Hôtel Oceania Le Métropole Montpellier

The staff at Hotel Oceania Le Metropole were probably the best we encountered on our two month European trip. They were outstanding and couldn't do enough to help. It has been renovated and the interior is stunning. Centrally located, big room with comfy bed, great bathroom. Could not fault it. And we managed to get a park right out the front which was an absolute bonus.

Awesome showers . Comfy beds , nice that it has a few lifts . Great views of the streets below . Really enjoyed my stay very relaxing and will happily stay there again . If I had to have one moan the bar staff are a little slow but this is the French way , perfection on pouring and their house reds are good :—)

Positives - great location - reasonable price at the weekends - nicely refurbished rooms - quiet for a city center hotel - breakfast was good However it just gets too many things wrong: - firstly things went badly before we even got to the hotel. the address they use cannot be found on a car GPS. We drove around Montpellier center for 45mins before calling the hotel and being told ‘oh yes many GPSs have this problem - use this different address and it will work’ - why don’t they use this address on their website / 3rd party sites in the first place!!! - there are no directions inside the hotel at all. You literally have to ask for everything (not on the walls, in the garage or in the elevators) - there was no help to get bags too / from rooms to the lobby then garage (which is in a separate area) - the safe deposit box did not work and needed to be reset - there are no towel hooks in the bathrooms - light switches are right next to the entrance and so get broken as you bring bags into the room - there is no space to pull up at the main entrance and no valet service to park cars - staffing at The Weekends is beyond skeleton. From what we could see the (very friendly) lady on reception was doing everything. This hotel could be really great but they need to try harder to fix the many basic things that they are currently not getting right for an expensive hotel.

Beautiful modern hotel in elegant historic building. Walking distance from railway station and the Place de la Comedie is around the corner. Nice inner courtyard with lovely garden and very reasonable size pool for an inner city hotel. It was January so we couldn't try. Good and very clean rooms with comfortable beds. We had a room overlooking the courtyard and were able to keep our windows open at night, it was very quiet. With the heavy curtains blocking the light we had undisturbed sleep, great! There is limited closet space, and no coat rack, but in summer that may not be a problem. The roomservice in the hotel is limited, and there is no mini-bar in the room. There's a coffee machine in the room, but with paper cups. I would have expected and preferred real cups. The staf is friendly, very helpful and fluent in English (and French). There is a small gym with only few machines, but they looked good. We didn't use them but went outside for cycling and running. There is also a nice hammam that we had to ourselves two evenings in a row. Wonderful to relax at the end of the day before going out to dinner. The hotel can arrange for some spa treatments and massage on location, but there is also a massage salon right next door that offers a wide range of massages (no other treatments). We tried and really enjoyed it.

Beautiful hotel and friendly stuff. We had a hard time finding the hotel parking until we called the hotel . Our many thanks to Jacob and Luce who directed us to the right location. The room was big with a Nespresso coffee maker and tea. The shower is excellent. Very comfortable bed. We had dinner at the hotel and was excellent. Walking distance from the historic center.

Terrific, first class experience. From the room quality to the hotel staff, really wonderful all around. Just the right balance of European charm and modern convenience. Easy walk from the train station, with lots of cafes nearby. The front desk arranged for a car when I needed to go further. And they are very responsive by email if you have additional questions and/or needs. I plan on staying here again!

We stayed 3 nights. They have updated an old building bringing in modern but keeping the architecture of the old. Room was updated and very large unlike most places we have stayed in Europe. Very clean. Breakfast was good in a beautiful light filled room with touches of old and new. Good location with much in walking distance. They do have parking as well connected to the building although make sure you call ahead to get directions to entrance. Good value for your money. Would definitely stay again.

My 2nd time at this hotel, service is very friendly, beds are comfortable, rooms are good size, love the shower. They have taken an old historical hotel and modernize it. Plenty of plugs to charge you devices, good WiFi. Location is 2 blocks from train, with a number of great restaurants all within walking distances.

The Hotel is just 3 minutes walk from the Old city. It's in a quiet road and has a very nice patio, which we could not used as we visited in January, but It would be the perfect place for breakfast and meetings. The Patisserie across the hotel is FAB! The staff is amazing and friendly. They have a parking and it is next door to a SPA. The rooms are big and very clean. It's a fab hotel to stay in. Thank you for the experience! Happy New Year!

We spent 2 nights in this hotel and loved it. It was walking distance from everything. It was completely redone recently and they preserved the old charm on the first floor. the room overlooking the pool and a cute little garden was spacious enough for french standard and very comfortable. The tiny bathroom was perfectly organized but the shower was slippery. The staff was very welcoming. We would go again.
