We stayed here for a week. Our room was a decent size with a separate seating area, though other rooms we glimpsed looked smaller. Shower was poor and bath rather small, shower curtain not for us. As other reviewers have stated, it is a three star, not four star, largely because it is somewhat shabby in areas and in need of a bit of updating. The staff are a definite asset, friendly and helpful at all times. The breakfast was ok and probably value for money in an expensive city, beware the pigeons if you choose to have breakfast in the courtyard area. The location was great: 5 minute walk from main shopping street; 10 minutes from seafront; 15 minutes from main train station. Although we didn't experience any problems, there was an unpleasant smell at times on the corridors, which has been mentioned by others in reviews. The hotel is on a busy junction, so don't expect a quiet experience, especially if you have a room at the front as we did, particularly if it is hot and you open the windows because you want fresh air instead of AC air. In all value for money and was perfect for a lovely stay in Nice.
The location of this hotel is ideal for visits to much of Nice; the tram is at the end of the road and it serves the station and the Place Massena leading to the beach, the Promenade des Anglais, and other suburbs too. The old city is not far away with its famous ice cream shop Finnochio, (olive, basil, rose, lavender and gianduja flavours among many others), and there are restaurants nearby. The hotel is nicely furnished and full of charm. Breakfast was really good and the service was friendly and helpful. It was a single room with a double bed, though with little storage, one wardrobe with a shelf above with the safe taking up space. Nice toiletries from Fragonard, but my pet hate was a shower curtain so soft that it kept touching the guest. I would return to this hotel happily. .
We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights, the location is about a 15 minute walk out of town. The hotel itself is beautiful from the outside and inside the finishing are just as good. Would definitely recommend the breakfast here, there is a large variety and all very tasty!!
We have just come back from 6 nights in Nice and here Is my review. The room- a small room with limited space ( 209- some may be bigger) which was clean with a fair sized bathroom ( bath with a great powerful shower ) . The room comes with flat screen TV which has channels in many languages but we only had BBC world to watch in English language . The room also had the usual air con , kettle and coffee etc and a hair dryer in bathroom . The hotel - very pretty hotel with lovely court yard and living space, has a bar with happy hour drinks betweek 5-8 pm , if you drink at those times it's value for money as Nice is expensive . Always very clean and tidy in all areas . The staff are an asset to the hotel as very friendly , polite and speak many languages . No issues with language barrier - my French is poor but I tried ! Breakfast - there was no breakfast included in our booking . However , you can get breakfast for 10 Euros a day if you book on first day , its usually 18 E which is very expensive for what you get . in hindsight this is quite good value ( 10 Euros ) if you eat a goodness breakfast and have 2 or more coffees because a coffee is about 3 Euros in a cafe in nice . The breakfast choice is okay with a mix of hot food , pastries , cereals and fresh fruits etc . Coffee is good quality from a machine . My other tips are that in Nice the prices fin things such as bottled water are very expensive , we once paid 10E for a 1 L of bottle of water on the sea front. I advise that you go to a supermarket to stock up on those things for the day , there is a supermarket 2 mins from hotel . Also , the buses are great at 1.50 E for long journeys to say Monico , St Paul du Vence etc so if you don't want to pay lots for tours , donthis yourself . There is a great Nice blog which advises you . I would definitely advise a trip to the wonderful st Paul de Vince for a half day out . Lastly , if you need washing done don't use the hotel unless you are fine with parting 5 E for one pair of undies to clean !!!! There's is a laundry just around from the hotel . Location is good , a short walk to the Old Town and shopping area . It's not beach front and about a 15 min walk .
Very near to the city centre, to the old town, to the beach. Quiet location. Good breakfast, nice decor, confortable rooms. Car parking available as an extra. Everything we needed to stay for a night or two and visit the city.
ideal location of hotel; short walk to beach and to old town. Wonderful hotel, staff very friendly and efficient. Hotel room was clean; beds comfy and bathroom clean and had all you needed. Air conditioning and double glazing excellent. Hidden courtyard beautiful - ideal place to enjoy a couple of cocktails!
I normally don't like to review, but I feel like I have to let others know about the horrible situation on this hotel. We had an amazing time in Italy and Austria and our last destination was Nice to relax and come back home fresh. No! that was not the case in this hotel. We stayed at room 508, and it stinks I don't know what it was but smelled disgusting that we couldn't sleep. My husband complained about it but they did nothing. on top of that there was construction going on close-by and there was noise all night. The place is so old that the floor in breakfast area creaks, everything is old and dark. I have never had experienced something like this that I was counting the nights to go back home.
Very pleasant stay. My daughter (15) and I stayed 5 nights and were quite happy. Nice location, nice breakfast and friendly staff. (Rooms not as nice as the rest of the hotel). We had picked the hotel partly because of the nice patio. But there were so many pigeons and they terrorized the place. You need to fix that. But generally a very nice experience.
This hotel is quite small but the location is perfect, close to the shops and easy walking distance to the beach. The first room that we were given had a lovely view out over the mountains but unfortunately the room had bugs! Lots of bugs, all over the curtains and on the walls above the bed. I rang the reception who sent a man up to spray but we insisted on having another room. The staff quickly complied and apologised. The second room was on a much lower floor and overlooked the street, but the room was much larger that the first room. There was nothing special about the room, it was just a room. The bathroom was seperate, which was a little strange, small but clean. The wifi was terrible. The hotel lobby, bar and terrace are beautifully decorated. The breakfast was quite good, buffet style. It was hard to find staff during the day to get a drink in the bar which was disappointing.
This hotel is in a great location and the staff are polite and friendly. I had a deluxe double room and believe it was good value for money and the room was very spacious (room 514 which is a corner room). I think that the hotel is much nicer in reality in comparison to the photos. The breakfast is reasonable/good at ten euros and is useful when you have an early start that day.Overall I would recommend this hotel and I would stay there again.
