If you like the conventional this is just what the traveler requires. Good clean comfortable good service from staff What more could you ask for the price.
This is a great little hotel with a team of staff that deliver great customer service. They also offer vouchers to eat at the venue next door which you can purchase for £7.50 and receive a £10 voucher to spend on food and drinks
The staff assisted us by providing accommodation for us overnight in an emergency. They were considerate and helpful. The facilities were clean and spacious. It would be good to have a lift. Rather stuffy in the bedroom. Thank you very much.
I originally made the reservation through a booking website. When I rang the hotel to check the reservation was in place, the Receptionist told me she couldn't find it; I waited while she checked. Categorically, it wasn't there she said. Eventually all sorted and OK. Spent ages on the 'phone while this was done. Then got a call back 10 minutes later to say she'd got the wrong date because she'd assumed we were staying on the Monday night, not the Sunday. She should have listened to what I'd said in the first place! Got to the hotel. Was told I should book directly in future to get better rates, and not to book through another site! Was asked if I was a Rewards Member: I said "no". Was asked if I would like to enrol: said "no, thank you. Am unlikely to have use of a points cards as we don't often stay in hotels". This morning, have received an email confirming my enrolment in the rewards programme. Why? The hotel is OK but the room we stayed in was very tired. Clean but tired. The mattress was completely knackered and was like sleeping on a griddle or a waffle iron with all the springs sticking in us; had to put another duvet over the mattress so we could get some sleep. As we left this morning, the service station was full of football fans; not a problem but as our room was at the back of the hotel, we woke to the pleasant view of an endless parade of gentlemen unzipping their flies, relieving themselves behind the hotel and zipping back up again! Lovely.
Great convenient overnight location for visiting Crick boat festival. The Days Inn looks tired and needs some serious updating especially the bathroom but what stood out was the excellent customer service from the reception staff especially the manager.
We have used Days Inn at Watford Gap Services on the M1 several times now, and have always found the staff to be helpful and efficient, the rooms clean and comfortable, and the adjacent services (24hrs) a bonus. Thankyou
we've stayed here a few times, so we knew it wasn't the best hotel. On every occasion we've stayed we've requested disabled rooms for my husband who has mobility issues and finds stairs (and walking in general) troublesome. Last time we had the room that was upstairs the longest walk possible along what was a very poorly lit corridor. This time we had a disabled access room and, oh boy, what a treat! The bed was on wheels so if you sat on it or tried to get it it went wheeling away from you. The bathroom had plenty of grab rails etc but the traditional door had been replaced by a sliding door. Sounds good but it was very badly fitted indeed. The gap around the door meant you had no bathroom privacy at all, and when my hubby came back while I was in the bath he could see me, in the bath, through the door gap WHILE HE WAS STILL IN THE CORRIDOR OUTSIDE THE ROOM! Also, although there was desk / dressing table the mirror was so far from any light source as to be pointless and the gap between desk and bed was so small you couldn't really sit there at all. Also it may be time for new mattresses? You have the choice of clinging to the edge and balancing precariously and uncomfortably as far away from each other as possible (and very still) or you could just roll into the dip in the middle of the bed and sleep squished right up against each other!!! On the plus side, 4 good pillows. The room was pretty clean if a little jaded. Also beware of providing an email address 'for confirmation' when you book in, they signed me up for a reward card even though I clearly said I did not want one.
Didn't realise when booking that the hotel was the south bound side of the motorway and the signs to get to it from the north bound side where almost not existent but other wise no problems
I've stayed in worse hotels but only in Africa. Filthy, bed broken, shower broken and regularly woken up from fitful sleep by what I can only assume was plumbing. Dreadful.
Excellent value for money. Booked at very short notice while at service station. The staff were very co-operative. Were offered welcome water drink and chocs at reception on checkin. Every thing was as it should be in a Service station Bed & Breakfast for the price we paid. Highly recommended.
