Best hotel I've stayed in for the price. Luxurious. And the deluxe breakfast was included just a few steps away from the hauptbanhoff.

Wonderful. Great location, staff and accommodations. Sofitel Munich comes highly recommended

Great hotel close to everything. Comfortable bed.

I simply can't think of a single negative during our 3 night stay. Hmmmm. Ok, the room key was a bit finicky when used to activate the elevator. Our room (460) was immaculate and not confining at all. The bed comfort was as good as I have ever experienced and the bathroom with walkin shower first rate. Not a big fan of the electronic mini bars which are becoming increasingly common. Personally I would like to see hotels offer a breakfast choice of either a full buffet or continental for those like myself who require little more than a good cup of coffee and a pastry. The spa area was first rate as well with staff on site to check your room key which is a very nice and secure option. Though the sauna, shower and steam rooms are "textile free" areas I would encourage folks to relax and enjoy the German way. Large towels are plentiful and those who choose can wrap themselves according to their level of comfort. The adjoining pool area is very nice and swimsuits are required. Of course the whole range of spa services are offered as well. All in all a great hotel in a great location, just a 2 minute walk out the south door of the main train platform area adjacent to the Starbucks. I look forward to my next visit.

Hotel is just 3 mins walking from central train station.

Good experience... central located with really nice pool and SPA area...

The Sofitel Hotel in Munich was in an excellent location plus the service from staff was superb! The rooms were very clean this hotel is highly recommended for your stay.

Nice hotel, over priced, and a solid 4.5 star, not 5 star

Everything was good, well, almost everything. This hotel does not offer a "breakfast included" option and indeed I consider too costly to pay 29 euros if yoy want it.

This was our second time to Munich for Oktoberfest and last year we stayed further away and had to take the train every where! This location was perfect for everything to do in Munich! We walked to Oktoberfest. We walked to the Augustiner Biergarten. We walked to the train station! We walked to shopping and dining! As far as the room was concerned, it was very modern and had plenty of amenities.

Very impressed with the level of service and how friendly the staff was during my stay

This hotel is amazing. 15 minutes from Marienplatz. A block away from the train station. Check-in staff is fantastic. Only downside is the lighting in the rooms is a bit dark - but too be expected from high-end, trendy hotel. Super pet friendly - room service menu for your furry friends!

Great hotel, great location, VERY expensive, bottle water was 14 euros. Airline lost luggage but returned to hotel same day, after 3 days of asking HOTEL for status, they kept blaming airline. Turs out it was in hotel the entire time. Hotel "compensated" by a fruit bow with a pear and some grapes...whoopie

Extremely convenient hotel adjacent to Munich's central rail station...with lots of options for food and tours. All staff members we encountered were extremely friendly and spoke perfect English. Modern, stylish rooms with tons of amenities.

The hotel was easy walking distance to Marienplatz and all the sights around the old part of Munich.

We reserved a prestige suite with a mountain view that was suppose to be very roomy. The reality is that there are no mountains to see and the suite was 2 story, tiny to the extreme and filthy. This hotel has a beautiful lobby and common areas, but the rooms are horrible and the suites are a joke. Felt totally ripped off, and asked to move multiple times. The suite we ended up with had a bathroom only a child could fit in and the carpet was buckled and the walls had big black marks on them against the stained furniture. The window looked into the train station. The hotel shows beautiful pictures of the lobby, but the reason you don't see suite pictures is because no one would ever book there if they did. Sofitel should be ashamed of themseleves for putting their name on this property. The desk manager said they didn't have money to fix the rooms...sorry I pre-paid in full and could not move. Also, the train station which is next to the hotel is in a rather seedy neighborhood...BEWARE!!!

Our stay at the Sofitel Munich came at the end of our Europe travels. It was a great finish! Since we were traveling by train, the location next to the Munich main station was perfect. No worries about noisy rooms - this hotel is high-end with great amenities. Quiet and peaceful. The front of the hotel is a historic postal building...but the rest of the hotel is modern and trendy. We loved the convenient location since we used the train system so much - traveling on day trips to Dachau Concentration Camp, to Neuschwanstein castle, etc. Overall a great hotel. As is typical in upper-end hotels, the food is pricey; we used room service one evening - the food was better than most room service meals.

Great location next to the main train station. Take the S8 train in from the airport and the hotel is right there. We took day tours on the Gray Line which picked up passengers in front of the Karstadt Department store about a block away from the hotel. You can walk anywhere very easily and feel safe.

The hotel is located adjacent to the central station of Munich. That was convenient for us as I returned rental car at the station and took airport bus departing from the station. U-bahn, S-bahn and Tram are all within a few minutes walk. When I felt like it, I walked 10 minutes to city center for meal and/or beer. The building of the hotel looks impressive - well worth of 5 star hotel. The room is very modern and high-tech. I would imagine some like it and others do not. I personally liked it, but I can easily imagine family with little child would not appreciate sharp corners and glass doors everywhere. I liked the bed. It was big, and soft enough for me. There was a Bose audio that you can connect your iPod. There were connectors for HDMI, USB, PC Video, and S-Video that I assume you can connect your device to playback on a flat TV in the room. Very nice shower. Slow filling but good bath tab. The vanity was a little too modern to me and I found it a little hard to use. I did not like the toilet as it was small and was not completely isolated from the rest of the room. Overall, I could not believe that they asked for less than $200 per night for such a nice room. I would need to pay double or more in the states for a similar hotel.

Overall very good. Had to change rooms because of two reservations with different room types. Would have been nice for hotel to comp. the upgrade rather than make me pack up and move.
