Without sounding like I'm bragging as I know people have seen many more or every country in the world, I have however been lucky enough to have seen 89. That means from my backpackers years to the most recent Oberoi in Mumbai that's 100's of hotels. Albeit relative and with loads of fond memories to look back upon, Anupam and his team will literally blow you away with their hospitality, genuine service and endless welcomes and warmth. As a travel specialist (I am honoured to be working in the industry) I have never ever been so blown away by a Hotel in my life. Every aspect was perfect, absolutely perfect. I like to keep my options open and swayed between various locations in Mumbai and Hotel brands. Sofitel, Taj, Leela etc. I am a big believer that what is meant to be will be and by chance my 4 night booking fell ultimately in the hands of the Oberoi. I thought being #1 on TA it had to be a pretty safe bet even though the elements of all these other hotels make them unique whether it is history or location. I could name every staff member from our housekkeper to the friendly staff at Felix to our concierge, the front desk, the OMG spa, our wonderful drivers (I totally recommend the Executive Lounge level including transfers) as the hour drive from the airport is deluxe/comfortable in their white gloved "house car - Mercedes". Please do not let the drive prevent you from staying here as waking up to sea views and preparing for the evening across sunsets are stunning. Oberoi is positioned on the best side of the peninsula, more quiet than Taj Palace and much more social along the waters edge with the locals gathering together to enjoy this space in time with families and friends. They even sang happy birthday to me when I shared one of my 8 birthday cakes, 4 from Oberoi during my Indian visit. It was so special. I visited one other hotel for Sunday brunch back to the airport and it was only $10 in an Uber, so peanuts to get around considering the overall sensational experience you will receive at the Oberoi. What astounds me is that the GM Anupam is so accessible and down to earth, if ever you believe the saying a company's culture is driven from the top, Anupam has lead a wonderfully friendly team who cannot do enough for you. Congratulations Anupam (thank you and your team for everything) and for making my 50th birthday the most special ever. If you are considering Oberoi and are questioning the $100-$300 more a night than other hotels then it is money very well spent - do not give it a second thought. I am hooked on the Oberoi brand and will find it hard to ever step down from the highs I still feel 1 week later back in Sydney. I would shout from the rooftop if I can how beautiful this experience has been in my life. Ziya, quite simply the best Indian food that has graced my taste buds, thank you to your team and the rose petals on our table. So so special a night. Until next time, from my heart x
We could not of asked for better at this hotel... from the room to the food. It's been wonderful...A ocean view is so worthwhile. All of our needs were taken care of..we even had someone knocking on the door to check if we needed anything. Wonderful
To Mr, Oberoi, The stay at The Oberoi Mumbai was indeed wonderful. The General manager Mr. Anupam Dasgupta was kind and courteous and displayed true leadership qualities. The hotel runs flawlessly and service is top notch. The rooms are beautifully planned and food is fabulous. Being a seasoned traveler and having stayed in all top hotels across the world I have not met a Manager like Anupam Dasgupta who displays a true sense of hospitality and genuineness. The hotel is lucky to have such a Manager. I wish him Iuck and progress for his future endeavors. I highly recommend the hotel in case one is travelling to Mumbai. Whilst staying in this superb hotel. The wonderful atrium, with the busy ground floor areas, to the immaculate rooms, the wonderful staff and the continuously evolving food, makes this hotel a place to linger. And a hug from the GM...
One of the most stunning hotels out there. Amazing service coupled with exquisite dining makes this resort an unforgettable experience. The hotels convenient location also offer magnificent views of the sea.
The Oberoi Mumbai perched, virtually at the tip of Nariman point is like a cream coloured sanctuary of calm. From its amazing atrium lobby with the ubiquitous red grand piano and immaculate white marble floor. I was lucky enough to attend their opening back in 1986 and fell in love with it then. I have had an ongoing fondness for the lovely staff and management here, now helmed so wonderfully by Anupam Dasgupta, that I genuinely call and treat it as my south Mumbai home. Thank you all so very much.
Sensational 3 night stay at The Oberoi Mumbai, the location, the views, the food, the service, the care - stellar on all fronts!! Thank you Mr. Dasgupta, Miss. Mehta and teams also a huge shout out to Chef Swapnil and Chef Satbir.
We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights. Excellent locationof the hotel. Courteous , polite, helpful staff . Especially thanks to Mr Dasgupta G M of the hotel . Food in hotel is very tasty. Service at every corner of the hotel is very perfect .
Excellent location and butler service Stayed for a week and wonderful attention and small gesture of kindness daily from butler Breakfast was a disappointment obviously had too many guests they could deal not deal with and it was a different restaurant for 5 consecutive days No buffet spread so had to order from menu and it was s.l.o.w Front desk and concierge were amazing But overpriced yoga and spa services
Very nice hotel with all the luxuries you could expect from a 5 star hotel but this isn't one of the newest properties or they have the latest infrastructure. That doesn't mean the hotel don't have a class and in all fairness its absolutely amazing hotel but I certainly believe that they aren't doing huge justice to the Oberoi Brand. Old property but still has charm. Breakfast was amazing and although I wasn't too keen on the surrounding areas but I'm been told that it was pretty decent place in Mumbai.
