Booked this hotel for a weeks stay in October. Chose it for its location and price and previous feedback. It was excellent value for money and was very conveniently placed for the the railway station as we used the local trains to explore the area. It was also well placed to get to Rue Jean Medicin for large shops and Tram 1 and a nice walk to the front. The Old Town was eminently walkable but if you wanted the Harbour area for the 100 bus etc I would suggest choosing a hotel closer to this area. The staff on the frontdesk were always very friendly, polite and helpful. The hotel was also very clean and the rooms were also maintained at a high standard. We had room 512 which had a nice terrace and it was really nice to be able to sit out in relative privacy and look at the distant hills etc. The breakfast area was really well maintained and had a good choice of foods although a few hot selections would have been welcome. The system for boiling your own eggs was silly as the eggs you placed in the boiler were inevitably 'stolen' by other guests by the time they were ready. However, hard boiled . peeled, cold eggs were always available. The free tea/coffee and small pastries at the front desk were a great feature. Our bathroom was definitely large enough for us but the room could have done with a bit more hanging space/shelves/drawers for clothes but it was easy to work around it. If in the area again we would not hesitate to stay here again.
This chain hotel deserves its modern and funky selling tag. Reasonably priced, it is tucked away in the streets behind the Promenade des Anglais (about a 5min walk) and close to the Nice Gare (about 5min walk). It is also within a very short walk of the Avenue Jean Medecin, which is the main shopping street and tram stop for No1 tram. The No2 tram is around a 5 min walk, on Boulevard Victor Hugo. This is the line that will get you from and to the airport in about 20mins for Euro1.50. (for the trams the set fee is Euro1.50 for any trip (adults and children) BUT have that change ready for the machines, located at every station or stop). they don’t accept notes but do accept credit cards) The reception is modern and welcoming as were all the staff, eager to help and assist. There were free pastries, water and tea & coffee as well as a well-stocked fridge with drinks to buy. The rooms were simple and quirky with comfy beds and facilities for this type of hotel. Breakfast was excellent if not a little manic, with a good choice of fresh juice, hot drinks and continental breakfast items. If you needed to be positioned in a hotel that would allow you access to travel up and down the Cote D’Azur by train (to Monaco, Antibes, Cannes etc) this would be ideal (the train station is modern and easy to navigate although beware of pick pockets, as we had our wallet stolen, and also make sure you clarify which trains you can use on any ticket as we were fined for being on the wrong one) If you wanted to explore Nice, including the old town, Castle, Port etc, be prepared and wear your walking shoes. Beautiful as these areas are they need a little time to get to either along the wonderful broad promenade or via the shopping street and Place Massena. For great places to eat, check out the nearby Rue de France merging into Rue Massena or the old town around Place Rosetti, which also has one of the best ice cream shops this side of Italy (Fenocchio). Other places that are a highlight are the water fountains in Promenade du Paillon and the Castle with great views all round and easy accessible via the free lift, Ascenseur du Chateau (from the sea front near the Love Nice sign). We also went to Parc Phoenix (near the airport), free for kids and a lovely area to experience tropical plants, animals and outside gardens. Nice, a beautiful city, has lots to offer, friendly people and well worth a short trip for families or those without children.
When it comes to location, amenities and a welcoming staff the Ibis Nice Centre Gare ticks all of the boxes and is our go-to hotel when we arrive in Nice by train. Add great wifi and a tasty breakfast and it’s unbeatable.
We stayed here for three nights. Our room was a reasonable size with a balcony overlooking the central courtyard although there was no outside seating. Rooms are well equipped with TV, safe and on our first day, a bottle of water and small packet of sweets although these are not replenished. Bathroom has a large walk in shower, shower gel/soap dispensed from squeeze containers. No kettle in the room although hot drinks available in reception throughout the day. Breakfast in the morning was excellent with choice of fresh fruit, yoghurt, boiled eggs, cereals, bread, cheese, ham, fresh vegetables and cake although no hot dishes are available apart from a boiled egg cooker where you can prepare your own. Serving areas can get a little congested at peak times. The location is convenient for all major Nice sites. It is a good value option for the centre of Nice providing you book well in advance, our 3 night booking averaged €75 for each night with breakfast. Room tariff if turning up on the day was double this price and somewhat over-priced.
I stayed for 4 nights at this hotel and it is excellent. My room was clean and spacious. The staff were all friendly, helpful and kind.Breakfasts were fresh and plentyful. The hotel is in a great central position for train station, shops, tram station, restaurants and the promenade.
This was our first time in an Ibis Styles. We definitely want to stay again. The staff in the hotel were all very friendly. The hotel has a refreshing young vibrant feel. The decor was fun and comfortable. It was a nice surprise to see all the choices for the morning breakfast. It was nice having breakfast included. There were no in room coffee but it was s short walk to the breakfast area to get a fresh brewed late to bring up to the room. The rooms were so spacious and do have an in room safe. The choices of furniture and styling of the rooms was perfect. Everything in the room had a propose and made it feel open. The hotel close to the train station a 10 minute walk. It was our first visit to Nice so we did like how close the hotel was to the sights and old Nice. We walked every day to most sights as the hotel was close to most.
Conveniently located to the main rail station, this 7-floor spiffy hotel cheerily decorated is as good as any Nice hotel on the Promenade des Anglais. My high ceiling room with french door windows was bright and light, and very quiet. The breakfasts, buffet-served from 6:30am to 10am (later on Sundays) were close to magnificent. Breakfasts could be had on the terrace, or inside. The bath room was ambly sized. The hotel helps guests select restaurants, many of which are near by. On a side note, this writer lost his wallet. How awful was that! The hotel's on site Executive came to my room and -- Thank Goodness! - found my wallet which had fallen into a corner of the bathroom. What a relief! My 4-night stay was made "Perfecto!".
We spent 3 nights here and it suited us well. The location was pretty central to where we wanted to be and it was easy to navigate. Breakfast was great with a wide variety and we loved the fresh squeezed orange juice! Would definitely stay here again.
Loved this hotel. Great city centre location. 5 mins walk from main train station and various restaurants / shopping. 10 minute walk from the promenade. Everything was lovely and clean and our room was excellent... Made even better by a superb balcony that was worth every extra euro. Public spaces are bright and cheerful. Continental breakfast was good, fresh bread and pastries were especially tasty even though it is the same slightly limited choice every day though. There is no restaurant at the hotel for evening meals but really not an issue as there is lots of choice nearby. Whilst we didn't use it there is an underground car park about 100 metres from the hotel. Every member of staff we met were helpful and friendly smiley. Happy guests... thank you 👍
We stayed here for three nights and were very pleasantly surprised. The hotel is clean and modern. The room was very quiet, beds were comfortable and the shower good as well. A breakfast buffet with plenty of choice (fresh fruit, vegetables, croissants, bread, cereal etc.). The hotel is located about 500 m from the train station and the Jean Médecin tram station which has a direct line to the Airport. About 500 m from the beach as well. If you´re looking for a good basic accommodation which is clean and modern I´d highly recommend this hotel!
