After the recent airport modifications, the Hilton is now only 5 minutes or so from the arrivals area of Mumbai airport. This used to be the Le Meridien several years ago, and the same grand structures are still there. The beds are comfortable, the showers are excellent and the WiFi is satisfactory. I found the wait staff at the restaurant to be superb! They attentively listened to our dietary restrictions and followed through in making adjustments to our meals as requested. Very friendly and courteous too. On our last morning, we were surprised by the wait staff with a serving of chocolate cake thanking us for our stay. Not sure if they do this for everyone or if we were somehow "special" - still we enjoyed their attention. I would stay here again the next time I fly into Mumbai from overseas.

A few minutes from the international airport, the Hilton Mumbai is an excellent place to stay just for one night, in transit. If you intend to stay some more time, to visit Mumbai, I would recommend to stay at the Taj Mahal downtown. As several clients already comment, the reception is slow and not well trained but the hotel, in general, is nice. Excellent breakfast, nice Executive Lounge, nice swimming pool, everything is OK. The only problem is the personnel but, I would not say it is an Hilton problem but a typical Indian problem.

If you want to experience a great hotel close to Mumbai airport look no further than the Hilton International Mumbai. Elegant lobby and fantastic and attentive staff. Rooms are well appointed. And there is a very comfortable library style lounge/bar. You can't go wrong of that is the location you are looking for.

For a second thought I had a real airport hotel, but it's not walkable.... no signs unless you take main exit and find the Hilton sign among the zillion other people holding up hotel boards. From there all good however: good, though dated, rooms. Excellent staff and a good bed for a night rest : what else does one expect from an airport hotel?

The location of the hotel is in close proximity to the airport - about 5 minutes by car - but that's the only good thing about this hotel. Upon arrival there were 3 members of staff standing outside, one opened the car door, one said hello and one swiftly come along and grabbed our purses and bags out of our hands - when we stated that we were ok holding our own bags, we were told that they had to be put through a scanner and they were whisked away. As we climbed the stairs to the front entrance, we waited anxiously for our bags to show up, whilst we were encouraged to move indoors - we ignored the coaxing of the staff and waited until we had our purses back in our hands. The check-in was smooth, though we were a bit surprised that we were not shown to our rooms, but were pointed to the lifts that were behind us. We easily found our room - which was quite musty - it was clear that the hotel was relatively empty and that no one had stayed in this room for quite a while. The decor was quite boutique-y, which is not to our liking - but as we were only staying for one night, we weren't too bothered. On our return from dinner, at around 10pm, we decided to have a cup of tea in the executive lounge and were surprised to see that all the food had already been cleared up, even though the lounge was supposed to be open until 10.30pm. We requested masala tea and were stunned when it was made with a masala tea bag - rather than being boiled tea - we were in India after all and felt this was the least that could be expected in an executive lounge in a Hilton in Mumbai. The tea tasted lukewarm and we decided to retreat to our rooms and make our own cups of tea. At around 10.30pm we could hear the tv blaring in the room next to ours. When we called reception to ask them to speak to the person in the adjoining room, we were told that they would see what they could do. Two more phonecalls later we were told that speaking to the individual would not be possible, as the individual was in a suite. We were quite surprised at this response and decided we would request a room change - even though we were already unpacked and in our pyjamas, ready for bed. My friend went downstairs to speak to the front desk to request a room change, whilst I quickly packed all our stuff back into our suitcases. About 15-20 minutes later we moved to another room on another floor and as we went to call front desk to ask for our suitcases to be brought to down to us - we realised the phone wasn't working! Luckily the room had another phone which was functioning and our suitcases soon arrived. We then received a call from front desk apologising for the trouble and asked if we would like to move to a suite. We were a bit stunned that this offer was only being made after we had just moved into another room. We declined the offer of the suite. As we were boarding a flight to London the next day we wanted to make sure our electronic devices were fully charged - there were two plug points near the desk (on the wall opposite the beds) but no empty plug points near the beds. It would've been ideal to have our phones next to the beds as they double as an alarm clock. There were also some health and safety issues - one of the bed posts was nearly coming off the wall; he shower unit was covered in mould (though front desk assured us it was the marbling effect on the tile!!). The buffet breakfast left much to be desired - there was a variety of food but a minimum amount of each - perhaps this was because of the limited number of guests in the hotel - nevertheless, none of it looked appealing. There was a lack of service, even though there were a handful of guests at breakfast. The eggs took forever to appear at our table and when they did they appeared in a soup bowl!! - eggs bhurji in a soup bowl? I asked for plain yogurt and when it was eventually brought to me, it appeared to have been heated in the microwave and was beginning to curdle. The muffins were dry and I had to put butter on it to make it edible. After speaking to the front office manager about our experience at this hotel, we were offered several apologies and complementary transport to the airport (by the way, if you do decide to stay here (though not quite sure why you would), don't book the airport transfer from the hotel (it is triple the price of what a normal cab will charge) - cool cabs can be found just outside and the concierge will happily get one for you).

Once again returned to Mumbai and as usual stayed next to the airport to have a short travel before my flight. Be carefull as in you stay in Navi it could take you 2 hours to get to the airport but the Hilton takes 5 minutes. Room excellent and the staff very helpfull the business lounge has good staff and 5 star surrounding.Will return for a relaxing night before my back home.

After getting caught in the monsoon this was a haven of paradise! Comfort, great food and a great atmosphere. Rooms were OK but could do with a good update. Decor was OK but just Ok. Staff were very helpful and pleasant....nothing was too much trouble. Hilton members club was a bonus. Really pleasant stay especially the night before your return from the international airport. Great stay!

Really nice to stay. Good location. Very nice staff high quality services. High comfort things work. TV operation hassle free .price bit high especially food cost. Some rooms are just superb. Overall very nice experience.

I'm really surprised with a lovely dinner planned for me on this special occasion of Diwali by my most special person thanks so much to the entire staff of #HiltonMumbaiInternational# food is really awesome I'm really enjoying this dinner thanks once again.

This is not my idea of a Hilton, on the contrary. Superficially it appears opulent and sophisticated but on closer examination it fails on so many levels - poor customer service (despite there guarantee to make things right if they fail to deliver!), rooms are from a different era...not enough plug points, the phone wasn't working, shower unit has marble covered in mould (although I was assured that this is the marbling effect!!!). Somehow the other marble in the bathroom isn't that black...highly suspect). The exec lounge looks inviting but service was very poor...it's supposed to stay open until 10.30 pm but everything was cleared away by 10 pm and the waiter was ready to go home!! There are dead flowers in the reception...sums up the hotel perfectly! This was my last stay in India after a fabulous week at the Marriott in Goa...Hilton could learn a lot from them!! Next time I'm sticking with the Marriott group.
