I spent 2 nights here with work and I was really impressed by the hotel. The room are large, well presented and clean. It’s great to have a pool, sauna and steam room on site too. What I really liked about the hotel was the efficiency of sorting out problems - I had a hairdryer missing and my kettle had stopped working, both of which were sorted within 10mins. When at 4am my ‘neighbours’ returned and started playing loud music, a quick call to reception resulted in them coming straight up and speaking to the inconsiderate guests which I really appreciated. I would definitely stay here again.
Unfortunately, the hotel let the staff down. The staff were fab really helpful and after helping us with an error on our booking very quickly we were given the keys to our room. Oh dear !! It's was very small with marks on the carpet and the impressive looking shower cut out half way though the "shampooing process" the shower tray filled up and would not drain away so my husband manually plunged the plug with his hands so that he could shower (it was nearly midnight) we just wanted to shower and sleep! The small double (we actually booked a twin) but again it was late when we got there so couldn't be bothered with causing a fuss and having to change rooms, was uncomfortable, we were provided with 3 pillows between the two of us and one bath towel and one hand towel?? It's ok we shared! There was a homeless man asleep out the front of the hotel wrapped in a plastic silver blanket who later in walked into the hotel reception pleading for a blanket, not sure if they gave him one I HOPE THEY DID as it was bitterly cold outside. I needed to stay in Nottingham for a second night but didn't feel this hotel was for me so went else where, a Shame really as, as previously mentioned the staff were really lovely but the standard of our room let them down and caused us to check out the following day and go elsewhere. Pros: free parking, friendly staff but unfortunately that's is all.
I stayed at the Park Inn this weekend for the Sci-Fi Conference Novacon 47, where I was doing an author signing. It was a really nice friendly hotel, the cosmopolitan staff were courteous and helpful. Nothing was difficult for them, from sorting out my credit card authorisation to getting me poached eggs for breakfast each morning. I'm not sure if this makes me sound sad, but the four large car parks were amazing and all free if you stayed at the hotel - I was spoilt for choice. The hotel also has a pool and I was gutted that I forgot my cossie. I wish they had sold costumes, just a basic black number would have done. My room was huge, something to do with being in the newer side building, though I found the lower ceilings a bit claustrophobic and I'm short. The bed was huge too, I later realised it was two singles glued (not literally) together. I loved the walk-in shower room too. Other extras I didn't expect in the hotel was the tea/coffee set up - great. Plus, you could get room service, which I never got round to. Because in most hotels they seem to be moving over to that horrible liquid soap which is supposed to clean everything from your hands to your hair! Really! I'd brought my own. Imagine my surprise to find bonafide Dove soap inside all the dispensers. I ate in the hotel restaurant for every meal and there wasn't anything I didn't like, from the lovely griddled vegetables at breakfast, to the burgers, pate, smashing fishcakes and scrummy crème brulee with home-made white chocolate cookies in the evening. I didn't need to look further for food. I was therefore surprised beforehand, when on my arrival at the hotel at 8pm Friday night, I asked the reception staff about getting meals, to be informed that the pub and curry house over the road were great. I queried this information as I thought the hotel had a restaurant on site. Maybe it was closed, I thought. The male staff, advised me that they did have a restaurant and when I asked if it was open, he replied that last orders for meals were are 9.30. If I was the manager I'd be expecting my staff to promote the in-house restaurant first, not the competitors across the road. I did leave wondering whether he received some kind of reward for his sales pitch. At one point my curiosity drove me over the death-trap of a highway to investigate the receptionist's recommended gastro-pub only to find it was a hideous Sports Bar, my worse fear realised. A huge TV on every wall blaring out football while loud, open-mouthed eaters roared their approval - each to their own - it definitely wasn't the calm, relaxed food haven I prefer. Any issues? First the noise somewhere outside my room on the third floor. I tried to identify it and other residents told me it was the AC/heating unit. I heard it so often through the night I tried finding a similar noise to compare it with. These are few sounds it reminded me of: 1) The sound of endless rolling thunder 2) The rockets popping at the end of a firework display. 3) A kettle approximately 4 foot across reaching boiling point. 4) Someone playing African drums on the floor above me. Following the advice I received about the AC unit. It was cold in my room - 18C - I was tempted to do what they said and turn it off to stop the noise which lasted 30 seconds every few minutes. Instead I managed to turn it up, no thanks to the instructions stuck on the wall in size 9 font, in white writing on a light blue background with no direct light to read by. Even with glasses I couldn't make it out and just kept pressing various buttons until the numbers changed to 21 which didn't make any difference to the noise. I still don't know what I did so please don't ask me that question. Overall, a pleasant stay with good food, a bit over-priced but worth it. I'd stay again if I was in this area because of the great car parking, dove soap, food and the staff.
This hotel is Ok but more premier inn than Radisson. Gym is small with limited equipment . Room was clean and spacious. Bar and Dining room dated. Breakfast was very strange with limited choice and not good value for the money charged.
Room was nice and clean. Breakfast was lovely, with lots of different options. There was the usual, cereal, pastries, full English with bacon, eggs etc. Would stay again if I needed to return to Nottingham.
Room was small, hardly any where to put clothes, swimming pool was situated on the lower ground floor ( level 1 ). breakfasts were ok, but had to wait for any staff to realise I required tea . drinks over priced. Guinness was via cans
Main disappointment was the room, with a heavily stained carpet, bottom sheet too small for bed so I ended up on mattress without even a mattress protector... EEWWW. No better after reporting it to reception, also some weird noise throughout the night like gurgling drains? Not sure if it was the heating, Burnt my finger on faulty kettle that wouldn’t turn off. Not even a little biscuit with your coffee. £8+ for a glass of mediocre wine! Had a swim which was pleasant but lockers only take old £1 coins. Manager offered to watch my valuables behind the desk, but I then saw him clearing up equipment around the pool! Leaving my bag unattended I assume.
Stayed on Friday and Saturday night. Had drinks and ate in the hotel Friday. Food well presented, service excellent.Breakfast, good choices of both hot and cold, well worth the money. Excellent Hotel as a base to explore the area.

Steph looked after our group booking from start to finish and did a great job of sorting out rooms, meals and generally making our stay easy to organise. Parking was good and the rooms comfortable although could hear noise in corridors . Good selection for breakfast. Would book again.
