Great, polite staff and basic, clean, comfortable rooms with properly working TV, mini fridge, hair dryer and comfortable bedding. Kudos to Tooki (not sure if I'm spelling his name right) for providing an excellent customer service.

You get what you pay for. Nothing to fancy but it's not to cheap

Overally the hotel was decent. You can tell that it was a business decision because not much effort was put into it. The rooms are old and not very well kept. The beds were clean but the decoration and everything else was poor. I guess you get your moneys worth

I am a very simple person, so I don't need an extravagant hotel to make me happy. I booked this hotel at the last minute. I am so happy that they had rooms available. I stayed in room 302. They have an elevator which I thought was nice. Also, I liked that they provided a continental breakfast, but I didn't get to make that (8AM-10AM). The room was so clean. The room had a fan, breakfast table w/chairs, LCD TV, Wifi (signal dropped sometimes, and a refrigerator. Just to let you know, the toilet is small, and the bed was a little hard, but I was very comfortable!!!!

First room they gave us had clearly visible blood stains on the matress, underneath the sheets. Sheets didn't feel washed at all, stained and had someone's hair. We requested another room, receptionist wasn't friendly at all, and appeared to be irritated that we requested a room change. new room seemed to be cleaner, and even had a descent size lcd tv in it, so we decided to stay, but regreted the decision soon after. The neighorbs from the room next to ours got really loud around 10pm. With poor sound isolations, it was impossible to get any sleep, as they were drinking and kept getting louder and louder. I called receptionist several times, but he was just calling their room which had no effect on them either, it was only when I called receptioning 3rd time threatening to call the police, the room suddenly became quiet. Next nigh it got even worse, as we woke up at 4am from loud banging noises coming from the room next door. Receptionist again promissed to talk to them, and their phone kept ringing, as I assume complains kept coming in from other rooms as well, but it didn't help either. Next day we changed hotels, and for the same price, the staff was super friendly and attentive to our needs, rooms were also nice and clean. Please avoid this hotel at all costs, there are much better budget hotels in Montreal.

I recommend this hotel to budget tourists who want to explore Montreal. The location is convenient, close to the hub Berri-UQAM Metro station, the bus terminal (you can take the express bus to the airport from there), and four Metro stops from the railway station. The hotel's staff is helpful, professional, and fluent in both English and French. The room has a mini-fridge. I do recommend at the same time that business travelers stay elsewhere. There is a lot of things that reveal that the hotel is not designed for them: - the room had no iron or ironing board - there were no hangers - continental breakfast served from 8 to 10 - if you're in town on business, you have to eat elsewhere - room layout not convenient for work. The only place where I could put my laptop was the dresser. Electric outlets are few and hidden behind the dresser - general lack of attention to detail: smoke smell in the lobby, burnt-out light bulb in the room

Comfortable value stay. Good location within walking distance of old downtown & St. Catherine's tourist attractions.

Perfect hotel if you are twentysomethings with knapsacks. This is a hotel at bargain prices as opposed to a bargain. The rooms were clean, the staff marvelously friendly and helpful. but everything else was marginal. One of our two rooms was freezing , the other stuffy. Little things like hooks to hang clothes were absent. parking was excellent. We chose this hotel because it is close to Vieux Montreal. But the neighborhood was not inviting to walk a mile thru, so we ended up driving everywhere anyway. .

The room was comfortable, You have a decent breakfast (muffins croissants orange juice and coffee) and is near the subway.

The hotel staff was wonderful, the room is average for what you pay for. Awesome deal, ideal location, within walking distance to the metro, old montreal, chinatown and sainte catherines street. Awesome for travelers, breakfast was free, although pretty basic. Would recommend to travelers!

Located on St. Hubert on a street completely packed with hotels, the Hotel Elegant offered amazing value for the price. Fantastic location, 2 minutes walk from the airport shuttle pick up/drop off stop and from the main train station at Berri UQAM. Also a block away from the Gay Village, which was a nice strip with tons of restaurants and cafes. Room was nice and clean, great fridge that kept our drinks arctic cold, staff was very accommodating when we had issues with our original room and wanted to switch. Very basic breakfast, but more than sufficient. Overall great stay, would definitely stay again when returning to Montreal.

We enjoyed our stay there, nice hotel, elevator, small breakfast. If you need it for couple of days, it's the best you can think of for this price.

This was one of the cheapest hotels available, and overall it was a good experience. Air conditioning was available sometimes, but it has to be turned on per floor. That means if others complain that it's cold, you might not get any (a vent in the ceiling controls the flow into the room). Firm pillows were a little too firm, and the soft pillows were lumpy. Continental breakfast was meager, but satisfying. The staff were always eager to please. Part of my rating is probably due to the fact that if anything seriously bothered me about my stay, the staff would do their best to correct it. Wi-fi was weak on the fourth floor, but there is an ethernet line and the internet was fine with that.

cheap and convenient place to be. the best value in montreal!

Location was excellent! Everything is in walking distance, including the Metro right around the corner. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. It's an old building, so the room had a distinct scent, but it was clean and really for the money, you can't go wrong. No complaints here. Would definitely stay here anytime I visit Montreal!

Pros: - close to everything (subway, stores, restaurants, greyhound, downtown, even library and movie theaters) - clean, quiet, non-smoking rooms; - a small fridge, TV, hair dryer, a phone; Cons: - no coffee machine (I was dying to get my tea in the morning before actually going out); - they didn't promote complimentary continental breakfast (8-10am), so I found out about it only on the last day of staying. But since it was just tea/coffee and bagels, it didn't really matter; - no digital clock in the room, so I had to use my phone to look up the time. Pretty inconvenient indoors; - they were making some minor repairments during my stay, but it didn't bother me much.

What we paid is what we get. Staff is so friendly with nice manner and helpful. Free Breakfast but same menu everyday with one or two items.

Very smelly. The staff was nice. It wasn't exactly what I'd call clean. The neighborhood was convenient and safe. If you're going to be out all day and need a bed and a shower, it's fine for the price. It just smelled very musty and like cigarettes, but we're easygoing, so we just opened the windows.

The hotel is very very near to Cetral bus Staion of Grayhond. Just cross the road and you are at the hotel front door. Small rooms. The breakfast was not good. People are very cooperative.

the hotel conditions: old carpet, needs an update, the towels, soaps are of the cheapest quality, the lights were dim around the hotel and in the room. The air condition was barely on some days.
