In a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom room 802. Perfect stay. Yes a tiny little bit dated but with the view and mattress comfort we had who cares!! We had ALL creature comforts, washer, dryer, fridge, freezer. Just book!
My wife and i had been in Hawaii for 4 days before her parents and sister arrived to join us, so we had stayed at the Coconut further back from the beach and then 2 nights at Turtle Bay. We decided on the 0202 larger room to sleep the 5 of us at Waikiki Shore and it was an excellent choice. It is so close to the beach that you could do a long jump from the balcony and be in the water (well might need a new world record). Being so close and low on the first floor or second floor in US speak, there is some noise associated with the room as you have the "laneway/walk" on one side and the beach, small outdoor eatery at the front BUT on the positive side you are in A1 position for the evening sunsent which draws great little crowds, the Friday night fireworks and just people watching from the balcony. The rooms are ok with the back main bedroom having a great ensuite, ceiling fan and air con but it has only two high windows with louvre type windows. Wasn't the best room for sleeping as the ceiling fan didn't work and with no real windows to speak of, we had to rely on the air con. The big lounge/dining and kitchen area is great and works really well for a large group, could easily have a small party in there if you wanted. Easy access to the beach and heaps of water craft right below you if you want to paddle, surf or snorkel.
Stayed at the Outrigger Shores with two other couples. We each arranged a one bedroom condo. Location superb. Views amazing (ensure you book an ocean view). Each room is a different fit out but each couple felt that there where positives and negatives in each. All 100% clean and comfortable. Easy access to transport, shopping, restaurants and the beach is a few steps away. View of fireworks from the Hilton on Friday night was amazing. If your looking for a reasonably priced well located comfortable stay then this is it.
Great location in Wikiki. Older building, very rustic. Lots of noise from city, but can still hear the ocean. We had a larger room to begin with, but they were doing a demolition next door that was very noisy all day. We were moved to a studio, very tiny. Bathrooms old, but I liked that there was a washer and dryer. I tend to like more amenities, so I'm not sure I would come back. The location was lovely. We had a view of the beach from our room.
The complex is old bu has been and is still being updated. We had a 2 bedroom garden view room which was spacious and had everything we needed. The only issue we had was the noise from the roadway and the pedestrians late at night ( would recommend a room closer towards the beach). The proximity to the beach, shops and restaurants is ideal though.
I made the reservation through Booking.com. The room they gave us on the first two nights was awful. It was on the second floor. However Mr Ching and Rochelle were kind enough to give us a different room. This is on the third floor. Much bigger room and totally renovated. So when making reservation please be careful and make sure you get a room third floor or higher. Thank you again for your kindness Mr Ching and Rochelle.
The place is a little older then the other hotels nearby and shares units with renters and condo owners which I think offers a more relaxed and quiet feel. We were a little unsure at first, but quickly warmed up to the room as it had been fully furnished and re done. It was spacious and offered a pretty good view of the park and the beach. The walls are a bit thin, and one view is literally of the hotel next door. Also, there was quite a bit of construction going on and we could hear it going on all day as it seems they are updating other units in the building. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would re visit here as the location is top notch and it still offers a quieter relaxed feel.
First up I have to say its a lottery on what room/apartment you get, ours was tired, old, outdated, rundown (you get the drift), but or friends had a fabulously updated, comfortable apartment just a few doors down. Not sure how you can choose, I think it's just first come first serve on the one you get. We loved the position, we love the ease, we loved the kitchen and full fridge, loved the turtles just out front of the hotel, would have loved a car park spot that we didn't have to pay $35/night for, but all up an enjoyable stay, not sure I would stay again unless guaranteed and updated apartment.
While this accommodation is well positioned, for 3 women travelling together it was disappointing. 1 friend had a very large bedroom with a king bed while the other two of us had a room only suitable for children. It was very small with 2 single beds. Another issue is that we have been here 3 days but have not had a working television or phone and the floors in the condo were filthy. I am very disappointed after having paid over $1000 just for my share for 5 nights and i know my friends agree.
When you first check into Waikiki Shore, you think man this sure is plain. Compared to the lobbies of the larger hotels. But, when you enter your condo, the breath is just knocked out of you. Its like having your own apartment. We stayed on the ocean side and the view was remarkable. The condo is fully stacked, even with a rice cooker. The location is perfect, close to everything all within walking distance. Good view, Great location. Problem is...that now I want all of my stays in a place like this. Mark & Sylvia
