Good value hotel on the edge of the old town, also near to the Corum Conference Centre and tram stops! Small but adequate pool (closed in winter) and gym. Rooms are clean, contemporary and comfortable. Good business hotel.
In the centre of the city by the conference centre, we stayed three nights. Comfortable rooms, decent facilities and the breakfast buffet works well. The main thing about this hotel was its highly helpful and obliging staff, who worked well through the 'Beast from the East' weather.
I stayed at the Crowne Plaza Corum in Montpelier for three nights. It is a comfortable hotel with good facilities. Good variety of breakfast choices. Free and reliable WiFi is a bonus. Unfortunately the air conditioning in my room was broken and the staff unable to fix it. This made my room as the window can't be opened. The gym was limited, but looked clean, just like the rest of the hotel.
Very good overall. Quick, friendly check-in. Very comfortable room. I stayed for 4 nights and had a brilliant nights sleep every night, don't think that has happened before in any hotel. My only concern would be that the wifi signal in my room (on the second floor) was very intermittent; while it never dropped it would regularly be very low strength, which would affect page loading. I have to heap praise on Lucie in the restaurant (and the chef, don't have the name). I am a coeliac and have to follow a strict gluten-free diet. The hotel restaurant's menu wasn't particularly suitable for me, with a very limited number of options not containing gluten, but she managed to cater for me on two separate occasions, adapting a menu item to suit, including a custom made sauce and sides. Both meals were superb and I really appreciate her going the extra mile to keep me happy. Would go back just for that.
Our room was comfortable and quiet. The hotel was a short walking distance from the town's attractions. We felt the staff could have been more friendly. They never acknowledged our presence when we walked by which was different then the other hotels that we have stayed in over the last two months in France.
This hotel is located close to the heart of the city. We took a taxi from the train station, which cost about €8. However, you can take the tram to the Corum from the station (2 stops) for about €1.60. The hotel is well appointed. The rooms are nice and have international sockets, so you don't need an adaptor. There was a minibar in the room, but not being millionaires, we decided not to take out the mortgage required to buy a Toblerone. Shower was very good. Bed very comfortable. Breakfast was ok. First day lots of cooked and cold options. Day 2 less cooked options, but the cook could make anything to order. It was pretty good. The location is good. You are only about 5 minutes walk from the Place de Comedie. The fitness centre has about 6 machines, only two of which were switched on the day we went there. Pool is outdoor, so not usable in January. Staff were friendly and helpful. Because it was raining, we ordered a taxi when going back to the station. When the taxi arrived the meter was already on €7.50. When we queried this, we were told that this was the cost of getting to the hotel. We have travelled extensively, and this is a first. Good job he wasn't coming from Nimes. These are quibbles. It is good and we will be back.
Was surprisingly very nice welcome at the reception. The person (sorry not to remember the name) who did the check-in was very polite and client-oriented. Room (superior) was OK. Breakfast is upsetting, really. Looked like 3* more that standard Crowne Plaza 4*. But personnel (except for breakfast) really nice and professional, so I would be back to this hotel in case I'm back to Montpellier.
A very clean and modern hotel. Large rooms with a really nice breakfast. Away from the city center, but convenient to a tram stop and only a short ride to center. Probably better suited to business stays than holidays.
Walking distance to Corum conference center where I attended a medical conference. Walking distance to the parks, shopping area and Fabre museum. The hotel is modern yet has an old charm within. Staff are very pleasant and accommodating. This hotel is perfect for those who do not want to use taxi or tram service because you can walk to nearly all points of interest . Definitely would stay there again.
Having had our first night out of town we (son 17 and Dad) decided to stay in the crown plaza. It is a lovely modern hotel tucked way from the large opera house at Corum, we checked in early 1pm so we could drop our bags in and go off for lunch. We had a spacious twin room with a huge bath or all the other extras associated with a CP. The hotel is a five minute walk from the tram stop at Corum on the blue line. We decided to walk up to the old town (tram stop Comédie), this involved walking the through the park, which seemed to attract one or two less salubrious characters with giant dogs and lots of beer, we decided when we returned to Comédie in the evening we would get the tram from Corum. A book of 10 tram tickets is €10 and make sure you scan it in on the tram itself once aboard. This is a brilliant way to get round Montpellier. Our package included breakfast which again was in keeping with the standard expected of a CP, with a good choice of hot and cold food and a large selection of drinks, the pre cooked buffet breakfast food looked a bit tired (at 10am) so I ordered a freshly cooked omelette which was really tasty, the son enjoyed a selection of pastries and some mini pancakes with a cup of hot chocolate. The hotel has a lovely bar and swimming pool area on the first floor which I imagine would be really nice in the summer. A great location for exploring the old town, with it’s selection of shops, bars and restaurants. Would definitely stay again, although rather sadly the bar area was empty when we went out to dinner and again we we ordered a drink on our return, not very much atmosphere. I guess everyone was was out in the old town!!
