man if I could put it on my credit card and he said no it had to be cash which I knew was shady. if it was real why not be able to use my credit card and why wasn't it already included on my bill? The next issue I had was with the door knob which is extremely difficult to turn and needed to replaced. It literally took a minute or two to open the door. I have a real problem with this since this could have been a major safety issue with an easy resolution of buying a new lock cheaply at a local hardware store. It just shows how cheap the owners of this place are! Thirdly, the air conditioner needs to work! Because of an easily fixable missing directional piece of plastic which points the cool air up, all of the cool air just gets absorbed into the bed, therefore the room never gets cold. This is just another example of how cheap the owners of this hotel are! Forthly, the bathtub drained extremely slow. it literally took a half an hour for all the water from my shower to drain so the next person could get in. We literally were taking the ice bucket and draining the water out phyically into the sink so the next person could take a shower!
My room the bathroom needs fixing up the toilet makes this awful noise when flushing and toilet lid needs replacing. Also in bathroom there are roaches come out at night. The room could use some paint walls were a little dirty. It needs a little work.
Cheap, cleanish, horrible pool. Was probably something way back when, but no longer.
I probably never stay there anymore. The hotel needs a lot of work and I think need to be fallow up with the department of health. Is very dirty and very noisy. With respect to others but this hotel I only see homeless inside... my experience was terrible.
Didn't stay it was way to far to get to anything I only got 2 day refund I was hopping to get my whole refund
