My wife & and I decided to finish our south France river cruise with a few days in Nice. Although the river cruise had a post cruise stay in Nice at another hotel, we chose to stay at the Hyatt. Given that it's is part of an American hotel chain, one would think it would be a sterile modern property, but it is an older building gracefully redone to have a very comfortable room, but with the feel of Nice. It is across the street from the Promenade de Angleis & overlooks the Med from a central location. We were early so they put us in a small room with a very limited view, but after my wife talked to them, we got an outstanding room on the top floor with a patio. My wife was thrilled. We ate at the pool level restaurant again overlooking the beach & the Med & the it was very relaxing. The food was good & the service was a little slow, but we were in no hurry. All of the staff from the front desk to the servers & room service were professional yet friendly & all spoke better English than we did French. We would go back in a heart beat.
We spent 3 wonderful days at the Hyatt with our teenage sons and have amazing memories- the hotel is nicely maintained, very clean, and conveniently located. The staff was extremely friendly, and helpful. Front desk staff very accommodating, housekeeping was wonderful, concierge enthusiastic and helpful, valet very prompt. We also enjoyed the gym and the pool area.
We stayed at the palais de la mediterranee prior to the rebranding, now it's the Hyatt regency...., It was a charming french true 5 star hotel, years past by, Nice became more, well... (Poor ? Neglected?) I became a snob ? Well... I don't know but now I can stay only in Cannes and come for a day visit to Nice and same happen to the palais de la mediterranee. The façade is grey and black and needs an immediate attention, lobby, oh, what happened to the Grand lobby ? It was reconfigured and not in a good way. Rooms are ... 3.5 star rooms painted in a strange trying to be cool and modern way with no respect to this hotel grand tradition. It was sad. One point of light was the staff, they are 5 star !
Great location, right next to the beach but also walking distance to the old town. The room was excellent, as was breakfast. Great pool and fitness facilities. Food and drinks by the pool were good, although as with everywhere in Nice we found that a 'snack' was big enough to serve as a main meal. Very friendly and helpful staff. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.
The Hyatt Regency in Nice is a lovely hotel with great service and accommodation. Centrally located on the Promenade des Anglais, it is the perfect place to base yourself and the family. Just around the corner from cafes and small shops, the Hyatt has great access the the "beach" Take some footwear due to the rocks as there is no sand! Usual amenities and a great open area for the bar/restaurant and breakfast buffet in the morning. A little pricey however in line with the quality and service. Restaurant Manager is great and he can give you all the details for cocktails and best menu options for the day, or alternative eateries if you wish. Most valuable. Concierge was great and offered good advice and directions We enjoyed the stay immensely.
this hotel is in a very nice location. it's right on the boardwalk with a beautiful view. the rooms are a good size, but pretty dated. they need to be updated. my room needed to have the carpet cleaned, it seemed dirty and little repairs throughout the room. it was also pretty noisy from other rooms. the room service was good. they have a private beach across the street. it's nice to go to, but pretty expensive. the swimming pool is sort of small...the staff was very helpful and friendly...
This hotel is good Hyatt fare. The rooms are lovely and the stafff very helpful. I do have a couple of gripes though. Firstly the price of drinks in the bar are eye watering! A gin and tonic set me back 17 euros, and the service was abysmally slow. Secondly I made the mistake of using the hotel's foreign exchange. Hyatt ought to be ashamed of the commission they are charging hotel guests who are already spending a lot with them. I was charged around 70 euros on an exchange of 400 pounds!
This beautiful hotel is located right in front of the ocean with everything at walking distance - restaurant, shop, store, and even casino! Check-in process was quick and pleasant and got my room upgraded as Hyatt member. In addition to that , it was a pleasant surprise we got welcome gift from the general manager to wish us a great stay at the hotel. The quality of service, room, location, and the food are top of the world!! We are so happy that we chose this hotel for stay in Nice and definitely we will stay at this hotel again if we come back to visit Nice.
This hotel's staff all maintained Hyatt's highest level of service. Everyone treats you as royalty, and they know their jobs well. I cannot praise the staff enough, nor could anyone expect more of them. The hotel itself is beautiful and located precisely where you'd want it. We did notice a few "wear & tear" issues, which is why we did not give the property a perfect score. Overall it was a very nice experience, and we highly recommend this hotel if cost is not an issue.
The hotel looked much nicer/newer, and the pool looked much bigger on their website than actual reality. The place needs a paint job at the very least as it looked and felt quite dated and not so modern. Ok I can get passed that.... What frustrated me the most, and the reason why I wouldn't return, for the money you shell out to stay there per night, you would expect a nice sea view from your room. Well not so if you have a kid/young family and need a king + extra bed as you're forced into a king mountain view room. Unless you want to be extorted for more money to stay in a large suite then your hopes and dreams of a great family stay in Nice with a sea view are quite dashed and smashed. And i let the Hyatt know well in advance of my request along with my hopes and dreams. To no avail at front desk and was instantly crushed. Felt quite ripped off right from the start and wish I booked elsewhere. (Next time, if I ever make it there again). Food was quite good but VERY expensive. When you grab an iced coffee for your wife and an apple juice for your kid and get hit with a 17€ bill, you start looking elsewhere for your next refreshments. The good: place was very clean, staff quite friendly, and concierge very helpful. It was nice....but really not great :(
