Hotel was fabulous, great lication on the promenade in the old town of nice, made everything walkable. Breakfast was excellent plenty ofchoice and regular refills. Staff even the newest was friendly and helpful. Superior room was very good, comfy bed hot shower and rooms kept clean. Would love to return.
This was our second visit to the hotel and we were not disappointed. The privilege room has all you need, comfortable bed, safe, fridge and excellent shower. The staff are very friendly and helpful and there is a good choice at breakfast. In addition the hotel is in an ideal central location which is also close to the airport bus stops. Well worth a stay.
Four months in advance we paid for our stay at this hotel - for 7 nights. We made a deal where our payment was non-refundable. Our advice: Never do that and never do it through Hotels.com - they won't help you if you are let down by the hotel. When we arrived late in the evening, we got the last room available. The receptionist apologized for the standard of the room but promised that we could get a better room the next day. The room was below standard; 2X2 meters floor space, the bed placed on top of the bathroom. This was not what we paid for. The next day we were offered a standard room (what we had paid for) and later a superior room (an upgrade). But we had lost confidence in the hotel - a deal is between two partners, we had held our part and paid four months in advance, only to be let down by the counterpart, the hotel. So we checked out and found another hotel. The trip became a bit expensive but we could not stay at a hotel we didn't trust. We did, after all, pay 4 months in advance and get the lousiest room in the hotel, below standard. We asked Hotels.com for refund of our payment. They only listened to the arguments from the hotel, not the customer. They were not impressed by our photo documentation - and only followed the hotel's claim that the room we slept in was a standard hotel (that was not what the receptionist told when we arrived). Hotels.com apperently support that a hotel can let a customer down it only they offer compensation the following nights. This is not a kind of business ethics I am used to. Hotels.com offered a 10 per cent compensation - to be used on our next non-refundable prepayment. But we will never use Hotels.com for nonrefundable reservations again. They are not there for the customers, only for the hotels. Please note that all of you out there.
This is a great little hotel ideally sited on the seas front with great views from the front rooms and easy walking distance to the old town just around the back of the hotel. Rooms are clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. This was the end of our trip which included Germany, Switzerland and Italy and having stayed here before we knew it would be a nice conclusion to our tour.
We stayed here a couple of years ago and loved it so didn't hesitate to rebook. First gripe we turned up at 2 to check in and were kept waiting nearly half an hour for the room. This is similar to what happened the previous visit. Last time we stayed in a standard room and this time decided to upgrade to a superior room. How disappointing! The rooms are more expensive and bigger but the room we had really wasn't up to par with our cheaper room last year. Our room had a lovely view out onto a roof top covered in cigarette butts and water from a constantly leaking drain. There was also a generator which meant we didn't open the doors due to the noise. And the extra floor space we had paid for was basically some random bit round to corner with a single chair. Thy could have done so much more with that space! Our cheap room last year at least had a sofa, this room had no 'common area' for us to sit together. I went to speak to reception to say we were unhappy and ask if there were any other rooms available. The only room was a double bed on the front which was more expensive they wanted us to pay the extra per night. I really feel that as we'd already paid in advance they weren't really that bothered.
I stayed here with friends last weekend. The hotel is very centrally located. It is right on the promenade. A very smart little hotel. Close to beach, bars and restaurants. It must have been renovated recently. I would come back and stay here again!
brilliant stay at this hotel, right on the front, just cross the road to be on the promenade, went for the carnival, absolutley brilliant,we have been to nice before ,but this time we caught the bus back to the airport, instead of getting a taxi(taxi from airport to hotel 35 euros,) checked out the bus times at tourist information, had to walk 400 metres to GUSTAV bus stop ,next to the casino, the bus calls at stops then terminal 2 then terminal 1 ,cost 6 euros each,so12 instead of 35 eating out can be pricey but there are lots of places to eat, tends to be cheaper further in from the main frontage
This is a great hotel located right near the flower markets in the old town facing the water. It's been freshly renovated so everything is new. The rooms are lovely and the bathrooms are top quality. Renovated in a modern style. The breakfast is european and continental choices, with a large selection of both.
Small hotel well located near the Cours Saleya and the Opera House. Very friendly and helpful staff. Had a large double suite overlooking the bay. Great views but the room itself was somewhat 'tired' with furniture suffering from age (and not in an antique way!). Facilities extremely limited, very small bar area and no lift.
We've stayed at the Marche Aux Fleurs before, and now know Nice pretty well - although we haven't always stayed here. So why did we choose the Marche Aux Fleurs again? - It's location is just fabulous. 2 minutes from the old town, flower market or beach - right where you want to be as a tourist, and notably most of the bigger/more upscale hotels are in the new town. We wouldn't want to be there. - The staff are fantastic. Always there, polite and responsive when you need them, but also keep a respectful distance. It's a small hotel (despite the Mercure tag), and consequently you are recognised and acknowledged. - The accommodation is clean and extremely comfortable. Not the greatest views, or the swankiest set-up, but the rooms are perfect as a base for a city break. Despite the city centre location, we also found the hotel to be quiet and a welcome retreat at the end of a long day. - Price is extremely good for what you're getting, and where. We've paid far more in Nice for rooms we're less happy with.... We'll definitely be back.
