I Stayed in this hotel as I had an early business meeting the next morning. I wish I had never stayed. I was unable to sleep at all due to the extremely loud power generator. I called reception at 01:30, they informed me that they could not call an engineer nor move me to another room as they were fully booked. Having looked at TripAdvisor now I can see that the staff member was not telling the whole truth....no engineer was needed as from reading tripadvisor reviews I can see that the loud generator was not a one off at all, it is a known issue which customers complain about again and again however nothing has been done to rectify it. Park Inn - STOP filling the rooms affected by the noisy generator, you will cont nice to get complaints and extremely unhappy customers. I will never stay here again.
I gave this hotel 4 stars because there is no option to give 3.5. 3 seems harsh but 4 seems generous. Anyway, it was ok. It was quite like a Travelodge but I am happy that in terms of value, I got what I paid for. The hotel is on a main road but my room was at the back so I didn't experience any traffic noise. The staff were friendly and helpful. My first impression of the room when I walked in was that it was very small with barely enough room to walk between the bed and the wall. I am skinny so I got by, but a larger person may struggle. I appreciated the air conditioning; it did a really good job of cooling down the room. There were a few stains on the carpet but it wasn't a big deal. Obviously the carpet had been hovered but I think it would have benefitted from a bit of carpet cleaner or one of those vacuums that washes - or maybe just a new carpet. The bed was extremely comfortable. Most of the bathroom was clean but the shower plughole was not. This wouldn't have mattered but someone had taken the plug out and left it on the side so it was an open drain with a load of disgusting gunk in it. It is almost like someone took the plug out with the intention of cleaning it, then got distracted and left. Alas, I did not take a shower. I slept really well due to the comfortable mattress but I think I got rather lucky with my neighbours. I think the walls must be quite thin because I could hear the couple upstairs talking until around midnight. It all quietened down after that, hence why I was able to have a good night's sleep, but if they had kept talking I probably would have been kept awake. It was actually a struggle to get up in the morning because of how comfortable the bed was - I did not want to leave it! But I'm glad I did because breakfast was really good. Overall, I would probably consider coming back here if I was in the area again but I wouldn't rush back. 3.5 stars - "It was alright"
Have stayed here twice in last 3 weeks. Staff very pleasant, but rooms tiny, bed had seen better days, and a stained carpet. Apart from carpet room was clean with nice shower. It's convienant, but nothing special. Better value for money about if I'm honest
Very small double room. No wardrobe- just an open rail with hangars. Not much storage space.. Shower room good, however. On arrival, asked if we needed to book a time/table for dinner. Told not necessary. Went down to eat early evening but was turned away because the kitchen could not cope with the numbers wanting to eat. Was told I should have booked! Dining room more of a canteen. Breakfast was noisy and full of bustle.. Not a relaxing experience. Food just ok. Large groups congregate at the main door to smoke with the inevitable problem of smoke entering the reception areas - awful for non smokers.
I stayed one night for a business trip as the hotel I usually book was full. The entrance is ok, bit dated and the lady at reception pleasant. As soon as I opened my room door on the first floor I saw a pattern of an iron on the carpet where a previous guest had obviously chosen to do some ironing! The was a piece of dirt on the bedroom chair, the bathroom sink was cracked and the bottom of the plug hadn't seen a scrubbing brush in a long time! It really is a good 30 mins walk into the centre which is fine if you're not on business, so I used cabs to get around. The accommodation was £110.00 for the night - not good value. The benefits, thankfully the bed was clean and comfortable and hotel quiet. The gym was well equipped too.
Rooms basic buy small beds not very comfortable went for someones wedding prices to expensive £3.50p for a pint of coke which they was buyin cheap from a supermarket across the road at £1.80p for 2 litres beer and wine prices sky high would not stop there again
Recently decorated rooms are nice enough, a bit on the small side and mattress was old and ripped. On a main road and thin walls so quite noisy also. But great location - lots of restaurants within walking distance and just 20 mins walk to the city centre/the Victoria Centre. Reception staff very friendly and helpful, but staff aren't so efficient in the bar/restaurant - slow service and didn't answer phone for room service order. Mostly geared towards the business/ conference centre visitor but nice enough for a night or two.
Good value and parking included. Accessible to city centre at a 20 minute walk. Lovely variety at breakfast. Small room but clean and modern. Friendly staff. Nice bar area and good drinks selection. Would recommend this hotel for business trips.
We held my silver wedding anniversary there on the 20th. The event was beautiful, the service was perfection. We stayed over night, rooms are small but complete. I had nothing but praise from my guests about the food, tables, drinks, service. Breakfast the choice was vast with very healthy options. Wonderful hotel with amazing staff.
We arrived on a Saturday afternoon in readiness for a surprise party. We aren't from the area so knew of no hotels to stay in other than this one where the party was held. On arrival we got charged with a 25 charge incase we got anything charged to the room which we didn't intend to do plus payment for the room for the night. Haven't had the £25 back credited to my boyfriends account. At 20 past 6 after having showers we found that their was a terrible leak from the air conditioning from. Having had enough my boyfriend went downstairs and insisted we move rooms straight away as we needed to be downstairs and ready for the surprise party at 6:45pm in time for when the birthday girl arrived. We were relocated to room 201 and god knows why we weren't given this room to begin with... Room 259 was absolutely disgusting, the carpet looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months, there were some suspicious looking stains on the carpet and a potent smell coming from the toilet in the bathroom. My boyfriend has been in contact with yourselves and has been promised a refund by Kathryn Haig and nothing has since been sorted since nearly a week and a half from the visit. This needs sorting today! I certainly won't be visiting this hotel again or any Radisson Blu hotels in the future. All of the rooms need a revamp and some severe TLC. This is a right shame because the 60th party we attended was fantastic!
