We were very disappointed to find that this property was not clean, unsafe, and misrepresented from the listing. Upon arrival, we encountered a rotten egg smashed outside the front entrance, spider webs and bugs throughout the house, hair and debris in the shower and under the bath mat in the bathroom, stains on the couch, and dirty window sills and kitchen. The home also had a musty odor, and most concerningly, the smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were open and missing batteries, despite the listing stating that these safety devices were present and functional.We documented everything with photos and left shortly after arrival because the property was not fit to stay in. The host was unresponsive to our concerns and only offered to re-clean the property after we had already secured other lodging. He also stated that they do not offer refunds. We came to this listing excited and fully prepared to stay, and only left because of the unacceptable conditions, not to seek a refund without reason. Afterward, the host indicated that a negative review might not remain posted, which raises concerns about trust and transparency.Unfortunately, the property failed to meet even the most basic cleanliness and safety standards. I hope this feedback encourages greater care and oversight for future guests.
