Booked through Trip Advisor. Very basic hotel but centrally located. Staff is polite but definitely not friendly. Their answers to any question were intended to push you else where. I don't speak French so not sure if that's the reason -- staff's English was pretty good though. Another thing is parking. I know I'm arriving late so I tried to call in to pay for parking in advance. They won't allow me. So I ended up parking in a garage a few blocks away.
Although the location was great, the room was tiny as was the bed. It was very hot but we did not put the air con on as it was so noisy. Instead we opened the window which did let in some air but also some street noise. The breakfast was more than adequate. The wifi was very good. While we were in Montreal the Grand Prix was about to start and the hotel held a small reception to celebrate this event. This was a very nice thing for them to do.
good location. satisfactory if traveling alone . small rooms, no where to put luggage, no floor space either. wouldn't book there unless last resort.
Room was very small and had double bed-expected queen though advertised as " standard bed" .It was high event time in Montreal so price was elevated was up to $400. per night Hotel parking not available under hotel-had to use pay public overnight parking a block away. Breakfast was included, good location Montreal Central, Hotel was clean. It was only our second time staying in Montreal Central. Our first time was down the street at better hotel for similar price If I had known I would have stayed somewhere else even if away from City centre. There are lots more hotels to chose from in City Centre. I will never stay here again
I stayed here for just one night and I really enjoyed my stay here. The customer service is excellent, helpful and friendly front desk staff. Rooms are small but clean. Also, the bus to the airport stops in front of the hotel.
I stayed here on a solo weekend trip to Montreal. The room + bathroom were tiny but clean, but I literally just needed a room to sleep and store my luggage. When I *was* in the room, there was free wifi, a coffeemaker, and w window looking down to the street and I was happy. The small desk made it easy to do some work so I didn't have to sit on the bed. The free breakfast had a great selection, and the location was superb! Right around the corner from St. Catherine Street and a very short walk to Chinatown and Old Port. Also walkable to the Greyhound bus station. Worth every penny and I'll definitely stay here again!
Great location in Downtown Montreal. Feels safe and quick walk to lots of fun and exciting things! I would say the size of the rooms is shocking... Very small. My son had a small playpen in there, and there was hardly room to walk. I don't think most people go to Down town Montreal to hang out in their hotel room, so it's okay that this place is not glitz and glam, but I would still look for something with a little more square footage next time.
The location was great. Near everything, really! The room was fine. A place to lay my head for 2-nights. The continental breakfast was adequate. It was a last minute weekend getaway and I enjoyed myself. A special thank you to Judy. Warm check-in, warm welcome and a wonderful attitude. Thanks! J. Miller
I recently stayed three nights at Hotel Travelodge Montreal Centre. Checking in was easy. The front desk clerk that checked me in was engaging but professional. After she checked me in, she printed directions for a cigar bar that I asked about. The room was clean, comfortable, but small. I would be surprised if it were 200 square feet. The full size bed had a comfortable mattress. You could control the air and heat in the room. I could not hear the anything from neighboring rooms. There is a free daily breakfast served on the mezzanine level. It comprised of yogurt, cheese slices, sliced fresh fruit, cereal, several types of milk, croissants, bread and a couple of other items. You could purchase hot entrees for $6.95 plus tax (Canadian). The hotel is literally around the corner from Chinatown. There is a mall is one block away. The Place de Arts (fine arts center), and the Montreal Contemporary Art center are two blocks away. It is walking distance from Old Montreal, Port Montreal and downtown Montreal.
I was spontaneously spending a few days in Montreal and I was looking for somewhere that I could stay at the last minute, and I was excited to find this place! I would definitely stay here again if I find myself in Montreal. Location - The hotel is very close to lots of fun and interesting things to do, including Chinatown. A moderate sized grocery store is one block away in a shopping complex if you needed some small snacks for your room. Easy to navigate to the Saint Laurent metro station stop, and some busses outside as well. There's also a bus 747 stop right next to the hotel in case you're coming directly from the airport. Facilities - There's a fitness center with a few pieces of equipment, like a treadmill, but nothing over the top. They also have a small gift shop on the same level as the reception desk with tshirts and other little souvenirs. There's a small lounge area on the same level as the reception desk but the sofas are ridiculously low to the ground, I'm 5'10" and I sunk down so low that I had to crawl off the floor to get back up after realizing the mistake of sitting down :-) Also, the WiFi was pretty good in my room Room - I was in a double twin bed room, since I didn't book in time to just get one larger bed, and my bed was comfy. The room wasn't large but it had everything I needed, including a desk. Water pressure is good and they gave small toiletries in the bathroom as well. The only complaints I had noise-wise were people coming in late and yelling in the hallways - which isn't the hotel's fault, so I don't blame them for that. Also, the elevator was poorly labeled, and I am an ignorant American, so I kept confusing the "Mezzanine" with the 1st floor and the Reception area - that's three different floors, but my stupid self though they were all the same thing! Some elevator buttons were labeled clearly but others were not. Breakfast - This is the area that could be improved the most in my opinion. The continental breakfast is modest but substantial enough to keep you full but may not appease picky eaters. There's hard boiled eggs, slices of American cheese, yogurts of various flavors, plain croissants, chocolate croissants, sliced fresh fruit (pineapple, cantaloupe and watermelon) and about six kinds of cereals. There's also bread for the toaster, coffee and juice. Sometimes I saw bananas. I would've appreciated a few more options to accommodate my vegan diet since I mostly just ate a ridiculous amount of fresh fruit and black coffee. They also had options for buying breakfast at a modest price if you were interested in having pancakes, various meats, cooked potatoes or whatever else. Overall I am happy I found this hotel and I would definitely stay here again. If you're looking for somewhere that's a reasonable price, close to fun things to do in Montreal, and has free breakfast/free wifi, this is it!
