Disliked: Staff & service
Air Canada changed our flights and I tried to change our room date which they had plenty of vacancy. The hotel would change the date but was going to fine us $270 for the change.
We stayed at The Bonaventure for a little over $200 and it was maybe the nicest hotel we have been to at any price. I cannot recommend it enough. Mid Century Modern Masterpiece.
Small boutique hotel. Room was really nice as was the facility. Staff was great. One issue is construction on the road in front of the place, but they did have a valetmeet us on a side road and help to carry our luggage the block or so over. Breakfast was pretty basic, and served from 8 to 10. We came down around 9:15 and they had run out of bagels and bread to our surprise.
Awesome hotel and fantastic location. Although there was street construction right out front, this did not impact our stay in anyway. All sorts of food, shopping, entertainment within steps of the front door.
still worth going there, add some drama to your tr
OK the area is under serious construction, so your vehicle will be picked up by the valet a block or 2 away from the hotel, and delivered there as well. The staff are really good about accommodating everyone in spite of the mess out front.
The stay was so lovely! We will stay again. Through no fault of the hotel, there is instruction in the front street. Did not really impact us… rolling luggage was a very minor inconvenience, but if you call the hotel at your arrival they will send someone out to carry it!
We enjoyed our stay tremendously. Our only caution is that the road construction makes access a little tricky and valet parking is offsite. Taking the metro or train might be a better option.
We loved everything except the one caveat is the hotel did not let the guests know about the construction for two blocks in front of the hotel. The GPS took us in a circle for an hour. There was no way of finding the hotel without parking somewhere with hazards on and walking to find the hotel through the construction. Once settled we loved the proximity to everything we wanted to do.
Everything was great, including the breakfast, but the road is all torn up in front of the hotel so it is difficult to bring in bags.
We self parked right around the corner for $45/24 hours and had access to our car. That worked out very well.
This fabulous small hotel checks all the boxes; location, dining, shopping, great espresso based coffee & breakfast that is included.
But the shower… Magnifique! So often in old hotels the water pressure is poor… not here. Not only was the water pressure wonderful but the shower is like a spa experience!
Clean fabulous room accessible to all of old Montreal and dining

Lovely room . Good location. Street construction made it very difficult to get around. Not the hotel’s fault, but they should/could have advised us in advance so we would have had a chance to evaluate our hotel choice.
