What an awful hotel. We booked based on the website which looks good. Unfortunately the pictures are of the renovated rooms only and do not represent the majority of accommodation. The rooms we were shown were old, smelly, unclean and a total dissapointment. We asked what was going on and we're advised that only one floor had been renovated. We were then offered the renovated rooms at a much higher price. Don't waste your time unless you like being deceived. Thankfully there is a Hyatt Regency close by!!
We dined here one evening on the large roomy terrace. It ideally situated for dining as you have good views but are just far enough away from the hustle and bustle on the promenade. The service and food were very good, for mains we had fillet of beef and salmon, followed by 2 delicious desserts.
Stuck in Nice after a great holiday in Italy across the border from Nice, we missed our flight home due to unforeseen circumstances. After booking flights back for the next day we booked a hotel on line. We were looking for something cheap and found Hotel Le Royal. Lovely Hotel and great customer service. Just around the corner from the Hotel there were plenty of restaurants to choose from with great cuisine. Fantastic!!
2017.5/26-30 4泊しました。(モナコグランプリ、カンヌ映画祭の時期) 1年前にエグゼクティブルーム(35㎡・ バスタブ・etc)返金不可、前払€1165で予約しました。 実際に通された部屋は、デラックスルーム(25㎡・シャワー.etc)でした。 マネージャーに抗議しましたが、当日の料金€427を見せられ「貴方の予約はエグゼクティブではない」と言われました。「日本人はそんな事いちいち言いに来ない」とも言われました。 予約サイトに連絡し、現在もホテル側と交渉してくれていますが、ホテル側はエグゼクティブルームを提供したと言い張り、電話をしても途中で切ってしまうそうです。サイト側がレシートの提出を要求しても部屋のグレードは記載されて無く、私の撮った写真を証拠として交渉中です。 ホテル業として最悪の態度です。今後フランス観光局、ニース観光局にも届ける予定です。「フランス語は話せるか？」「日本人は文句を言わない‼︎」と豪語し、契約を勝手に変更するホテルです。 I booked an executive room one year ago.(35㎡ bathtub.bathrobe.etc...). Prepay.not refundable.(€1165) 2017.5/26-30 My room was deluxe room (25㎡ shower.not bathtub). I claimed to the manager but she did not grade up the room. She said [「the Japanese complains」「Can you speak French?」. She was stubborn attitude. Current. Booking.com is in negotiations with the hotel. The hotel said to the booking.com that she stayed in the Executive room. It is a hotel that makes a breach of contract.
Excellent location. In need of upgrade . Room smelt of stale cigarettes and damp! No tea making facilities! Staff very good and accommodating . Ok if not spending any time in room! Resturant at breakfast bit chaotic!
This hotel is lovely and top location. Reception is very friendly. We had a room without a view and it was fine and spacious - with full length mirror (horray!). Didn't have breakfast there so can't comment, but it looked like there was wide variety. It's about a 15 minute walk to the train station. Worst part about this hotel is the pillows, I don't know what on earth they were thinking choosing those pillows but hopefully they change them soon. The pillows are more square then rectangle and stuffed with a handful of feathers. Would definitely stay here again due to the location and cleanliness of hotel, hopefully they change the pillows before we return.
We booked a double room with sea view for 4 nights. Fortunately, our room was renovated and we had a fantastic view from the 5th floor. The room and the bathroom were big but the bathroom was so "poor" regarding the shower, the towels and the offered staff for personal cleaning. The biggest problem of the bathroom was the terrible smell and also the corridor smells bad. The staff was polite (is their job) and the breakfast was basic, served in a big dinning room with high ceiling which defiantly needs to be renovated and also the lobby needs renovation too. But I have to admit that the location of the hotel is excellent, near to great restaurants and cafes and near to the old city. The view of the sea from the rooms looking in front is spectacular and for that reason they should reconsider some renovation in order to offer the best package to their clients.
Im here... had a room that does not face the beach and they have not been renovated in 40 years!!!!! the worst bed and horrible pillows. The corridor smells bad. Wont come back even if the location is great
Outstanding view on the 4th floor,the room was brand new with a large Italian bathroom (shower only).I don't know if all the rooms are renovated (better to ask before booking) cos the hotel is a little bit old fashioned but with charm.
we booked this hotel mainly for the location, fantastic room overlooking the med. My wife is confined to a wheelchair and the room was perfect with wet room and plenty of space. The front of the hotel and reception is very classy grand style and very impressive however once you go into the restaurant it goes from The Grand to Fawlty Towers appalling food and very little choice it's a shame as this let the whole place down we ended up eating out most nights although we were on half board. Would recommend booking room only plenty of good places to eat near by. Nice overall is a wonderful city and mostly wheelchair friendly except for the train station no ramps or lifts!!!
