y husband and I stayed at the Copper Beech Inn for the third time in 3 years. As always, our experience was great. We love the inn's bar and the Oak Room restaurant. Fabulous dinner! The accommodations are up to date, spacious and clean. And the breakfast is perfect. I highly recommend it and cannot wait to go back yet again. PS Go on the Essex steam train while you are there.
We had always heard great things about the Copper Beech Inn, but I guess they were probably comments about the restaurant, not the B&B. When we finally got a chance to stay there, we were somewhat disappointed by what we found. The link between a casement window in our room and the window crank had broken, so that we could crank the window open but had to go outside to push it closed. The tub didn't drain well at all, and the room furnishings seemed old, tired, and ready for a makeover. Since we didn't have dinner at the Inn, I can't comment on the restaurant, but I hope it lives up to all we've heard about it. We wouldn't plan to stay at the Copper Beech again.
Dining at the Copper Beech Inn is an excellent experience. Staff, service and meals are wonderful. The breakfast was superb and memorable. Wine list provides selections for all tastes and price points. Our dinner in the tavern room was very nice with live acoustic guitar background music. The grounds surrounding the inn are lovely. Our room (# 212) in the Carriage House, has photos on the Inn website. It is false advertising. The room was dark, devoid of any decor or ambience. Our stay was overall a disappointment.
Our room was "super deluxe" in the Comstock House (behind the main building), so it was spacious and had a great bathroom. The breakfasts were very good and the staffers were friendly. But the place needs some workers! The "lawn" was nothing but overgrown weeds and lots of things needed a fresh coat of paint. When we checked in, there was no offer to help us get our bags up the steep steps to our room. If you are looking for "spit and polish" and attentive service, this is not the place for you.
We came from Delaware and NYC to see a play nearby. The rooms are really beautiful. We had a big group for dinner at the restaurant and it was a great dining experience. Breakfast on the terrace was very cool. We had a hiccup with the online registration system but the manager handled this perfectly and refunded the difference. That's 5 star customer service. Thanks.
Our room in the Comstock House at Copper Beech Inn was spacious, with a comfortable king bed and well-outfitted bathroom. Each morning's breakfast was very good, with the staff and chef capably accommodating my gluten-free requirement. While the room was spacious, upkeep could be improved: It was very dark (esp. at the desk), we had several ants, the cold water faucet provided lukewarm water, the wall-mounted TV was angled poorly for viewing, the driveway was treacherously rutted and the room safe wasn't working.
We just had our wedding at the Copper Beech Inn and I couldn't have asked for better. The food was to die for the staff was attentive and on top of everything. The only problem we ran into was it turned out to be the hottest day of the year so far but that sure wasn't the Inns fault. Chef Carlos, thank you! Claudia, you put up with me for a year and you were always kind even though you must have wanted to shoot me. The entire staff was top notch. Thank you for making our day so special. The first room we checked in to smelled of mold, the floor was slanted and was decorated in early Goodwill. We complained and were given an upgrade....sort of. Creaky floor, pealing wall paper and an under construction deck. Marginally better. Oh and the best part: all for just $400. We’ll do yourself a favor and stay in a Red Roof Inn.
The room was like an old fashioned hotel, with all the modern amenities. Beautiful claw foot bath, big bathroom. Main room was very big, again with an old fashioned feel but obviously well maintained and modern.
Another wonderful trip to the Copper Beech Inn. Rooms are always clean and the staff is gracious and treats you like family. Meals are made with capable hands and flavors to please. Thank you for a quiet, comfortable weekend.
