It’s an historic hotel and beautifully furnished with antiques. Our room didn’t have a closet in which to hang clothes, though there were two coat hooks. Also, an additional night stand and additional electrical outlets would have been nice. The lady who is housekeeper/cook was extremely nice, friendly, and provided excellent suggestions as to where to eat dinner. And her breakfasts were delicious! The hotel is right on the main street, so it’s convenient to walk to almost everything — shopping, dining, etc. The views surrounding Ouray are gorgeous. Very nice hotel.
Loved the jack-n-jill bathrooms between two queen rooms! The beds were comfortable, the shower was great, and the family-style breakfast was delightful. 😃
The hotel is located on Main Street within walking distance to shops and restaurants. The room was a little warm even with the window open and two fans. The mattress was horrible and the over head light didn’t work. However, the breakfast was delicious and overall we enjoyed our stay in this unique hotel.
We got two rooms. One was half the size of the other, but the price was the same. When I asked the owner about it, he said it was Orbitz fault. Also, our friends had two cockroaches in their bathroom, which we saw as well. The owner said it was impossible, as there aren't any cockroaches in the high country. That is completely untrue.
On the good side: awesome breakfast with super friendly cook, old charming hotel. On the negative side: everything creaks (stairs, bed), walls are paper thin, bathrooms need updating, no AC in the summer.
Beautiful hotel, loved decorating, could use some more old time pictures. Was only one chair in 2 bed room. noticed that single rooms had two very nice chairs each. Shower stall leaked badly, had to use towels to mop up. No TV was a PLUS, but there was one in parlor. Breakfast was excellent and great choices. Somewhat expensive but worth it. Would love to stay again and would recommend.
We loved the location, ease of check in, the breakfast was delicious and the room was spotless. The only thing I would have changed would be to have nicer pillows and a more comfortable bed. It was about a 7 on a 10 scale for comfort.
Atmospheric, inviting, windows that open, greeted warmly and shown around, good location, great breakfast
This was a great night out for our 39th anniversary. The bed and breakfast hotel was perfect. Very nice victorian decor and a lot of great history about the local area. It is attatched to the Bonton restaurant, which was also awesome.
The hotel is great for a short time away to visit in Ouray. The hotel manager and his son greeted us and made us feel welcome at all times of our visit. The décor is historic, and really makes it feel like you are away from the grind in a great way. morning breakfast was a true delight, with plenty of options for food cooked in front of you. Recommend this hotel. There are no refrigerators available was only drawback.
Great stop on our western tour. Hotel is full of the history of the Western Rockies. Well appointed and maintained. Great location in Ouray where you would swear you are in a mountain town in Europe. Staff is very caring, engaging and helpful. Included a wine tasting happy hour with great conversations and a full breakfast. You can surf the web with the wifi connection but you'll forget to do that just enjoying the place and your moments there.
