We are always fascinated at what we find behind behind the inevitable walls in Mexican cities. From the road, this uneventful location meant nothing. Once inside, you are enveloped with lush gardens and extraordinary beauty. We recently spent a full week here as our headquarters for Cuernavaca and surrounding areas. From the incredibly friendly and attentive bellman in the front lobby to virtually every other person we encountered, this place exuded hospitality and friendliness. The remarkable staff at the front desk was always helpful with cash exchanges and our daily ration of cold waters for our day's adventure. The cleaning staff was equally remarkable in their attention to details – – our room was ready and incredibly welcoming after a day prowling around the countryside. We ate on the grounds several nights and while the food was very good, service was not a strong point. There was a very well-equipped fitness room on the third floor with aerobic machines, free weights, and multi – exercise machines. The Wi-Fi was extraordinary and enabled easy streaming. The bathroom was well appointed with a great shower and hot water on demand. Regrettably, there was no refrigerator in the room. Speaking of rooms, the location you choose is critical. This place is a hotspot for weddings, various parties and conventions of business groups. Our room 54 was smack dab in the middle of it all and adjacent to the work area where the staff did much of the preparation. Exercise great caution on selecting your room based on the many events. The grounds are luscious and there are four or five pools of various size throughout this facility's marvelously maintained landscape. Parking for our rental car was effortless and the bellman out front took the keys from us at night and after just a few minutes presented our vehicle to us each morning with helpful hints about our day's adventure. But for the proximity to the many events and the accompanying noise and disarray, the only other point of concern was work on the room directly behind us. It started early and ended late and on two occasions an epoxy-like fume permeated our room and we had to flee while the room aired out. It does seem that management may have taken into consideration the impact such work would've had on surrounding rooms. All that aside, this was an extraordinary stay and made our week in Cuenavaca incredibly memorable.
in an enchanting setting, so I would imagine that the hotel facilities are equally nice. I have visited here twice, sitting in the beautiful garden, and have thoroughly enjoyed both experiences. This time, most of us just had snacks and drinks. I actually had a hamburger, something that I rarely do, & it was positively delicious.
Our group of eight (seven tourists and our guide) had a lovely dinner outside the hotel in the garden among the trees and flowers. The weather and the surroundings were beautiful, and the food and service were wonderful.. We were able to relax and practice the Spanish we had learned at la escuela Univeral. I highly recommend Las Quintas for an elegantly casual experience.
I was here for my niece's wedding and she had reserved it as a block for family and friends. The grounds were absolutely breathtaking with the flowers, topiaries, and trees. The rooms were in the Hacienda style, which I loved and it was much larger than a NYC apartment with a little balcony for coffee in the mornings if you choose. The food was wonderful in that they had various styles at different buffet stations; some made fresh on the spot. I felt the food was "organic" as it tasted fresh and fragrant (fruits and juices). The staff were helpful and very friendly. I would highly recommend this resort to all.
Don't be fooled by the outside. Once inside this hotel, it is beautiful. We were not impressed with the sculptures, but loved the gardens. Our room was huge, but felt like we were in a cavern. All tile flooring and walls. We will ask for a smaller older room next time. We were in the newer section of the hotel. We loved the breakfast. It was fantastic.
This is a nice hotel in a quiet part of the city. The hotel has large and beautiful grounds with a couple of swimming pools suitable for children. The rooms are simple but clean and have everything that is needed, although the quality varies throughout the hotel. The breakfast looked good, although we ate in the city centre. The hotel appears to be used as a wedding venue at weekend. Be sure to avoid rooms near the party/disco hall. (We proactively asked to move, which was accommodated, but some of the rooms are in the same building and it would be very loud.)
I have copied an old review I did a few years ago with some recent updates. As some of these reviews mention, some of the rooms here are a little older and worn. I have stayed here many times over the past 15 years and the good things about this hotel far out weigh the negative. If you want the place you stayed to be part of your memories of a place you visit, this hotel is perfect for that. There are several styles of rooms here, some larger than others, but I have never thought a room in the older part of the hotel too small. Usually there is too much space if anything. The grounds are immaculate with statues and flora; the atmosphere is distinctly Mexican and most the rooms are decorated with a local flavor. The staff has always been helpful and I've never had a problem here. The restaurant and bar are fine. One reason I like it here is that I've met many people from all over the world while strolling around the garden courtyard. Some are here just for the hotel/spa. There are stores within walking distance and I've never felt threatened out walking by myself. The gym facilities are good. This hotel is a good romantic place to stay. If you want a sterile cookie cutter hotel this is not a good place for you. They built a new ‘wing’ of rooms since my last stay and I do not like these at all. They kept the atmosphere the same on the outside but the rooms in this area are small with many things I do not like. I was with a group of people and looked in a few of the other rooms in the new section and it was all the same. The rooms and beds were too small. There is no obvious lock on the inside of the door. No convenient outlets for charging. No smoke detector that I could see. No hair dryer. The HVAC in each room seemed to be abnormally loud with clanking sounds making it hard to sleep. The sound damping is not so good as sounds from the hallway are very loud. A great addition is that there is now a modern large market right across the street with a small restaurant and all the grocery items you would want.
This is a unique and beautiful place, however ensure your room is at least not rooms 44 or 45 as I felt I was sleeping in a working factory, unbearable noise all night from some sort of machinery. A true shame because the place is extremely nice and have had multiple meetings and stays here. Well located, food is good and meeting rooms are nice. What a shame!
One of the best things is that you are in the city but you can relax at the same time.. the food is amazing and the breakfast times are the best... the rate is affordable and close to everything in cuernavaca.. a true Mexican Hacienda !
Had a delightful lunch on their patio. Buffet style with good choices & an egg station where we had them make us eggs to order. We checked out the rooms also, nice and not too expensive. Clean. We would consider staying here the next time.
