Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel-On Disneyland® Resort Property

3.5 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

Disney Paradise Pier is the most affordable of the three hotels on the Disney campus. It is conveniently within walking distance of the restaurants at Disneyland Hotel, Downtown Disney, and the theme parks themselves. Walking to any of these places is a short distance on protected paths, not along 8 lane wide roads with thousands of cars zooming past at 50 MPH. The hotel was well decorated and definitely exuded a "Disney" vibe. The parking policies are generous, and there is plenty of parking available. The only negative here was the onsite restaurant, PCH Grill. A $40/person buffet should be serving good quality food at 745, but the restaurant was almost empty when we walked in (which should have been a clue, in retrospect) and the food was at best 2/5. They were out of several items, but the old serving trays were still there, and the food that was there had obviously been out for a while. Take a tip from me: walk over to Goofy's Kitchen at DL Hotel or the row of restaurants at Downtown Disney instead.

This hotel is very nice and clean as well as family friendly. However, I’m not sure the hefty price is warranted. There are other hotels within the same walking distance as this one and that include breakfast for a cheaper price. We did love the atmosphere and the staff are very friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that it is too expensive for what you get. I️ think you could find a hotel just as nice, within walking distance and that includes breakfast for a cheaper price.

The hotel gives you the Disney experience, close to downtown Disney too. The only thing that disappoints me this time, is you were not allow to cut through the Californian hotel to get to downtown Disney or to get into the California park, by using the hotel entrance. Now only the Californian guest are allow to use that entrance. My thing is on extra magic morning, why not let the two other Disney resorts allow to use that entrance way too. Other than that the Disney Pier has a new elevator system which seem to have improved on wait time.

We had a charming staff member that checked us in, answered all of my questions, helped us make dining reservations as well as helped me purchase a last minute admission ticket to the park. The room was ready upon arrival, the Bell staff was prompt with our luggage, the grounds were clean and our room had the most EXTRAORDINARY view of California Adventure Park. At night we could watch the lights from our room. The housekeeping staff was friendly and professional. We enjoyed the Bar staff as well. I will be a return visitor to the Disney Resort Hotels.

We like the convenient parking and the quick easy access to the access to the theme parks.

There are a lot of differeing opinions about this hotel, so I had to try it for myself. The price is high for what you get. Many of the old benefits are gone - not only can you not use the Grand Californian entrance to the park, but you can't even enter the Grand Californian from the front at all! You need to go through the DTD entrance, which means a walk and going through security. Room was clean and pleasant, but some flaws. No balconies, which wasn't a surprise. The thing that bugged me is that the windows didn't open! I dislike being hermetically sealed in a room. Plus, the hook to hang a towel in the bathroom clearly broke off, and the hole in the door was spackled closed without replacing the hook. Boring pool, but fireworks viewing is great. I have stayed in many Disney hotels. This is the least Disney hotel I've been in (and Hilton Head has no characters and that felt more Disney!). The Extra Magic Hour is key, but hardly worth the up-charge. In my opinion, try to rent DVC points and stay in the Grand Californian.

We love going to this hotel (sometimes even over the Grand Californian) because the service is so much better. The person who valet parks your car ($30 per night fee) is the same person that takes your bags to bellhop which is super convenient as we have spent several times waiting around at the Grand Californian for a bellhop to take our luggage after arriving which takes time away from us being in the park. We asked how much an upgrade to a view room would be when we checked in and were accommodated with a very reasonable additional charge. Booking Disney hotels through Orbitz always seems to be the best option as they frequently offer promo codes that basically wipe out all taxes. Their rewards is great too! My only complaint was due to the recent movement of park security, all Paradise Pier hotel guests were told that they could not walk through the Grand Californian to get to the parks (which used to be one of the perks as it's a shorter walk). Due to new security, guests at Paradise Pier have to walk through the entirety of downtown Disney to get to the main gate to get to the parks. This is heavily enforced by Disney security as well. It was weird to stay at a Disney hotel but be treated by security as if you were staying somewhere off property. It also made for very sore feet due to the additional walking that was required to get to the parks.

