Albert 1'er Hotel Nice, France

Clean, modern, helpful reception staff. However on the 1st floor is the breakfast cafe. And on the second floor there was such a loud noise reverberating up through to our room from every chair being moved by guests on the wooden floorboards. Also the girls in the room next too us were really loud and our room didn't soundproof it much. Parking is only at the local privately owned multistory car park. $

I strongly recommend this hotel when going to Nice. Specially when you are on a budget and family. They were super friendly with the kids and cooperative with everything we wanted (we insisted with a balcony and they did everything possible to give it). We were looking for breakfasts outside the hotel and everything was expensive and not fulfilling, so we decided to go for the hotel option of breakfast and we weren't disappointed. It was very good for 12€ and a lot of choices to my taste. It isn't a 5star hotel but it fulfills a family small trip to Nice. And location, people this is the place! It is the best location ever!

We stayed at the hotel at the beginning of April and we were pleased with it. It is a big hotel, the bus stop from the airport is right in front of the hotel. The reception is super friendly and very helpful. The rooms (we had a garden view) and quite small but have everything necessary (tea/coffee facilities especially!, the bathroom is clean and modern. The soundproofing is not great so if you are a light sleeper have some earplugs. The hotel has got a toilet/shower facilities and a luggage room in the first floor so if you have a whole day after checking out before you leave you can leave your luggage and even have a shower :) The location is superb. Close to Promenade, Old Town, Railway station (15 min walk or take a tram), bus stops, fortress. We used a train quite a lot to travel to Monaco, Cannes and Antibes. We also went to Saint Paul by bus 400 (a recommendation from the hotel lady - thank you very much!!!) and really enjoyed this lovely place! But be aware that the bus is slow - 1 hour to get there. Also we had a good price on the place. Would definitely recommend the place.

The hotel is fine. Small, but clean. It's in a very convenient location. But the internet is worthless. 141 kbps right now. Definitely not "high speed". Hotel is fine, but don't count on using the internet to plan your days, or really do anything at all.

The charming young lady in the reception noticed that we had stayed at the hotel before and went out of her way to give us a room on the top floor with the biggest balcony and a view over the sea and the park opposite the hotel. The rooms are rather small, but they are clean, have a nice view (if you choose sea view) and a great value compared to other hotels in the area. And for some reason they are usually not sold out even if you book last minute. We have not tried the breakfast room in the hotel because our all time favorite bakery is just around the corner in Vieille Nice, and the market has great sausages, cheese, foie gras, etc. Sitting on the balcony with baguettes, foie gras and good wine is a treat - but beware of hungry seagulls. They will take the food right out of your hand if they can get away with it.

Nice hotel, close to the old town. Our room was small but very functional, modern design, clean renovated bathroom. People at the reception were nice and helpful. Perfect solution for short stay in Nice.

Cant say anything bad about this place. Is top end 3 star. Very comfortable. Very clean, bathrooms like new. Standard continental breakfast. Amazing sea view. Get all the little extras you expect. Wpuld definately come again.

Albert 1 Hotel has a very convenient location in Nice, just at the entrance of the old town, very close but distant enough from the noise of the crowd. The entrance of the hotel is not fancy at all but reaching out restaurants and busses & tram is so close. We chose a room with a terrace with sea view which really contributed a lot to our trip. The terrace has a small table and chairs to enjoy nice view of the bay and sunset while resting after long walks. The terrace is an extension of the rather small size room. I presume rooms wthout balcony might be too small to feel comfortable. We never had breakfast in the hotel as you have many nice cafes around with a variety of pastries and great coffee with much lower prices. Staff at reception is very friendly and helpful. We stayed beg March so had very reasonable rate for the nice room.

I was very sceptical about this hotel on arrival. First, the entrance, or lack of it. Odd set-up, it felt like arriving in a budget motel. I was given a room right on top of the restaurant (109) which concerned me, I had wanted a quiet room. However, I did like the view to the park and the window blocked the sound on traffic pretty well. The bed did not look inviting with the dreaded blanket instead of duvet cover. Carpeted floor did not thrill me either, but the bathroom was a pleasant surprise, obviously recently renovated and very bright and clean. I went to the nearby pharmacy to purchase earplugs, just to be on the safe side, and on my second night I actually slept around the clock !!! So the bed was comfortable after all, even with the blanket. And because of off-season (?) there was not much noise coming from the restaurant downstairs. Housekeeping was excellent. Best of all was the location, right in the middle of everything ! Right next to the beach and Promenade des Anglais, Place Massena, Avenue Jean Medecin and Old Town, you can't ask for more. I would stay again, and would recommend to others.

The location of this hotel is perfect. You can fly into the Nice Airport and take a bus right to the front door of this hotel. It's located just steps from the sea and across the street from the Albert Gardens and the beautiful new Promenade du Paillon. It's a very short distance to Old Town and not much further to the Port. This is definitely where you want to be location wise. Our room was nice with French doors and a Juliet balcony that overlooked the Gardens across the street. I only have two complaints. The first is the internet with a password that changed daily and required trips to the front desk to reset. The second is the tacky, cramped and awkward entrance and front desk arrangement made more difficult with stairs. Worst hotel entrance I've ever seen. But... there's that perfect location!
