Wasn’t what I expected.

The one oven still does not work properly. I was told that it did. The guest house had an awful smell. They put one roll of toilet tissue in each bathroom. We ran out after day 2. They were still cleaning the house when we got there at 4:15 so we couldn’t go in. Very disappointed

8Sage is absolutely beautiful!!! Plenty of room & comfortable! Thank you for recommending renting golf carts! It was fun going to Gruene in golf carts not to mention easier to find parking! We will definitely rent this location again, maybe even stay longer. Only one suggestion to owner, fix kitchen sink water pressure. Other than that…loved everything about the property! Thank you!

Beautiful property!

My husband and I recently relocated to Texas so we blindly pick a spot to host a family get together, our guests thought the property was beautiful and it screams Texas. We had plenty of room to accommodate our family and had a great time.

Nice property, but some issues need to be addressed by owners.

It was nice to have our family together @ 8Sages to celebrate our daughter's wedding that was held in Gruene. I would consider this property a hidden gem. We rented the entire property (including guest cottages) and we enjoyed gathering in the main house, the fun TX decor, lights on outdoor trees & fire pit. A great property with nice touches, however, there are suggestions (listed below) that would help make the next VRBO guest experience even better. Posted check-in time was 4pm, however when we checked-in, the cleaners didn’t leave until 7pm. Not ideal. We spent a lot to rent the entire property and when I booked, I honestly do not remember reading that it would be an additional $375 per day to heat the swimming pool. Seems excessive, so we did not pay the fee. Kitchen: the main kitchen sink had extremely low water pressure + 1 oven was broken. I read about the broken oven & sink in a VRBO review published well before our visit, however they were not fixed when we arrived, and host did not give a heads up until I asked about review. Washing in a small sink on the island was difficult and not efficient. Misc: house windows need to be cleaned, no towel racks in Jack & Jill bathroom, few hangers so we purchased some, dryers potentially need to be serviced as they are not efficient. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. Moving forward, I would recommend an owner from 8Sages stay a few nights at their property to enhance guest's experience.

“Don’t judge a book by its cover”

When you pay such a high price tag you expect the basics- cleanliness, batteries, working ovens/ fire pits, kitchen basics and kindness but not at 8 Sages. Booked a 2 night stay here to have my wedding- yes it’s a beautiful property but that’s about all it has going for it. Planned our breakfast & half of our reception dinner to be made at the rental but that soon changed when only 1 of 3 ovens worked. The stove its self hardly had any gas coming to it- so that ruined our food plans as well. The main sink in the kitchen had very low water pressure- like dripping water so we had to use the small sink to wash everything. There was only one kitchen hand towel. No filtered drinking water. Also the coffee pot didn't work properly. I was excited about the fire pit outside. I scheduled to have my photographer stay to take pictures of us around it of us making s’mores but that didn’t work either. My groom & his best men worked hard trying to get it to turn on but all they could get was a small flame. Very disappointing. The bunk house advertises having a XBOX.. but there weren’t any batteries. We had to make a special trip just for batteries. I’ve never had to go buy batteries to use advertised utilities when I’m spending almost $5K on a place. If I wasn’t limited to 1500 characters I’d have a lot more complaints so I will leave it here. NOT WORTH THE MONEY. What a shame.

This place was magical

We opted out of having a big wedding and chose to have a small get together with family and close friends. This was the perfect house to host everyone and have our party. The property is beautiful. I only had a few issues which the property manager was responsive in helping with. 10/10 recommendation for a big group.

Celebrated our 30th Anniversary

The property we chose for our 30th Anniversary could not have been more ideal. We arrived greeted by large, spreading live oak trees wrapped in lights with a lovely, white country home with a generous porch and chairs. The interior of the well appointed home comfortably hosted all 11 of the guests in our party. Many more guests could have been hosted easily. In addition to the home, two other buildings gave the guests enough separation to enable a more comfortable stay. There is a bunk house with two bedrooms and a very large game room, bathroom, and utility room. What is more, another building was like a newlywed suite with lovely furniture and a gorgeous bathroom. Well situated between the buildings is a pool that was huge and complete with a spa. A friendly deer family lives on the property and they were very comfortable interacting with us. We really stretched our budget for this stay but it was worth it. Thank you!
