The hotel was okay not so far from the airport but the staff were not great or helpful in any way. The check in was okay, but in regards to advice; where to eat or what to see the staff were basically useless, no leaflets or anything on what to see or do. Came on holiday via Oman and stopped three days to see the country and we didn't really know what to do, no advice was given. The hotel was in a strange location and seemed only to be near western fast food outlets and that's about it ! Spent most of our time in the pool which was also a joke as the hotel were doubling it up as a place for local swimming lessons and it was too busy. The instructor even asked us to move out of his way ! Average hotel probably are much better hotels with more affable helpful staff

Myself and wife live and work in Qatar and we booked this hotel for a holiday in October 2017. Unfortunately we have to move back to the UK. We notified the hotel about this 6 months before our holiday (April 2017). Because we received a cheaper rate when booking they aren't refunding any of our money. I can't believe how a business that is run on customer satisfaction can operate like this. The only thing they offered was that we could cancel and have no money back. For what? So they could resell the room!!! If this is what their customer service is like I'm glad weren't not staying there. I could understand no refund 6 days before but 6 months. Even if they said we could have 75% back that would be something. Such a poor, money grabbing, customer last service!!

The Hotel Muscat Holiday was formerly a Holiday Inn and this contributes to a bit of confusion. There is a "new" HI Hotel nearer to the airport and I was somewhat surprised when the driver, arranged by Oman Air,took me to this property.I should also mention that I waited a most unacceptable amount of time for the transfer to be organized. This is the fault of Oman Air,not the hotel. In any event, this building is older, but the management keeps it clear and fresh. The front desk was most gracious and allowed me to see a few different rooms in various locations to find a good fit for me,looking for quiet.I did find the "right" room and had a very good night's sleep which was a pleasant surprise considering that this is an airport transit hotel.I went down to breakfast the following morning and it was excellent:buffet that also included a station preparing eggs as you like them. I later went down to reception at the agreed upon time to return to the airport and there was some confusion regarding the whereabouts of the driver, but then the hotel manager showed up and said that he would personally drive me.We left and had the most delightful conversation on the way to the airport, very open and honest actually. I only stayed for one night, but the staff made it a fine night and the manager sealed my high opinion with his going above and beyond service.Kudos to them all and thank you!

Good hotel about 15 minutes drive from Muscat airport, with swimming pool and good food. Rooms very nice and good free wifi. Used by Omanair for connecting flights. Staff very helpful , good place for between flights.

I very rarely feel moved to write reviews, let alone of hotels, but I have to say, I have never stayed anywhere friendlier! Shout out to Karim and Anne in particular who helped me sort out a Nizwa trip last-minute :) Can't complain about a thing.

We stayed just for 1 night passing through on business, the rooms were very good , comfortable beds, they provided some complimentary water and fruit, which was much appreciated, Breakfast was very good. The staff were very friendly, it also has a very nice traditional style bar.

rooms are simple, but okay. ac blows you out of the room, bo bathrobe, no slippers, no adjustable office chair.cant open the window... breakfast quite poor, but a very good bed! free wifi quite slow but stable. for my next business trip i will choose another hotel nearby

well what more can I say. after my previous feedback sessions about this venue, I can honestly say they cleaned up their act and listened to what I was telling them. I was greated by robes & slippers in the room, complementary fruit basket and chocolates with a bonus of a nice bottle of red wine. The food improved and the breakfast menu had pork sausages back on the service. The staff were smiling and this created a very positive ambience. Well done to all involved at the hotel and the management for listening and implementing the improvements. Keep it up and I will return soon under a different booking name to see if you are maintaining your promises for customer service. T

PRO. Nice heated pool, good breakfast buffet, spacious rooms with good electrical outlets (British plug), spacious bathroom with hair dryer and amenities, spacious closet with sufficient hangers. Fast lift. Friendly staff. Nice outdoor dining by pool. Many good restaurants within walking distance (5-10 min): Indian, Turkish (across the street), Fish, Omani, fast-food & supermarket, coffee shop. CON. Room becomes stuffy because cannot open windows. View is ok but nothing special. Not always hot water in shower. Swimming pool lessons at end of day (17-18h) with noisy kids so cannot use pool at that time.

Topped And tailed our week in Oman with a stay at this hotel. Muscat is sprawling and very spread out. This hotel was in a great location with a number of really great restaurants within walking distance. We also tried the bowling alley opposite which was fun and very cheap!! The hotel was clean (sounds strange but this hotel smells very good) the rooms are well equipped with great air-con, mini fridge/bar, great beds, good shower and bath tub. All you need really. Staff were very attentive and friendly/helpful. They organised taxis for us and we're happy to offer advice on souks etc. The pool and gym were great, the pool area was immaculate and the water was warm and inviting. I also had a really great Thai massage. This hotel offers terrific value, it's 15 minutes by cab to Mutrah and 5 minutes drive to the open top bus tour stop.
