Some of the reviews for this hotel seem very harsh when I think of my stay here. I was travelling from the north so getting into the site wasnt an issue. If you are travelling from the south then its a motorway, you could have issues since you cant just jump the central res. The lady on reception greeted me in a friendly manner and took all my details, she also reassured me that the car park system would be updated so I didnt need to pay for parking. My room was much bigger than I expected with a clean and comfy double bed. There was a desk for my laptop and the bathroom was spacious and had a bath so thats a plus. I visited a local indian for my evening meal and got to it using the access road so you dont have to go down the motorway to get into the towns. Very useful and a fact that some people didnt seem to know about on past reviews. The only issue I had that stops this being a 5 star review was that the air con plants for the hotel were outside my window so even though I was far from the motorway it wasnt as quiet as I had hoped, The curtains werent great at keeping light out so by 6am it was very light. These 2 points werent a massive issue for me but it would stop me from bring the family here. I was here on business and needed to get into Daventry the next day. It took my 13 minutes using the access road again so I will use this place again next week. Previous photos are accurate too. Thanks

I had a horrendous journey, limping the car to the holiday inn and awaiting the AA to come and save my car. I had booked in to the hotel for an onward journey the next day, but the AA could not fix my car and hence needed to be towed home. Elizabeth the manager was superb, initially handing me a free bottle of water and some chocolate to help ease the stress, she had made sure the room was ground floor and at the back where it would be cooler for me and my two dogs. She kept me company, gave me clear directions of where to walk the dogs in the morning, the room was clean and fresh for a holiday inn, excellent! My car was towed away at 2am and the reception staff kept the key and dealt with the recovery driver.. So lovely to find some reception staff that care and excellent customer care...

To start with was all fine, staff at the desk were lovely and helpful, the room on the other hand was a different story.... there were crumbs on the table, hairs on the unit with the tele and around the tea and coffee station (ewww). The bed wasn’t even flat, feet were raised up and head was down (weird slant position to sleep in). And to top it off, my MAC lipstick that I put on the unit some how went missing!!! Disgusting and disappointing that you leave your stuff there with full trust, and come back to things going missing! You also have to go half way around the world to even get to the hotel, the address takes you to what looks like some ones private back garden (no hotel to be seen for another 5-10mins once you found a way of getting there) with a pot hole galore road down the middle of it. Once you have got out of there, you will then be on more country roads and when you finally find the hotel, it’s a no entry road! You have to get in their by going on the motorway which is also another half an hour round trip which was an absolute waste of fuel, if your planning on going out once you have checked in, DONT BOTHER! Getting into town is easy and about 20 mins, but trying to get back is a nightmare and took nearly an hour! Really inconvenient hotel (if you can even call it that). Would not recommend this hotel, and if you are brave enough to stay then keep your belongings with you!!

I sadly experienced something I’ve never experienced before at ANY hotel - I was rudely told to leave! My booking confirmation clearly stated that checkout time was 12pm. 11am I had a bashing at the door and told I had to leave. I pointed out my email confirmation said 12 pm but the answer I got back was “no 11 - you go” I was shocked and offended by the appalling rudeness and spoke to another of the cleaning ladies. Same answer “no 11 - you go” I’m furious to be told so rudely to get out. There was no attempt to be reasonable “11 - you go” I’ve sent off a complaint to Days Inn and shall wait with interest to read their reply. If nothing more these two appalling women need to be sent on a customer care course for immediate training sessions. I’ll make sure NEVER to stop at this hotel again.

Whilst we weren't expecting a 5 start hotel, we were disappointed with the standard of this property. First, the decoration and appearance is very dated; the corridor leading to our room was unheated; we got in the room, and or first thought was

Stayed on two occaisions within a seven day period - had joined Wyndham Rewards prior to booking and downloaded the app. Made use of deal giving 15000 points - (I night’s free stay after the second night taken - fantastic ! Great app and a wonderful worldwide organisation incorporating hotels of grades - ( I feel part of a useful network in consequence,,,). Great location at Watford Gap - was exactly half way on our route from S. Coast to North Yorkshire on holiday. Liz, the manageress, very friendly and helpful. 25% reduced vouchers for food available at reception to be used at Roadchef outlet or Costa Coffee next door. Wife and I bought £40 in vouchers for dinner and breakfast combined that actually cost just £30 !! What a great deal... Room was huge and en suite bathroom good size and all facilities we required. Bed comfortable and they are dog friendly too - could not believe our luck! Our Roumanian rescue dog was made welcome with treats supplied by the hotel and we had him in the room (£10 per dog, per stay up to three dogs allowed per stay - amazing !!). Checkout officially 11.00 but we were told we could stay till 12.00... I am an ex hotelier and could not fault the deal and level of service we enjoyed. Thank you to Julie too on our return trip who made special efforts for us in obtaining a fan as the weather was hot. Two delightful walks for us and the dog right from the hotel - adjacent picturesque canal tow path, or to Watford village just round the corner served by safe pavement walking. We will come again and have already mentioned the hotel and its assets to our friends and acquaintances.

I was working local, the hotel has an access road and this was very useful as i was travelling northbound the next day. The lady on reception was very friendly and helpful. The services are located in the main building next to the hotel, i ate in the Fresh Food Cafe which was very good.

We were traveling and it was a welcome break affordable considering on M1. Staff very friendly. It is an older hotel but kept clean. Only issue was noisy neighbours above, a family of elephants we think. but that’s not hotels fault.

Parking is a slight enigma on site (Lots available though), GPS by post code can take you to the other side of the motorway - there's a access road across the motorway, but it means going through a 'no entry'. Signage would be a good idea. Reception needs some better thought, receptionist should have a better chair, and there should be more welcoming aesthetics here. Apart from this, the Reception welcome was superb. As a Diamond member, I spend a lot of time with this brand, and almost always get a good welcome across all sites - this site is no different. Staying upstairs, the room is in the accepted standard of Days Inn, it's clean, serviceable, functional. Tea and Coffee is in the room, TV and radio alarm clock. The bed is super comfortable. Additional pillows available in the room. The bathroom is clean, the shower has good power, and plenty of hot water. In the attached rest stop, there's restaurants and a paper shop. This is a good site.

Been here regarding throughout March Handy location for my business meetings Very friendly staff and accommodating Budget prices without feeling like you’ve lost out. I’d certainly use ongoing without hesitation. Well Done Elizabeth & team
