Here during summer month, air con is working fine. Room is very basic but sufficient. Stay for 3 day and did not disappoint. Cost omr 20 per night w breakfast and wifi. Breakfasts is limited but enough to fuel the belly. Opposite is a market, where u could get all your needs. Staff is pretty friendly and helpful.
Had a comfortable stay at the Al Maha International Hotel. The hotel is located in an area with a plethora of restaurants, takeaways, mini markets and other services. A longer walk (about 20 minutes) will take you to two large malls (Oman Avenues Mall and Grand Mall). For those travelling around Muscat or Oman in general, I would highly recommend that you hire a car. It's a lot more convenient and gives you an opportunity to truly explore the various sites just outside of Muscat. Note: the hotel offers free parking and we never had any issues with finding a spot, even after midnight. PROs - Air-conditioning worked like a charm and the bed was comfortable to sleep in. - Shower pressure was good and with plenty of hot water. - Plenty of parking available. - Helpful and attentive staff. - Good location. - Room was spacious enough for two people and their large luggage. - The gym has a variety of equipment and weights; better than most hotels. However, the equipment is a bit dated and not well-maintained. A lot of it is due to the people who use it and not being considerate to other users. - Good value for money. IMPROVEMENT AREAS - The room was fairly clean, but dated. I say fairly clean because there was a few pieces of rubbish under the bed like an old milk carton. Nonetheless, everything else was of a good clean standard. - The room had not been replenished properly when we checked-in. Only one small bottle of water was provided for two guests; coffee and tea had not been provided. Note: both issues were promptly resolved when reported, which is what you would expect. - Though we didn't report it as we just closed the bathroom door instead, we did get a strong cigarette smell coming from the shower drain. Not sure if the hotel offers smoking rooms or whether it was just a guest not following rules. - Some of the gym equipment and machines were partly broken. One or two in particular could result in serious injury. I didn't use the pool so can't comment on it unfortunately. It was a small pool though and looked pretty clean. I also didn't use the TV, so can't comment on the range of channels available. My room didn't include a breakfast option so I'm unable to comment on the quality of the food and selection. Overall, I would have given this hotel 5 stars, given that it was pretty clean overall and I actually had a comfortable and relaxing stay; plus it was good value compared to what you paid. However, some of the issues noted above marred the experience, so hence the 4 stars. But I would definitely stay here again in future for an affordable stay in Muscat.
Stayed here for a couple of weeks with work. I found the hotel very clean and tidy. Breakfast was good with plenty of choices. Ate in the restaurant several times and found the food okay. The location was handy for shops and small local restaurants, also walking distance of large shopping malls.
We stayed for 1 day, rooms were clean and the food was good , air conditioning system was a little old Internet was average speed and staff was polite Overall not bad , its good hotel for short staying time
We were there for an one night stopover program by our airline, so we didn't chose this hotel by ourselves. It was not far from the airport (15 min). Room was clean. No big selection for breakfast but sufficient. For one night it is definitely satisfactory.
maximum 3 stars hotel breakfast very basic without good coffee or eggs and no fresh fruits around 30 minutes walk to sultan al kaboos mosque around 20 minutes walk to the beach around 10 minutes walk to shopping center cheap option for muscat stayed 2 nights in january 2016
We werent supposed to stay here. We missed our connecting flight from Muscat, Oman airways gave us a stay in this hotel during the layover. It was a royal experience. The hotel near to the market. The food served here is finger licking tasty. The rooms, ambience were all above our expectation. We specially want to acknowledge the help provided by the hotel receptionist SANGITA. Since, the stay was unplanned, we were not carrying any local currency and the local shops were not accepting US Dollars. SANGITA helped us with her own money so that we could buy medicines. Me and my husband were touched by her noble gesture. All in all if I ever visit muscat again i will definitely opt for this hotel. Thank you for the hospitality.
I stayed at this hotel twice for business trips, it has a really nice location not far from two big shopping malls, and in a vital area with easy access to other parts of the city. the hotel itself is clean and staff are nice and friendly. i tried breakfast once but it was a little dissapointing. Rooms are big, clean and nicely furnished.
If you're into good shopping in Muscat, this hotel is just perfect. It is a 10 minute walk to two of the biggest malls in the city which are Muscat Grand Mall and Avenues Mall.If you are looking for precious metals like silver and gold or some cultural souveniers, you may opt to take a taxi to Mutrah Souq which just about a 15 minute drive.Grand Mosque is also a couple of km from the hotel. The great plus factor I really like with this hotel aside from two commendable staff, Ms Susan and Ms. Sanggita who made me feel truly at home is the nearby beach which is a five minute walk from the place...you can take an earyly morning walk to see the sunrise and feel the fresh ocean breeze or in the afternoon, be mesmerized by the mystical beauty of the golden sky during sunset.I have booked in this hotel three times and I am definitely coming back. This is a perfect hotel for me.
