I needed reasonably priced accommodation for a medical trip to Kelowna and opted for this. Check in was easy and the front desk agent was pleasant, as well as helpful when I misunderstood directions. My room was a little drab, but clean and I really just needed a place to sleep. If you're used to little/no traffic you might want to ask for a room that's farther back from the road. The grounds were well kept but I was surprised not to find a recycling bin in my room. Definitely need to change that. It was handy to have a fridge in the room although it was sometimes a little louder than I'd prefer. The walls seemed fairly thin - there were a few times when it sounded like my elderly neighbours were dragging furniture along our shared wall (but I don't think they were!). I really liked that the light in the toilet/tub area (sink/vanity is outside the bathroom) isn't super bright - makes it easier if you have to get up in the night and not be blinded in an unfamiliar place. Continental breakfast was the usual: a few bagel, bread and cereal options along with coffee, tea and juice.
Our room had a king-size bed, flat screen tv, fridge, microwave, coffee maker. and air conditioner. Nice bathroom, very clean, quiet. We arrived very late( after midnight) due to flight delays. We were checked in quickly, with no fuss, by a very helpful owner, whom had waited for us.I had contacted them 2 days before and told them we were going to be delayed due to connections into Kelowna. The staff was very courteous, helpful and most of all made our stay enjoyable. We needed the room for an extra night, we were moved 2 doors down to a bigger room, at a reasonable price. I will definitely be staying at this establishment again.
This room was neat and clean, great room for the price. Would stay again no problem. It was nice that we had a sitting room outside the bedroom to watch TV, and a door on the bedroom. Great location as it is across from a shopping mall and one block off the main road to the lake.
we booked in and we were given a pet friendly room that was very small and dark. it was hot in September and the air condition didn't work so we called the desk and they came by to check it. The woman was very obvious in her dislike dogs and covered her nose saying she was allergic to them. (not very pet friendly) She fiddled with the air conditioner to no avail and about an hour later she came back and gave us another room a bit larger but the air conditioner worked. There is nowhere on the grounds to walk a dog and the signs said "no pets on the lawn" we had to walk on the streets nearby and found a dog park a few blocks away. not a great area either.
My wife booked a stay here in advance and we didn't read the reviews on Tripadvisor till we'd checked in. We were surprised at what happened to some travellers but can only report our experience. First off, the lady at check-in wasn't exactly surly, she just seemed um, "indifferent." She couldn't find our reservation by name so we had to get the number and after some scrabbling, she found it. It seems with the competition in the hospitality industry these days, someone at the desk should be (at the least), somewhat welcoming. Oh, and she never mentioned anything about the included "breakfast," which was very rudimentary and we only discovered it when we checked out. There was toast, coffee, cereal and a few muffins but no place to sit so I guess you either stand or take it back to your room. Still, the check in lady really SHOULD have mentioned it but she really seemed as if she'd rather be anywhere else. The other lady that was there when we checked out was fine - she should be the one to check the guests in as she at least had a personality. Anyway, go the room and it was fine. No problems with the toilet (as reported here), the shower was at a good height, and I'm 6 - 3, tap water was fine, there was shampoo, soap, lots of towels, glasses, cups etc. The wi-fi worked fine and was very fast and the TV worked great with lots of channels. The only thing that rather worried me was that when we went out for dinner, we had to exit around the back of the northernmost building and when we rounded the corner, one of the um, guests was sitting out front of his unit, with a pipe of some sort and a lighter, obviously ingesting some type of illegal substance. He saw us and quickly hid the paraphenalia, which kind of confirmed what it was. Still, we had no issues and you're likely to run into this anywhere these days. Other than the noise from the fairly busy street that the Oasis is located on, it was quiet, there was zero partying and we slept great. It's not the Ritz Carlton but our experience definitely contradicts what some other reviewers have noted. It's a bargain motel in a high-rent area. We'd definitely stay there again.
I'm writing this review from my room in the main building, this is my secomd time staying here. Previous stay was Sept 2015, I'm quite surprised at some of the bad reviews on here because I've never seen any of that during my stays. Room's were always clean, bedding clean crisp and white. We were always offered house keeping and staff is always very friendly. If I had to say anything it's that more than 1/2 the motel is booked by bikers up for a bike run, lots of partying going on. Which is fine by me but staff knows this is the weekend every year this happens and they put a family with a 9 month old baby right in between all these guys rooms. I can't help but feel a little sorry for that family, I sure hope the baby isn't being disturbed. Also a bit of fruit for the continental breakfast would be nice. Other than that this place will always be my go to place when visiting Kelowna.
Great stay, clean rooms and very helpful staff! When initially reading reviews we were unsure what was waiting for us... Upon check in (which had interact machine issues) we were looked after and checked in early with ease! We had no issues recommend this as a great place to call home base while exploring the area.
The Motel was nice. All that one would want. Pool Breakfast Clean Kept-up The problem was a hidden one. Something you would never expect. A picture, above the bed, fell off the wall, and hit my husband on the head. NOT GOOD Not often something like this would happen. We informed the manager and got No apology, No outward concern, and Nothing complimentary for being injured. POOR POOR POOR Good thing it wasn't a child that was injured.
We booked this hotel last minute after mechanical issues on my motorcycle rerouted our trip. It was inexpensive for Kelowna and I booked it on the side of the road while waiting for the tow truck. After I booked it I read more reviews and was worried about the quality of the hotel. We arrived expecting the worst and were pleasantly surprised. The quality is good for a motel and the bathrooms have been redone. It is an older building but they have done a good job of sprucing it up and keeping it clean. I have stayed in much worse for more money. They even gave us a late checkout so we had time to get my motorcycle fixed. Overall a good stay in a pinch! This place deserves better than 32 out of 34 hotels in Kelowna!
I remember.staying at motels with a courtyard outdoor pool when I was a kid and I wanted to give my child this experience. For the most part thie oasis fulfilled that memory. It was great to pull in after a long drive and get great hotel reception, park the car and get into a large, clean outdoor pool on a hot Kelowna summer evening. The hotel was conveniently located to restaurants and so we went for supper close by and then came back for the night to sleep. The bed was comfortable, sheets crisp, bathroom clean but the air conditioning unit was extremely loud. Since it was 39 above sleeping without the a/c would have been intolerable. I didn't sleep through the night I finally at 5 in the morning unplugged the thing and finally had peace to sleep. I described the a/c as a monster growling through the night. For this reason I would not book again I feel really disappointed as I love the old fashioned environment. I witnessed many families using the bbq's and sitting outside using the patio furniture. I just really value a good night's sleep so I would look for the same sort of place with more up to date a/c.
