Love This Resort

We absolutely loved our stay! Great place for children of all ages. They have daily activities for the kids to do on top of the water slides and pools. The restaurant was delicious and the tiki bar is not stingy with the alcohol they put in the drinks. The owner of our room was very prompt with any questions and it had everything we needed. We ordered groceries for the week and didn't need to leave. We will definitely be back!

Location, amenities, staff, were all great here! House keeping checked in every day to see if we needed anything. The room itself was functional with a nice view but very dated. Main beds were comfortable. Furnature could have been cleaner/newer but served it’s purpose for our family. Overall a good family stay for the price if you don’t mind throwing a sheet over the couch and chair for the week.

Palmetto Bugs

We did not stay in Mr. William's unit. We got upgraded to a front beach unit. At first, we were overjoyed with the pleasantly surprising change until we discovered the palmetto bugs aka cockroaches. As soon as the sun went down, they came out from everywhere. Our balcony was covered with them and then they were in the kitchen, the living room, and the bathroom. It was disgusting. we talked to the front desk, but they informed us that they are just Palmetto bugs. On our last day, we went over our things before we packed to make sure we were not taking them with us. When we were on the road, we almost wreck as we discovered there were a couple of palmetto bugs inside our van. WE WILL NEVER STAY AT DUNES RESORT EVER AGAIN.

The property was just as it was advertised, and all the amentities were great.

The property was as advertised, just needs to be updated. There were not many cooking utensils (muffin pan, cinnamon roll pan) not many extra eating utensils. We asked for some extra pillows and they were delivered to our room after a 45 minute wait. The towels, linens and overall condo was clean. The kids enjoyed the pools, slides, shuffle board, etc. The beach was great also. The check-in process was very disappointing. We flew to Myrtle Beach, so arrived earlier than the 4:00 check-in time and when we inquired as to if the room was ready, we were told it would be shortly (waited over 2 hours to get in our room) At 4:00, there was a long line and still had to wait.
