Stayed here at the beginning of October- end of season. Arrived at the hotel and first impressions were small but nice and relaxing feel. Staff were helpful and got taken to our room by a lady that just couldn't wait to get away. We booked the day before as our holiday got cancelled due to airline going bust and so they didn't seem ready for us, we booked a superior double room and got two single beds pushed together, each with their own doublets. The room itself was nice and white with limited furniture, to had the odd English programme from time to time,Our room door rattled alnight and will the midnight noise going on in reception every night it was hard to get a full good night sleep.the bathroom looked like it had just been done up but the shower took half an hour of constant running to get warm. Breakfast was okay but no toaster and had very limited hot food. Room was always lovely and clean by the daily maid who made our beds and changed our towels for new ones which was nice, however the floor always looked clean but my feet by walking about on it were dark black. The swimming pool area was nice but not as nice as the pictures on line, all of the beds were bean bags except for two and they were all dirty and stained, the pool had a yellow mark on the rim and there wasn't much shade out there if wanted. We were bait gutted as there was no one there ever and has no atmosphere, the bar guy just sat on his phone all day and just look up at you and take your order whilst still slumped there on his phone and the bar lights were turned off, they only just turned some music on 4 days into our holiday and looked like they were cleaning about looking busy again. Location was near beach and some very nice, mostly overpriced cafe/restaurants and has supermarkets/bakeries just down the road. There isn't much more on the island other than the boat trip to Delos (island of ruins and history) and the main old harbour town lovely to have a walk through and see the windmills and little streets (shops are high end fashion and souvenir shops,) Not sure if it was because it was near the end of the season but it felt like the people of the island were fed up and couldn't be asked anymore with tourists and were grumpy and unprofessional. Nearby restaurants however were the best service and food there- rustic grill, kastantis.
Lovely little hotel. Quiet, comfortable and clean, Hotel Dionysos is a short walk to Ornos Beach, where there's plenty of food to be found. Rooms are nice and well maintained, and in little villas of distinctive white stone. Nice pool, and plenty of places to lounge and relax. Staff are friendly too, and quite helpful. Nice place to consider if you're going to Mykonos.
The staff of the hotel is very familiar with the guests, rooms are renovated & clean. 2 minutes walking distance from the beach. rates are very suitable & cheap compairing with another 4* hotels in Mykonos.
Pros: -Walking distance to a great beach (Ornos) and restaurants -Nice staff -Breakfast included (Eggs, Sausage, Greek yogurt, fruit, bread, sparkling water, cucumber/lemon infused water, etc.) Cons: -WiFi seems to work the best in the hotel lobby or near the pool rather than in the rooms -Broken shower head & Broken flush button for the toilet -2 beds pushed together is considered a queen room -Photos online didn't seem to match the room we booked -Hotel shuttle to Mykonos Town is 20 Euros. With Chora/Mykonos Town being about 2-3 miles away, it's probably best to just take the bus from Ornos Beach for 1.80 Euro. FYIs: -Fitness center is currently under renovation. If you are booking this hotel with a hotel gym in mind just ask them when it will be complete. -Family run business
This cute hotel is located approx 2km out of town. Location is ok, not far from Orson beach. At the check in I was told to be upgraded and sent to a room with a "sea view", but there was a moment at the check in when i realized the wife of the owner changed my room number - saying I was gonna be upgraded. The room I got was poor n with "sea view", but the sea is 1km away, no or very weak wifi signal. Went back to the reception where they gave me the room I was supposed to get "before being upgraded" and this room was better - next to the pool n renovated - so there was no upgrade but they just wanted to give me a worse room (why would they do this? My room was booked through an agent in the middle east and they expected to get arab guests and when they saw i was a young european they just sent me to that room with "sea view"). Room cleaning is poor - in one week they replaced toiletries just once!!! Breakfast is decent (eggs and even some fresh fruits, but no fresh juice). The WIFI signal is weak and even just sending a msg thru whatsapp sometimes takes a minute or two And this would not have been an issue if there was 3g or 4g network, but there is absolutely no coverage around the hotel (but there is 4g just a few meters out in the street), so dont expect to be online much :) would NOT stay here again.
Perfect location, friendly and nice staff specially Nikol, good service, cozy and clean, definitely i come back again and recommend to my friends. If i want to choose best beach in Mykonos i also pick Ornos.
If you want to choose a good hotel with a reasonable price, I would offer you this hotel. although the rooms and other places in hotel are not that luxury , it clean and in order. break fast is good, but if you are looking for variety , you cant find it. however the place is great for having a good meal for break fast, its beside the pool. staff are so kind specially the woman with curly hair, you can ask whatever you need. the ornus beach is so close, about 3 mins by foot, the bus station is near the beach and you can go to mykonos town very easily! beds are not free, you have to pay 20 euros for 2 beds(including a water) 2 good super market and many restaurants are quite near to the hotel. totally I vote 8 out of 10 for this lovely hotel
Not Good. Decent Location, however there is nobody there to accept drink orders or any food orders. There was an ant infestation in our room. Unfortunately, we left our Iphone out in the room at 1 pm on a Thursday and it was gone when our place was cleaned. We did bring it up to management who insisted that we had 'left it out partying or at the beach' but both of us remembered leaving our place saying 'hey lets just leave one phone here, we dont need two'. Anyway, notwithstanding the theft we wouldnt stay here again if it were free.
This hotel is a five minute walk from Ornos beach and is a really good option if you don't want to pay an arm and a leg for the beach front hotels. The hotel staff were very friendly and always invited us (I was there with two other friends) to have a chat in the evening and one even offered to show us around the island after he got off his shift. They were very hospitable. The property was also very nice, the pool was perfect and had a very nice backdrop of white buildings on hills - especially nice at night. Most people hang out at the beach, so we had the pool to ourselves when we used it. I would recommend the beach over the pool any day, but I usually took a dip in the pool after a full day at the beach. The beach is packed with sunbeds for rental - they are rented for the day though, so be sure to get there by latest around noon to snag a sunbed. They also take reservations for the sunbeds - just look for the very glamorously dressed sundbed lady who walks the beach making sure all is in order. The staff are in white tshirts and will point you to her - she's quite beautiful (a bit stern, but very easy on the eyes if you are not in trouble with her). When I went at the peak of summer, the sunbeds were 9 euro without a towel and 13 euro with a towel. You can also order drinks from any of the staffers - they don't make you pay right away, you have a running tab - not the most controlled scenario since I'm sure people could skip out on them and they likely wouldn't know until end of day. Be warned, do NOT just sit on a sunbed of your choice, they are all reserved or accounted for, sooner or later, you will be asked to get up and sunbed lady will not be too happy with you. You don't want to be on her bad side, she controls the beach. If you walk to the far end of the beach in the direction of Kuzina (very good restaurant on the beach), there is a spot with no sunbeds where you can just bring a beach blanket and layout (no frills). The water is gorgeous. There's also a donut grandpa selling freshly made donuts on the beach, do yourself a favor and indulge - I had the nutella donut and it was heaven. I'm not sure if the guy he sells with is related, but I made up my own backstory that his hot grandson sells donuts with him... :) Anyway, back to the hotel, I would definitely stay there again, the room was functional, had a balcony and clean. Most rooms require a bit of stair climbing for those of you who carry a lot of luggage. You walk to your room outdoors and they're set up like little apartments on the ground and second floor. Breakfast was decent - a lot of variety, although I mainly stuck with the greek yogurt with honey. The eggs were a bit over done, but it was a breakfast buffet so not entirely a surprise on that front. Again, the staff were wonderful and made the stay all the more memorable.
