Very good hotel with high quality rooms. Beds were hard and pillows flat. Room was enormus, tv was way to small. Location is handy and is at the begining of a waterfront strip of high end hotels. Staff were very good and were helpful.

Had a medium long stay and was very happy with accomodation. Classic style, superb breakfast with friendly staff anything is possible. Reception staff very friendly, thinking in solutions. Due to nightshift i needed to sleep at daytime which means no daylight and noise, this was perfectly met with the inner ring rooms without streetview. Also roomcleaning was addepted to my sleeping time. Some good restaurants near by and sea view at the front. Absolutely coming back! One of the better hotels I've stayed.

We can clearly see that the Grand Hotel Excelsior had better days... it is decaying, it needs renovation, it needs a more vibrant staff. You can notice those aspects in the rusting window frames, scratched lifts, stained bathroom marble and in the ice cold receptionist welcome and good-bye. Porter service was inefficient, the man looked bored, helped me to unload by luggage on my arrival but disappeared during my check out. Btw, first time that I stayed in a 4 stars hotel that charged for my car parking, 20 euros per night! Absolutely ridiculous. When you pay €220 euros per night, you should have at least, your car parking included, come on. Breakfast was very good thou, good options but should be better for such prestigious hotel, as I said, it had better days for sure. I would stay again if I get a pretty good deal, otherwise I'm gonna try the rival next door.

Long weekend in Naples. Room was lovely, had a balcony overlooking Vesuvio. Breakfast ticked all the boxes, didn't get a chance to try out the restaurant but went for after dinner drinks one evening and the service was great. Would return.

Me and my sister stayed for a week in this hotel. It is located in the bay of Naples, in one of the most beautiful sites in the city. The views to Mt Vesuvius are spectacular from the hotel's restaurant. The personnel are very professional and attentive. We had dinner in their roof top garden restaurant, which was quality-price worth it. I'm planning to come back in the near future and will definitely stay again in this hotel.

I had a great room on the second floor - with a view toward Capri. The room was spacious, well furnished and clean. Room Service was extremely swift and courteous. I love the traditional setting and the bathrooms furnished with marble are just splendid. The overall ambient and atmosphere of the hotel is sophisticated and cultured. Do go up to the roof terraces (7th/8th floor) for a relaxed drink while enjoying one of the best views in all of Naples. One slight fault might be noted: the rooms are not quite soundproof (I had three different neighbours in three days and got to know them by sound) Still: the résumé is very good and I would be more than happy to visit again. Wifi worked without any problems.

Whenever we go to Naples we stay at The Excelsior. It never disappoints. We always book a room with a view. The rooms are great, the location outstanding and the girls behind the desk great. The best is the roof top with outstanding views of the Bay of Naples.

A classic old world hotel in a great location with views out to the Bay of Naples. Stayed in a junior suite for four nights. Decor is extremely old world, but new and in excellent condition. Bathrooms are very large and well-appointed. BUT, the wi-fi service is horrendous. Their service required me to enter my user ID and passcode up to 30 times in an hour (yes, I counted the times!). And I was regularly unable to establish a secure connection to receive email and visit secure websites. When I complained about the problem, the staff simply said that it was a problem with my computer -- which was total BS. I travel nearly one hundred days a year and have never had this level of problems.

A wonderful view of Capri and Vesuvius greets you from the bedroom window. The bedroom was spacious and not too well laid out. Interesting were the headboards for two single beds affixed to the wall with a double bed placed such that neither headboard was in the right place. Tried to get a drink on the roof terrace only to be ignored by all the staff. Left and went to the bar on the ground floor. The staff were very helpful and made up for all the deficiencies.

Parking costs 25 euros per night - outsourced to a garage. The room and toilet is spacious -we got upgraded . But the shower is quite weak unfortunately and that is one of the important things for me when I travel. It is a 45 min walk to the old town though and it was one of the things we struggled with as driving was not possible, and the concierge also did not recommend any buses so we really struggled with the amount of walking in the 2 days we were there. I don't know why we didn't think of taking taxis for some strange reason, probably because we felt we might get fleeced. It is opposite the Castillo illovo which is beautiful and free to visit ( very rare for any attraction in Italy ) and I would recommend going there if u r staying in this hotel.
