Update from a review I did from 2017. My biggest dislike of this location was the lack of a safety lock or do not disturb sign. So I gave them 3 stars. I have increased the stars this time. My husband stayed here a second time and there was a do not disturb sign. Made all the difference. Much better experience. It was difficult the first trip due to adjusting to a new time zone and long international flights. This time no interrupted sleep. Staff were friendly and helpful just like last time. Room was clean and larger than expected. Good location and not too much noise. I will definitely stay here again.
I really enjoyed this hotel. It’s about 10-12 min walk from the train station but is in a nice quiet neighborhood. It took us about 5 minutes to get to Theresienwiese (where Octoberfest takes place). They had a great Christmas festival there. Then 15 more minutes to get to Rathaus (Townhall). Plus an underground station is also nearby (3 min). The staff is very welcoming, wifi is great, rooms are clean and nice, breakfast is very homey, fresh and has hot food as well as good selection of everything else. We had to pay for wifi, but that is normal for Germany. Would I stay there again? Definitely! P.S. The hotel also has a good bar that works till late and serves good variety of drinks.
Was in a good location for the Christmas market and had parking on site (fee required). The reception staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was ok, sele tion of breads, meats and cheeses. The big downside really was the bed was very hard and uncomfortable.
Stayed here 3 nights in October. It’s very close to Hackebrucke station and within 10 minutes walk of the Hauptbahnhof. There are also bus and tram stops nearby so very handy for getting around. We arrived early evening on a Thursday and were checked in quickly. The guy on reception was really friendly and made us feel welcome. He had previously shown another couple where everything was located on a map and also where to go near the hotel for something to eat. Our room was on the 4th floor and was a decent size with a balcony. It was quiet. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was very spacious. The room was exceptionally clean. Breakfast was good, plenty to choose from for most tastes. Lovely big pot of coffee brought fresh to the table. There is a small bar next to the reception but we did not use this, it did look comfy though. The decor is dated, but this does not impact on a lovely place to stay.
Just got home from a long weekend in Munich to see River dance but this isn't about the show it's about the Hotel. We had room 407 which is NOTHING like the advertised pictures however it was clean, adequate and comfortable. I would recommend it for location and the Breakfast was fresh and delicious. The Staff not over friendly and wasn't given a city map however the Spanish guy working the afternoons into the evening was friendly, informative and always there for a chat. We liked him very much and was a great representative of an other wise middle of the road Hotel. Bit in fairness it is value for money. Be prepared for them to add on parking fees. A terrible wayof earning a few euros more. Once again. Your Spanish Senor is the flag ship of the hotel. I seriously recommend for a weekend.
this place is so clean tidy and friendly, and so close the the festival grounds.breakfast is a buffet continental style but there is plenty to chose from. this hotel is ideally situated for the city also.
Stayed here with a group for Oktoberfest. The rooms are older and basic but have everything you need (except a kettle) has a mini bar, the wifi is 3.50€ per day, per room for up to 5 devices. It worked pretty well. Breakfast is basic but nice, bread, spreads, tea, instant coffee, cereal, fruit, yoghurt, cheeses, meats, salads, cakes, eggs, sausages etc. our neighbors where pretty noisy each night but that's to be expected during a massive festival of all day drinking. Rooms were cleaned daily, the beds were very comfy. Given the location it wasn't that noisy from the streets at night. Located next to a train station (very short walk) and 30 m from the entrance to Oktoberfest. The staff are lovely and friendly. Had a 24hr bar (whether that's just for Oktoberfest or not I'm unsure). Has an elevator. I would stay again for the festival.
We stayed at the Senator Hotel early this month. Located very close to the central metro station (10-15minute walk). If you are renting a car , please note that the public parking places outside the Hotel are very limited (only 5-6 spots) and the in-hotel parking is quite expensive. We chose to park outside , costing only about 6EUR for 24hours, but a 3-4minute walk from our hotel. The room and bathroom very big , no elevator if your allotted room is on the 1st floor , luckily the reception guy helped us to bring the luggage up to the room .Breakfast is average and served at the -1/basement level of the hotel building. The MOST disappointing thing - NO FREE INTERNET ! I mean which hotel does that nowadays ? Most of the hotels we have stayed at in the 20+ countries we have visited (including multiple cities in Germany) - all had a free wifi . Here we had to pay 3.50 EUR for 24hours of internet ! Couple of restaurants around 7-15minutes walking radius of the hotel , but since most of the eating places close down by 9:30/10pm , make sure you go in for an early dinner.
Old facility n the bed in my room is like making noise (old wooded bed) each time I turn around. The good part is is very close to metro station n also the Oktoberfest location...about 5 mins walking Also take note this hotel has no air conditioning n also wifi need to paid (not as mentioned in web site is free wifi. Parking is euro 12 per day
We had no hot water during our visit so that made the experience a little sour. Staff at the time responded with it was out of their hands and fairly annoyed after most people had come down to complain. Pros Good breakfast. Clean bathroom and room as a whole Cons Damn hard beds No air conditioning - it was very hot. A fair bit of street noise with windows open Building is a lot older than the pictures make it out to be. So basically an average hotel - if you get it at a good price it is worth it. Good food, and clean.