I paid a high price thinking it included breakfast and it didn't . Breakfast price was so expensive. The staff wasn't very friendly. The room was not very clean and lack of maintenance in bathroom area, The cafeteria employees were bad and unfriendly. Only good the cocktails but food very poor. Furniture at lobby very old. Hotel well located.

Beautiful hotel and so close to Disneyland and main street. Everyone was so kind and helpful. Printing out airplane boarding passes and setting up Taxi rides, etc. I would stay there again when I return to go to Disneyland and southern Calif.

2 rooms 7 woman bridal shower slumber party was great Whole Disney weekend made my daughter and bridesmaids so happy

We have stayed at the Grand and Paradise Pier before, and although the Grand's location can't be beat, we love Paradise Pier. We love that it is smaller than the Grand and feels more "homey". Our kids love the movie room and we love the little bar/snack area right in the center of the lobby. The location is not much further than the Grand and an quick walk to the start of Downtown Disney. We were given a great room with an amazing view overlooking Disney's California Adventure. Our kids spent all of their time in the room looking out the window. Thank you for a great stay!

My daughter and I spent two nights at Paradise Pier while visiting for the Dr. Strange 10K. We walked across the street and through the Grand Californian to enter right into DCA. It made it easy to go back and forth to the hotel for pool time, work calls, and rest. We also walked next door to Disneyland Hotel to visit Trader Sam's for a late night bite to eat - so good. Downtown Disney was a 5 minute walk and provided many options for other meals including breakfast at 4:30 AM. They were in full gear due to the race. The room was clean and comfortable. Plenty big for 4 even though we only had 2. I really liked that even though we did not get (or pay for) a disney view we had a beautiful view of the pool. So, instead of looking at a garage or service area, I think almost everyone has a decent view, front or back. We wanted to spend check in day in the parks, so we checked in and dropped bags at 8 am. We received a call by 11 that our room was ready. Since check in time is 4, I thought that was great service. The front desk and bell men were friendly and efficient. Overall a great visit. Would book again.

Outstanding location, beautiful beach facade, comfortable rooms. Would definitely stay again.

I was really suprised that they did not offer a shuttle to/from the park. At the end of a long day its a crazy hike through Downtown Disney with the crowds of people to make it back to the hotel. The hotel is fine and the staff are super nice. The food prices are extreme but that is true anywhere at Disney. We didnt venture off property for the 3 days we stayed and i am sure of we had we could have found cheaper food but we are unfamiliar with Anaheim and didnt have a car.

Great location, walking distance to parks and downtown Disney.

Our flight arrived at 9am and we were at the hotel about 9:45. I thought we would need to wait about 5 hours to get our room. We left the luggage with the bell man and received a text after 45 minutes that our room was ready. We were very pleased with not only check in, but with the room as well. We had an incredible view of California Adventure and World of Color. We never had a problem with elevators as others had stated. Staff were friendly, hotel was clean, and Disney magic was all around. The walk to the park was fine for us, we generally went through The Grand in the morning, and returning to Disneyland in the evening we took the monorail. All in all, we had a wonderful stay at Paradise Pier and was very happy with our rate through Orbitz.

I thought the rates were a bit on the high side; however, the convenience of being on Disney property is nice. The walk to Downtown Disney is about 5 minutes depending on your walking speed. I really liked the shortcut into California Adventure via the Grand California Hotel. Just follow the signs. Early entry is well worth the cost of staying onsite as long as you actually use the early entry. I like the beach theme and the Disney touches; although, the flooring on the first floor doesn't match the theme really... too formal. The signature smell of suntan lotion is a nice touch. PCH Grill character breakfast was just ok. Overpriced and the characters don't come around enough. My two youngest grand-kids loved it though, so I'm glad we did it the first morning. Gift shop is typical expensive Disney, but if you need sundry items, it has them.

I would highly recommend this hotel. close to the parks and downtown disney. the staff was very friendly and helpful on where to eat for dinner, and what to do in the parks they have an excellent pool with a huge pool. I plan on staying there in the future. the only thing I'm not concerned about is that you have to pay for parking.

Elevator was broken and had to walk down 9 flights of stairs with luggage. Staff was rude about it.

Great experience. Everyone was helpful and courteous
