Great Carraige house, wonderful feel to the place

The Inn is quit old and does need some updating. The room we stayed in was a good size room and comfortable but almost impossible to get into the closet as the door would only open about 40 percent of the way and had no light inside. The front desk staff were very helpful and friendly and got everything you required. In the morning they had a grab and go breakfast which was adequate but one of the young people working in the breakfast are was very unfriendly, would not even respond when you said good morning and did not want to answer any questions. Parking at the inn is very limited and tight so you have to leave your keys at the front desk. The first night we stayed about a quarter of the vehicles were pick up trucks and took up half the lot. My car was moved at least four times. The Inn is centrally located and a lost of attractions and restaurants are within easy walking distance. Overall, I would give the inn six stars out of ten. I would stay there again but would definitely look at other options first. One last comment, the Inn is reasonably priced compared with some other inn’s in Newport so that maybe a positive factor if you are on a tight budget.

A sweet well licated place

The Yankee Peddler Inn is a charming, well maintained facility in a great location. The rooms are quaint and clean. The service and people are wonderful. The fresh baked cookies, croissants and muffins are delicious. It's a short walk from the Inn to the harbor, restaurants and shopping. If you're in great shape, it's only 1 1/2 miles to the Cliff walk. Parking on site is great but tight if all the rooms are booked. I do not suggest a really large vehicle. Not all rooms have a refrigerator. If we were staying more than one night, that would have been a preference. We stayed in the Carriage House and it is adorable.

The best point about the property is it is on the trolley route. It is very easy to get around the town without driving.

The location was convenient for walking around Newtown without being so close to deal with street noise. It's cute and quaint with lovely decor. The house and rooms were a little dated but that added to the charm and is one of the appealing parts of staying in a Newport inn or B&B. However, the bathroom looked recently updated. And everything was clean. Tip: Offstreet parking accessible from the street behind the property. I only had one issue: It took some effort to lock the room door since the lock was finicky but I was able to get it to work. If I hadn't noticed it it would have stayed unlocked when we were sleeping or out and about. I let them know at checkout (was only there for an overnight) and they said they'd have someone look at it. Something to generally check for when staying in B&Bs or inns.

Good location, fair price for the season, friendly staff

Central location for walking. Staff was friendly and helpful. Bathroom shower was very small for a tall husband. House is decorated nicely. Breakfast was sparse, more hot options would have been appreciated. Parking is very tight (16 cars with only 12 spots)- however being able to leave the car and walk or Uber was very convenient. Larger guest towels would be a good idea. Air conditioner was nice and cold during the heatwave.

We visit Newport at least once a year since 2003. That first visit we stayed at The Yankee Peddler Inn, which made a lasting impression. We have stayed there many times since then, so when we decided to return to Newport we booked our stay. The staff is always very pleasant and friendly and provided us with top notch service. The room was beautiful, clean, and homey! We will be back, thanks again to everyone at The Yankee Peddler Inn.
