Nice quiet polite clean property

We had a wonderful stay! Carmel Resort Inn had all the amenities we needed and was in close proximity to everything we wanted to explore.

Each "room" is a separate cabin which is cute. Cabin was clean, bathroom shiny, water pressure good. Beds were new and had fluffy linens super comfy. Room itself could have used some more personality was very austere and boring, needed a paint job. But the reason I was so disappointed was there WIFI SUCKS. There is no cell service either. So I was largely unable to check email or do much of anything while in the room. I had to walk 15 minutes to a coffee shop to get cell service and check email. Was really irritating. Other than that everyone was helpful and pleasant and things were clean and in good repair.

I thought the price was more than fair, and I actually liked that we were a bit away from the main part of Carmel, as it avoided the crowds. I also liked the individual cottages (your own entrance and exit), especially during a pandemic. The room isn't the greatest, but it's not bad either, especially for the price. Pros: the room has a fridge, a nice bed, an awesome gas fireplace for heat, a box fan in the closet, a safe, and big enough for 2 people and their 2 small dogs. Internet was fine too, and they have HBO and all the regular cable channels. Cons: Weird room layout. The safe was on the floor in one corner of the room. Our bathroom sink was not in the bathroom. The shower's temperature was interesting to control (trial and error method). You could hear noises from the adjacent cottage, but the box fan noise blocked that out. TV kind of small. To sum up: VERY WORTH THE PRICE!!! A mere 5 minute drive or 15 minute walk got us downtown. A walk to the beach would take 30 minutes. Here's a great strategy that we used: Drive into downtown or close to the beach and park. Then walk around. We would totally stay here again, and during the pandemic the isolation was appreciated!

Saving grace: The sheets and towels looked and smelled clean. Microwave, refrigerator, and coffee in room. Everything else was not great. The floor throughout the room was filthy. The bathroom is old and questionably clean. Uneven floors throughout the room and bathroom made walking tricky and doors refusing to stay open/closed. I don't care about the lack of amenities or even the lumpy bed, but please clean your floors and upkeep your facilities. Lastly, when I checked out Sunday morning at 9:30 AM, there was no one there to print out a copy of the receipt so I can review my charges. When I called, I was told they would be back at the property in 20 minutes. I noticed that the previous morning, there was also no one there and guests were not being helped.

The cottage was very charming! It had enough space to accommodate four adults. It was simple but clean and well kept.

This is a budget hotel if you are looking for a value-hotel near the Pebble Beach. The facility is old but you can tell that they tried their very best to maintain it. Room is spacious and it has everything you need (TV, coffee pot, soap, shampoo, luggage rack, hair dryer, etc.) Staff was professional when we checked in. Will stay there again.

Everything was nice and comfortable! Loved it! Front office staff was nice and attentive. Loved the location.

This hotel is VERY basic and VERY overpriced for what you get. The room looks nothing like the picture. The bed is old, appears to have a hole in it (I didn't check to see if there were more), the phone was so dirty I didn't want to touch it, and the shampoo bottles were literally half full (reused?). The managers/owners really cut corners any way they could here. I don't recommend this "resort" unless you need really just need a roof over your head, a place to sleep, and running water, because that's really all you're getting.
