Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort

Had a corner ocean view room in late February 2017. Corner rooms are much more spacious than regular rooms. Enjoyed the welcome cocktail. Location right on the beach is hard to beat, although the actual beach in front of the hotel is so narrow and crowded that you nearly had to sit on people for a place on the beach. The ocean bottom is also very rocky about 10 feet from shore. The pool is small and should be much warmer than it is (I measured 75 while the ocean was 77), but it was clean and towels were always available. The Shore Bird restaurant is always good (though you do have to cook your own food). The poolside restaurant had great music but the food was terrible while the drink we decent. They charge a $30 resort fee, which is now pretty much standard throughout Waikiki, but you actually get something for it...a daily newspaper (including the Sunday edition), daily bottled water, and a very nice trolley service. We took the trolley for a tour around the area which took us to Diamond Head. Our driver (Henry) even parked on the side of the road and serenaded us with his ukulele. He was really good and a highlight of our trip! One negative: Got there at 1pm and was told that the previous guest had checked out of our room but it still had to be cleaned. While check in is at 3pm, figured they might get someone there quicker to get it cleaned. Didn't get a call until 3pm on the nose. Ask for a late check out since they take forever to clean the dice

I had to work and was not able to take in all what Outrigger reef have to offer. I will, in the future, not hesitate to stay at this property and not work, but explore and experience the benefits it welcomes.

Personal muy agradable y muy profesional , el personal es muy atento y tienen acceso directo a la playa, tiene 3 restaurantes de diferente estilo de comida; show en las noches ,picina espectacular y tres jacuzzis..

This is my favorite Waikiki hotel. I have stayed here several times. Great location, great restaurants, and the most popular beachfront bar in Waikiki.

The Hotel and Staff were so friendly and there to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The room was very clean and well maintained. Stayed on the eighth floor over looking the swimming pool with a partial view of the ocean which was just perfect. The pool area was large enough to lounge around without being crowded and still having your privacy. The location to me was perfect, busy but still quiet. Lewers Ave. is my favorite street. Everything close by for anything that you might need. The ABC store on Lewers was like a super market and very handy for almost anything. The Shore Bird Resturant disappointed me a couple of times however there were many other nice Resturants close by. One word would some this whole mini vacation up and that is "Yes I would recommend this Hotel to anyone and yes I will be back to stay here again in the future". Thank You

In addition to a smooth check-in; they had our itinerary ready for us to review. All we had to do was 'show up for pick up'. The Hoku Hawaii Tour company drivers were all fantastic, friendly, and informative. The hotel also had Lei making, hula lessons, (& etc) in the beautiful open lobby. Everyone was very kind.

The room was spacious, comfortable and clean! Hotel staff was gracious from check-in to departure!!! Loved the 24 hour valet service!!! The view of Diamond Head and sunset from the Shorebird was breathtaking! Would stay here again without a doubt! Thanks you for making this return to Oahu a trip to remember!! Mahalo and Aloha!!!

Great facility in the middle of west Waikiki activity. Small. Cozy beach w/no room to move around. Has everything.

Wonderful hotel great location great everything! Will be back! Had a great room with great view! Loved it!

Went to Hawaii for our honeymoon. Great location walking distance from plenty of various restaurants and shops. Activities are reasonably priced and very convenient for those without their own transportation.

The hospitality at the hotel was excellent they greeted us with cold towels and guava passion fruit refreshments

Right on the beach right in the heart of Waikiki. It was beautifully decorated Hawaiian style with ocean outrigger themes. The restaurants and gift shops were very nice. The staff were super friendly. Room was beautiful and we had a no room view. At first I thought that meant literally no view or window, but we had a large sliding glass door with a deck or lanai and a view of the hotel and you could see the ocean if you peeked around the corner. Loved it and wish we were still there.

Nice hotel, however paid extra to have more ocean view (instead of partial ocean view) as the reservation advertises and received a partial blocked peek-a-boo view. Once there had to pay even more for upgrade to a better but still poor ocean view. I felt deceived about the ocean view I paid extra to have and did not. Room very clean. Overall was nice.

Nice hotel close to beach I like that,I will come back

We picked this hotel based on the beach access and proximity to Waikiki action. Great value.

We enjoyed staying at the Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort. The staff was extremely helpful especially Natasha at the front desk and John at the Valet desk. Activities were planned throughout the week taking place around the resort. They were fun to watch or participate in! The concierge was very helpful in finding activities to do and nearby restaurants. We would go back again! One word of caution, we booked through one of the online services and they did not accurately describe the rooms. Highly recommend looking at the official website for the room description to avoid having to move rooms part way through your stay to get what you want. Aloha!

Hotel was clean, comfortable. The staff was friendly. Right on the beach which was nice. The resort fees + Parking fees are a little pricey.

perfect spot loved it great every one was helpful

Really nice I will go back every chance I get and will tell all my friends about Outrigger reef Waikiki beach resort hotel if they take a vacation in Honolulu Hawaii

The Outrigger Reef has been a staple of Waikiki since the 1950's but by no means is a dated facility. The current decor is beautiful and simple. Lobby area is nicely appointed, fine wood trim, glass cases featuring Hawaiian cultural artifacts and items. Outrigger canoe and reef sea-life themed art work throughout the hotel. Wall behind reception desk has over a dozen gorgeous oil paintings of various types of outrigger canoes. Reception desk is at table height with comfy chairs to sit in while you check in. Rooms are clean, have small fridge and safe, coffeemaker (didn't use it thought, Starbucks is next to the lobby). View from room depends on what floor you are on and how close to the ocean side you are.
